The 5 iron… my absolute most consistent club in the bag. 200-205, straight every time. I use it to punch out of tricky spots. I use it to bump and run. I absolutely love it.
UNTIL THIS FREAKING MONTH.
I swear to god I cannot hit it further than my 7 iron and I have no clue what happened. My driver is suddenly WAY better, which is nice. And I am doing well with other stuff, but my baby, my rock solid, ride or die, confidence giving foundation is falling to pieces.

Weirdly as I got much better with my driver and long irons my 3H became less reliable.
I got it back but there was a period where we were definitely not on a first name basis.
I’ve been there with my driver for two seasons now. Reason for length is I’m afraid of it at this point.
It’s funny you have the 5i in the picture because I went through the exact same thing with my 5 at the end of the summer lol

My 5w, used to be a comfort off the tee club. Now I hit it straight, top it, fat it or a nasty duck hook. It’s become unreliable where I avoid pulling it entirely. Building a 2i as a replacement. My 3i has become my fairway finder the 5w once was, but I want a bit more distance to match what the 5w did.
