Won’t be missed. Dude unmasked himself as bigot at the ‘97 Masters and anything else is moot

  2. Buttercut33

Or whatever those people eat. Fkn asshole. RIP anyway.

  3. Lazy__Lefty

I got his autograph in like 2011 I think at the Principal Charity Classic. I think it’s at my parent’s house somewhere, and after seeing this I’ll take some time to look for it while I’m there for Thanksgiving. RIP Fuzzy

Imagine being so known for a racist statement that tiger woods is part of the url slug for your obituary.

  5. phreesh2525

Man, a lifetime of work and a single moronic statement is his epitaph.

I don’t know anything about the man, but it’s sure an unfortunate legacy.

i don’t think racism has a place in the heavens

disgusting it has a place on earth

  7. Comments couldn’t be more reddit if they tried

Been hating him since 1997. The callous nature and tone of what he said was unprovoked. Glad he’s remembered more for his bigotry than his on course achievements.

Might have been Patient 0 for cancel culture, just pre-dated by 2 decades.

  10. Even-Raspberry-1344

Tacky, tacky. man fucked up and paid for it for years.

  11. Intelligent-Ad199

I will always remember his masters victory
    My first masters

“That little boy is driving well and he’s putting well,” Zoeller said, before adding that Woods should be congratulated, then joking that officials should “tell him not [to] serve fried chicken next year … or collard greens or whatever the hell they serve.”

  13. realspongeworthy

I’m sure he’d have been wildly interested in what virtue-signaling Redditors think of his edgy race joke.

  14. Intelligent-Ad199

His greatest stopping Shark from winning major on US soil

  15. MeatTitan21

I tried to get his autograph in 2002 when I was 11 and he wouldn’t sign my golf ball because it was a Nike…

  16. All the haters here must be saints! Never ever did or said anything inflammatory, y’all must be the most moral people on earth

  17. Conscious_Skirt_61

Tiger has had his own share of despicable acts and bigoted comments IIRC (and I do).

    Many par-5s, Fuzzy. RIP.

  18. Musicfan637

Fuzzy and Tiger. It’s quite a little story. They both went away.

  19. naked_short

I didn’t know the guy but I’m sure having an extreme opinion is warranted based on the one time I ever saw him in media.

  20. EggExact6721

so many self righteous comments in here. a nation full of pussies

  21. Swimming-Elk6740

Man this sub is filled with a bunch of tightwads lol. Reddit never knows the difference.

  22. Tcannata44

No!!! Loved Fuzzy bad joke and misjudgment notwithstanding, he was some golfer and seemed fun.

  23. rigidlynuanced1

I hope TW shows up to the wake with a bucket of KFC

  24. Everyone focuses on the chicken and collard greens. Him calling Woods a Little Boy is as egregious as anything else said in that statement.

I was a kid with a bunch of other kids at The Memorial tournament in Ohio. We would stand at the players clubhouse exit hoping to get autographs. Greg Norman came out and yelled at us to get away, Fuzzy Zoeller immediately came out and walked down and talked to all of us.

I don’t know what to say. Man was an amazing, effortless talent , wins his Masters debut(which is like impossible IMO), and then for the final 28 years of his life , is pretty much only known for ten seconds of racial gibberish he spouted

It’s unfortunate , but like people have posted here already , to get cancelled back then you know he said something very inappropriate. Doesn’t matter that he was known as a prankster

Still, to have a whole career tarnished over a few words seems unfair, but hey he said it…and said some more after he pulled away

Anyway, RIP Fuzzy, I’m sure JD is very sad today , they were tight
