Mark Allen Hot Tip – Bag Set Up
Start with some irons no higher than a 5-iron! Grab a high-launching driver to help you get the distance off the tee.
A 5-wood is perfect for launching the ball high into the air. Rescue clubs (hybrid) are way easier to hit than long irons, and a few wedges to help with bunkers and chip around the green.

Okay, how do you set up your golf bag? Now, I’ve got a friend. He doesn’t hit the ball too far, but he loves golf. So, I’ve got some irons in the bag all set to go. The highest iron is a five iron. All righty. But we need some more. So, the driver something with a little bit of loft. It goes straight in the bag. Now, a fairway would come with me. I told you he didn’t hit the ball too far, so he didn’t want a 3-wood. He mightn’t even want a fourwood. What he wants is a good oldfashioned fivewood. So that goes in the bag. Now there’s a big gap between this fivewood and the five iron. I’ll tell you why. Look at some of these hybrids. That one will be perfect. That can kind of substitute the three iron. And this one that’ll substitute the four iron that is missing. Now all we need are the wedges. Now I know that this particular pitching wedge has got 45° loft. Now, all the experts here at the Golf Clearance Outlet, they can help you with this stuff. Come with me. So, my wedge has got 45°. So, we want to make this pretty balanced. You’ve got to have a log wedge where it goes deep bunkers. So, then we probably just need a 50. Here’s the 50° that goes in. Now, we got a big a big gap between the 50 and the lob wedge. So, it’s either the 54 or the 56. I think most people the 54 is about right. Look at this. It’s on the ground. The 54 goes in. That’s how I would balance the bag. Now, if you want more information or if you want some help with balancing your bag, make sure you get into the Golf Clearance Outlet.
