Turned 40 recently and also had a bit of extra money come in, so I tried to talk my wife into buying me a motorcycle… She declined, but we "compromised" on a full set of new clubs. Got fitted for everything and got it just the way I like.
DR: PXG Black Ops 10.5* +1 cut .75" short (forget the shaft, and custom head weighting to get my contact/miss in the right place)
4W: PXG Black Ops head, +1, same shaft model as driver
9W: PXG Black Ops head, -1, same shaft
5i-GW: Maltby TS3 DBM with their Pro Series+ shaft (and a lie adjustment I forget)
54* & 58*: Maltby DRT DBM S-grind with the Pro Series+shaft
Putter: Spider ZT 35"
Now I'll tune fine tune these on the sim this winter and be ready for next season.

I have a black ops 7 wood.
Never thought I’d own a PXG club, mostly because I usually buy Titleist or Ping by default. But I went to a free PXG outdoor fitting and tried the woods. Fucking terrific. Heroes discount made the decision even easier.
I just got a $200 PXG gift card and am eyeballing a 9 wood.

Sick bag. Did you get fitted at the actual facility for the irons, or somewhere else? Was looking at making the trip to get fitted for Maltbys myself and was wondering about their fitting process on site.

Glad you got to have yours. I had planned on having mine this year (50) but seems like everyone else is raining on my parade. I had planned on going to the Mizuno Foundry to get fit for a full bag. Oh Well.
That set will serve you well for a LONG time. I put together a set of the KE4 TC Woods 5/7/9, STI2 irons, DTR 54* and their mallet putter setup like a zero torque. Next club will be the Driver however I may skip that and wait for their Mini driver they are working on to complete the bag instead.
I am really glad Maltby is starting to get some love. They really took a turn the last couple of years in terms of aesthetics. In the past their irons were more about playability than being pretty now they have both.
This is worse than a motorcycle. Likely on par with a corvette.
Will never understand the PXG hate. It’s a dtc brand that made it mainstream bc of their quality and their niche of providing deep discounts and giving back to vets and first responders. It started as a veteran owned business.
Their clubs get consistently good reviews and their latest generation of balls were top performers in mygolfspys latest data release.
I fitted PXG vs other brands and while their driver/3w and putters weren’t for me I did go with irons over other brands bc of the stats.
