Scott Vincent’s calm amidst the storm. A look at the PIF Saudi International. November 17, 2025 10 a.m. by International Series staff. Pressure. What pressure? Zimbabwe Scott Vincson is in the driver’s seat at the PIF Saudi International, a position most golfers dream of, but can he keep his cool when the stakes are higher than ever? Currently topping the international series rankings with an impressive 325.59 points, Benson holds a comfortable lead. He’s 40.29 points ahead of Japan’s Yosuki Asogi and a significant 93.31 points clear of Miguel Tobuena of the Philippines. This week in Riyad is the culmination of the race and the tension is palpable. As the international series Morocco champion, Vincent is widely considered the front runner for one of the coveted golden tickets to next season’s LIV golf league. But with a hefty $5 million US prize pool on the line this week, the competition is fierce. The leaderboard could change dramatically before Saturday evening. Adding to the excitement, the tournament will feature a starstudded lineup of LIIV golf players returning to Riot. Keep an eye out for defending champion Wain Neiman, international series Macau winner Carlos Ortiz, and Lucas Herbert who triumphed at the International Series Japan. Former world number one Dustin Johnson, 2017 Masters champion Sergio Garcia and Patrick Reed, who won the green jacket the following year, are also in the mix. With such a stack field, there’s little room for error as the season reaches its climax. But here’s where it gets interesting. Despite the immense pressure, Dinsen remains remarkably composed. His secret weapon, discipline, patience, and a steadfast focus on his process. Vincent is aiming to replicate his impressive closing round of 66 at the Riyot Golf Club last year. “If I could do something like that again, that would be amazing,” he said. 66 is a great score, especially on a golf course like this. As the field adjusts to a slightly modified course layout this year, Vincent is already deep in study mode. It’s a work in progress, he explained. We are studying and learning the course. The setup is a little different this year. Much better conditions. The rough is tougher and there’s more sand outside the rough, so there’s definitely a premium on keeping it in play. Maybe not as aggressive off the tea as in the past, but the greens are fantastic, so it’s going to play nicely. Five consecutive weeks on the road would exhaust any athlete, but Vincent’s mindset remains rockolid as he approaches the end of this demanding stretch. “This last stretch has been a good one,” he said. 5 weeks on the road is long, but we get a nice break after this. There’s nothing in particular I’m trying to push, just maintaining everything, keeping strong. I’m not trying to do anything flashy. I just want to stick to the process, hit it from here to there, and plot my way around this golf course. Right now, it’s just about getting the game ready and seeing where it puts us. And this is the part most people miss. While the focus is on securing a direct qualification spot for LIIV golf, the implications of this week extend even further. The results in Riyot will also play a crucial role in determining who earns a spot at the LIV Golf Promotions event in Florida, where two additional league places will be up for grabs in early January. Controversy and comment hooks. Do you think Vincent’s strategy of staying grounded and focused is the key to success? Or is there a need for a more aggressive approach in such a high stakes competition? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
