This is an exploding golf ball, but what’s the science behind how it works and why when I hit it, it bursts into a giant cloud like that. So, as you can see, it looks and feels totally like a normal golf ball. It just kind of has a seam down the middle, but it’s hard to notice. So, I decided I was going to pop it open, and a bunch of powder came out. It didn’t actually explode when cutting it, but the shell kind of parted, and you can see all of this powder just coming out of the ball. Now, the shell is super thin when you take a look at a little slice of it here. And it is stuffed to the brim with what I’m thinking is either cornstarch or flour. Whatever it is, when the ball gets hit, the shell breaks and forces all this powder into the air. It also definitely covers your driver up, but that’s what allows it to get all these cool and awesome shots. And that’s how an exploding golf ball works.
