It’s just the noise and the vibration on the floor when you come walking up to it when it’s being revved up. It’s a awesome beast. I shall respect it, but I shall I shall give it the berries on a few uh few straits. I’m tremendously excited and of course the work started ages ago. It was uh it’s amazing to come to fruition now. to be reacquainted with the car on such an apicious occasion here at Goodwood is just it brings back all the feelings and uh it turns the clock back and it’s just very exciting. All the memories come flooding back. It’s a beautiful machine and it brings back the memories that it’s the only car I ever drove in the mid 80s that uh try to kill you on every corner. So, you have a lot of respect for it because when the turbos kick in, they kick in. I mean, I won so many races with it and something very special, exempting. I mean, for Honda to bring the car over and for uh Williams to work so hard and change everything on it and make sure the engine’s running well, which it is a first class job. I mean, brilliant. Congratulations to everybody. [Music]

    Nigel Mansell is an absolute racing God and with slightly more luck could perhaps even have been a competitor for the title of goat. There can be no doubt that man was one of the best if not the best balls out racer we have seen. People rave about the German guy, and the Brazilian guy and the little French guy with a crooked nose, but to be honest Nigel Mansell was better than any of them. He simply didn’t have the luck in the car. He should have had at least three world championships. Unfortunately luck was not always with him Nigel was not politician. He was a racing driver so unfortunately some drivers managed to get preferential treatment over Nigel when he was their team mate.

    What a superb driver Nigel was -I used to watch Formula 1 when it was exciting exuded danger and had drivers like Mansell who gave it everything "Il Leone" as the Italians called . Formula 1 nowadays? – I'd prefer watching paint dry .

    Stil looks really young. He should have been in the Brad Pitt movie. Probably drove the cars Brad 'supposedly' drove on camera. lol

    Another copy of this 1986 machine, the number 003, which was stored in the south of France but not in running condition, was sold to an English collector in July 2025 and will also probably be restored.
