Strandhill Golf Club and Waterford Golf Club were the proud winners of the prestigious Flogas Vision Ireland Holmpatrick and Granard Cups. The Grand Final took place on Friday the 11th of September and marked a thrilling conclusion to this year’s historic nationwide club competition.

Declan Rooney and Gerry Kilbride from Strandhill Golf Club and Kate Croke and Sarah Wade from Waterford Golf Club were the proud winners and were delighted to bring the cups back to their home clubs.  In 2025 over 16,000 people from over 197 clubs around the country took part in the Holmpatrick and Granard Cups which were established in 1932 and 1933, and remain two of the longest running charity club competitions in Ireland.

Mullingar Golf Club provided the perfect setting for the 2025 final, who along with the regional hosts, Milicent, Dun Laoghaire, Strandhill and Woodstock Golf Clubs showed incredible generosity and commitment to Vision Ireland by providing their courses free of charge to the charity for these events. Their support, along with that of all participating Clubs continues to drive the success of these historic club competitions and ensures that golf plays a meaningful role in supporting Vision Ireland’s vital work.

The Winners of the Granard and The Holmpatrick Cups will now get to experience a golfer’s trip of a lifetime to the historic St. Andrews. They will stay for three nights at the magnificent Rusacks Hotel and will play three of the St Andrew’s Golf Courses including The Eden, New Course and The Castle Course.

“On behalf of everyone at Flogas we would like to congratulate Strandhill and Waterford Golf Club on their remarkable victories”, said John Conroy, Marketing Manager, Flogas Ireland. “The Flogas Vision Ireland Holmpatrick and Granard cups have become a firm fixture in Irish Golf clubs calendar, offering golfers from every corner of the country a chance to represent their club.  We are very proud to sponsor these historic events and in doing so support the incredible work that Vision Ireland does for so many people affected by sight loss around the country”.

“The Flogas Vision Ireland Holmpatrick and Granard Cups raises essential funds for Vision Ireland and enables us to continue to provide essential services for people in Ireland living with sight loss,” said  Joanne McCarney, Vision Ireland. “We would like to congratulate Strandhill and Waterford Golf Clubs on their success and  we would like to thank  our sponsor Flogas Ireland and all the clubs  and players who have taken part.  Without all this support this event just would not be possible.”
