Ho ho ho. It’s Ed Santa Bud here. Are you searching for that perfect Christmas gift for a running relative? Maybe you simply just want to spoil yourself with the latest running shoe technologies. Either way, I’ve got a few surprises here for you to enhance your seasonal joy with my Edbud Christmas gift ideas for runners 2025 video. Let’s go, go, Santa. First up, the old reliable, the Chorus heart rate monitor here. It’s a classic one for me to include in one of these videos. It’s one of those products I’ve used since it first came out. It’s just reliable. Grab it at Start Fitness with the code BF10 and you can get these for £62. Easy to get set up with this monitor. Position it on your arm rather than perhaps the sometimes very unreliable sort of wristbased heart rate. At least here you can position it somewhere so it’s not going to get knocked. It will give you that heart rate readout to your GPS watch or your phone. And also very useful if you’re wearing a load of layers. Perhaps you want to cover up your wrists, keep yourself a bit warmer. You can position the heart rate monitor higher up on your arm. I found that more recent smart watches and GPS devices do have better HR sensors than the old days, but they can give you some odd readings around this time of year, especially if you’ve got very bony wrists like me. It’s always when the temperatures drop, you know, you get some really strange spikes and stuff on some of the GPS watches. Easy to wash and simple to adjust. a really good update for inclusion in the Christmas stocking. Talking of stockings, well, socks at least, my top tips are as follows. The UYN Runners 5 are still a favorite of mine. Great toe socks. These wash really well and last the test of time. If you’ve got a shoe that’s perhaps a tad long or wide, these can help you adjust the fit and really dial in the comfort. You can tailor the feel of the shoe to get the best out of them. I find they keep your feet a little bit warmer as well in the winter months due to the toe sock style design. Amazon have got these for around about 19 quid right now, which is a decent price. They’re sometimes hard to find over here in the UK, but you might get lucky on some better deals over in Europe. H wish we were still part of the European Union. Things might be a little bit cheaper, you know. The other socks I’ve been using lots this year are the AS6 performance run crew variety. Again, these wash really well. a little bit thicker than the UIM’s. They got a bit more structure to them and protect the heels. A little bit more cushion there around the back of the Achilles. Sports shoes have got some in their Black Friday sale for around about 17 notes, which is no bad thing. I find you can wash these over and over again and they don’t lose their luster. For those darker winter nights, you really need to get yourself a decent head torch if you want to get out there and do the grind on the miles. If you’re out there in the harsh urban wilderness, then the Pzel Arctic Core 625 LUM torch is one of my favorites. Now, the torch itself is really well built. I’ve dropped these so many times and they never break. Easy to adjust, easy to operate. There’s not a myriad of buttons or anything that you have to push. You don’t need to read a manual. The battery itself is super simple, too, and easy to recharge. It lasts loads longer than some of the cheaper alternatives, which seem great on paper, though in operation, they just don’t seem to have the same efficiency level. They just get used up really quickly. You’ll find yourself having to recharge loads more than you really want to. But with the Pzel act core series, they just seem to last that bit longer. This one is available around 55 quid at Fresh Air Junkie. This is one of the best deals I found and includes free delivery as well. Do watch out for hidden delivery charges on a lot of these Black Friday deals. You’ll get like what seems to be a good deal until you get through to the delivery section. They add on quite a bit. So, do watch out for that. People, by the way, none of these deals today are like sponsored like affiliate links or anything. I’m just finding them and letting you know. I’m currently testing out the Choros Pace 4 watch to bring you a review in the coming days, but I did notice some superb deals on the Pace 3. Many sites have brought the price down to around about 179 with those Black Friday discounts and that includes Start Fitness right now. They’ve got a great deal on these. The wonderful thing about Chorus watches is the battery life. They just seem to last so much longer than some of the Garmin ones. I’m always having to recharge the Garmin watches, fiddling around looking for the right charger cables. You’ve been there, haven’t you people? The Chorus app is also now much more comparable statwise with the Garmin Connect competitor. And I mean, how much information stats do you really need? I really do like the Chorus app as well. They’ve redesigned it. It’s really clear and you can get loads of data from it. Love the Pace model for its likeness. And the Pace 3 has some great discounts right now for your running relatives. A video like this wouldn’t be complete without some great shoe deals. And there’s even more now. I mean, I could make one of these every day probably and find new deals. JD Sports in the UK have got the Wolf Gay version of the Evo SL down to 80 quid. Now, though sizing is a bit limited, that’s one of the lowest prices I’ve seen on this shoe. And let’s not forget, it’s hard to beat from like a value perspective for what you’re getting here anyway at retail. But £80, that is just nuts really. This is one of the viewers shoes of the year, it’s going to be in my list certainly. I’ve just grabbed one of these actually, the New Balance SC Elite V5. It’s now discounted further at sportsshoes.com. If you want to pick up the topline New Balance Racer, which is that little bit lighter, a little bit more aggressive this time and a little bit narrower are here, which is music to my ears with the Black Friday code BF25. You can pick these up for 155 quid. Now, that’s a great discount when you consider the original retail was about 260 on these. So, there’s loads of colorways, loads of sizes. They’d already been discounted down to 207, but 155 is top for a super shoe. It really is something. You can also find some deals on the Sakin Endorphin Pro 4. I think they got a V5 coming out in the new year, but hey, grab some deals on the outgoing models. Save yourself some money from sportsshoes.com. Now, I did find some banging deals on the Vaporfly 4 as well. Nike have got a considerable sale on at the moment over at their website. It’s quite staggering to see this shoe reduced so heavily within months of its release, but that’s where we are right now. It is a buyer market and that is good. 145 for the red version here. These used to be sold out in seconds. I remember the original Vapor Flies were like gold dust. Still a super light race shoe here with that carbon plate. A little bit of a lower stack, but I think most people won’t even notice that. Maybe aside of a few durability concerns, I think it will serve you well for anything up to the half marathon for almost all folks. That red version is available in every size and there are others including the black and brown winter friendly option. But I found a better one. Run Northwest. Yay. Take the crown. £13725 for this same shoe. That is cheaper than many daily shoes right now that have just come out for a top racer. Bravo Run Northwest. Getting quick though. I can see those moving pretty quick. The white and hyper pink version is also available. Very slightly more expensive. Use the code RNW10 to get that further 10% off. That brings it down to about £140. Okay, there’s all my stocking fillers for you. I may do another one of these actually because I found more deals since I wrote this script. I’ll keep you updated if I find any more bangers. Let the runners know any great deals you found on some seasonal stocking fillers down in the comments. Musical interlude for you today comes from Badly Drawn Boy with his song Donna and Blitzen. Bit of an overlooked one. I believe I had this on like a 7-in single at one point. Not sure what happened to that. Sort of disappeared. Reminds me a little bit of those old Doop records perhaps mixed in with a little bit of Phil Spectre. I think he must have written this one around about the same time he did the soundtrack for the film About a Boy starring Hugh Grant. It just builds and builds and builds. It’s got a really nice vibe to it. I think I always liked it cuz it reminded me a little bit of some material from Eels. It’s got that same sort of feel. There’s some meatron in there. Lots of sleigh bells, lots of atmosphere. Really great track. Go and check it out. It’s not often heard anywhere really. Donna and Blitzen by Badly Drawn Boy. Thanks for tuning in people. Hope you enjoyed today’s video. Hopefully you’ve managed to find a idea or an item for your loved ones. 1. I find myself not needing anything more than a Fitbit Versa 4. I need only one number while I'm running: what zone I'm currently in. The only caveat for accuracy is that you should be using a silicone band. If you insist on the more comfy nylon, make sure you cinch it down a bit before you head on out.

  2. For headlamps, I prefer one that has a red flasher at the back of the head (Chinese generic, just mind any tariffs). Other great stocking stuffers are ankle flashers and chest harness flashers: great for when you have no better option than to run late in the evening darkness and would rather not get squished by a vehicle. For socks I like the polypropylene Randy Sun brand. They're meant to be waterproof, but I favor them for their wind resistance.
