Interestingly, Maroy has come out with a looks like a 3-wood here, Wayne. Yes. And the first couple of days, believe it or not, well, the reason why he’s hitting uh 3-wood is because he can run out down the right wing and get blocked out by a tree down there. And there’s also a little a creek down there. So, he’s hit this 3-wood and believe it or not, he has hit it down the left hand slither. I can’t I don’t think he can re reach the bunker out there at 330, but that’s what he’s done the first few days successfully down the left wing. Can he carry that one though? We talk about the golfing gods going against Maroy at this moment in time. That was one inch away from getting a big bounce forward. Oh, it’s going to be pretty close to face as well. Last throw of the dice here for Rose. His foot slipped his right foot. That’s going to be all right. Actually, he’ll get a a stance there and he’ll be able to chop it onto the green somewhere. Outside chance. Good T- shot. Sadly not taking an advantage. Here’s right to left, but it’s almost pushing it right early. It’s very easy to overdo this. Hang it out to the right. That’s mean some high quality golf from Fitzpatrick on this back nine. are just finding a way and not going in for him. The ball of Justin Rose. Goodness me. It’s just anywhere on the on the green. This This could actually get even worse for this if you’re standing in it. Honestly, what m I’m going to be so far low. How am I going to hit it? Well, I’m just wondering if if one foot could be in there potentially. No, it’s going to be like So, remember he’s not allowed Bill to stance. In other words, he can’t move rocks to give himself a a stance. is a smart player to come out to the front, try and get up and down. This could be Richard Finch. Irish Open. Oh. Oh, good save. Oh, good save again. It’s okay. Tough break there for Justin. Yeah, the rocks were well below his the height of the ball. That was the problem there. We couldn’t see that with the first angle. Back to the tea. Flintwood. 171. Not Tommy’s fastest ball speed, so it should be short of the water. Indeed, it is. told you about the uh the approach shot from Rasmus Hyart 16. So he’s got a chance to move within one with two holes to go. Nothing. Hold nothing. God, it’ll frustrate you this game to 18 again. this time. Caner, you can understand that. Potentially two good swings away from the best win of his life up ahead. All better. brilliant. Some of the quality of shots we’ve seen around the greens from these players this week has been really special and anybody who’s played in Bermuda rough can really appreciate the high skill level that’s needed. So to 16 where Raasmus Pison and Rory Mroy are both in the fairway bunker. There is a a rake mark that is the prongs have left a little mound only 2 mm in height behind the ball. Just enough. I think he’ll lay it up. I really do. He’s only got 167. He could have got a wedge there if it was a clean lie. Uh if he has a crack at it and tries to pick it, which he could, but also you pick it with a wedge or a nine, then you slam it into the face. He’s got to play this as a three shooter. If he takes this on um it’s a miracle shot. No, he’s just going to bail out as expected. Play it as a three shot. I just wal it down there and face about a 70 yard. Good boy. Clever. I tell you what he’s What has he done? Oh, what are you doing, Ross? He’s putting us through it again. Is that just short of the bunker? It’s between the bunker and the penalty area. I know. What’s he do to us? The Rory roller coaster. He said big improvements with his wedge play. There’s nothing wrong with just sort of nudging it down there like Wayne suggested. Mind you, say that there’s nothing very pretty about where Caner’s left himself here [Music] was caught up in in the Bermuda rough above or to the right of the green where the crowds are there. Chipped down to there. So, it’s all a bit of a a messy finish, I’m afraid, for Justin. Yeah, maybe a little bit of a legacy of that very missed, very short missed putt in the previous hole for the experienced rose there. He’s glad to get this hole done with. It’s not going to be his week in terms of a win. Well, there’s nothing nice there cuz he tries to fire something in there low. You get the feeling it’s not going to carry that part of the ditch there that you can see. [Applause] shame. Seven at the last for Justin Rose. Not a great year, however. mid-40s comfortably qualifying for the Rder Cup team as one of the leading six players. Huge win in the FedEx playoff and very important role in that Ryder Cup team. So well done Justin Rose. Excellent year and nearly won the Masters as well. Nearly won the Masters. I’ve forgot about that. You’re right. So Ludvig Orber to set the target in the clubhouse. good up and down. Nice birthday. There it is. Clubhouse post target 17 under the Bodie free 66 for Oette on Sunday here at the Earth Course. Look at the improvement after that. Slightly pedestrian first round. Rael Ayora to close within one at the 17th. That was a big putt because it’s becoming increasingly likely that 17 could be the number with Makoy in trouble as well as Caner. There’s one way he can get this close and that is to bump it into an upflow. It’s a tough shot. If he takes it way upstairs and lands it on the green 16 ft behind it would be better than good. [Applause] That’s as good as he could have done as Wayne was expressing there. But the good news for Maroy is that uh he will win the order of merit. Sixiron Fitzpatrick tight flag as you’ve mentioned Paul two four finish would certainly ask a question or two behind first things first find this target it’s small a brilliant iron shot from Fitzpatrick he’s looked really strong on this back nine It does look the guy at the moment most likely to win. You’d have to think as we see Caner chipping out and leaving himself a very long third shot into that par five with a tight pin. I tell you, Till Harton made a double bogey over at the 16th. So, he has fallen back to 12 under B. I think that’s what you’re alluding to. ball tier had to win this tournament to stand any chance of dislodging Mroy at the top of the race to Dubai rankings. Wind is strong here on this 17th. Just got to be mindful of just maybe floating it a fraction for Hoyar, but can you hold it against the breeze? It’s a hard pin if you don’t. Yeah, is right. The grain is really into the players from down there. That’s what’s making it so difficult and that’s why so few were choosing to lob it up onto the green. Tommy Fleetwood up at 18. Is this the mini driver? Just over 250 yds back. It is, you know, China Fleetwood is almost certainly going to join that group at 17, but could he even get to 18? The irony of holding a big putt on the last with all the missed opportunities had in the last three or four days. Back over to 16 and Mroy up against it into a breeze which slows this putt up quite a lot downhill down grain for a par out of his All right. Another one gone for Mroy. He is going to fall back to 16 under par. He opened up a a two-shot lead at one stage and with two holes to go. He is now one behind. Yeah, have to say very unlucky there on 16. But he’s got to start finding fairways. That’s four in a row that Maroy has missed and that’s why he’s dropped two shots. 216 yds to go for his third at 18 Lori Caner. Maybe the biggest shot of his career so far. A long way back. 216 yds. Pin is not going to be a factor surely from there unless he pulls it. Oh, what a shot right over the top of it. Well done, Lori. That was brave. What a brilliant execution there up the hill and into the breeze. It’s wide. It might just be on the fringe, but that’ll be tops. Should feel very proud of yourself with that one, Lori. That was something special. Ludvig Albe can uh only sit and wait now to see where that 17 under maybe good enough for a playoff. You would think you rather fancy that someone will get to 18, but we’ll see. Good performance from Lorie Caner today. It’s a huge stage as we head back to the tea and Iora 188 is a lot of ball speed. Can he carry the water? Oh, he has and comfortably. Well done. Wow. I think we’ve uneared another gem from Europe here in Iayora. The way he’s performed today. Look at that. It’s so sweet. That is so sweet. Welcome an eight time DP World Tour winner, including at the DP World India Championship this season. He’s a two-time Rolex Series winner from England, Tommy Fleetwood. Fitzpatrick over at 17. Hair done and dusted. Clickwood with an eagle putt at the 18th. Larry Caner with a P for Birdie. And this is Rasmus Hoyar back at 17. last play. Absolute beauty. We’ve seen so many players over the years struggle down there when the pin is on the left hand side with that chip shot. That was something special there from Raasmus. Mroy waits on the 17th T. So calm and collected over the opening 11 holes or so. Things have just gone a little skew if since then. Outside chance, Dom I’d say for Fitzpatrick right to left early sort of straightening, but don’t see it tracking back really. It might continue to move. It’s always a hard putt up this slope to judge. Hamlet through the break on the right side as well. Little overcautious. Yeah, it’s a weird one. Well, you have to think he is in control of this tournament. So to the 18th and Tommy Flickward standing over a putt for an eagle three to jump over there can fit Patrick. [Applause] Good effort there from Tommy and little bit of work to do to get to 17. You never know. That could be the number. It could be a playoff number. I think 18 will likely win on its own. You’re going to have to think Caner from Bath. A birthday pot. The final green. The DP World Tour champs to get to minus 18. never came. 1926 iron flag over there on the left hand side. Don’t pull it left. It could make its way down into the water. No pull in that swing. That’s a brilliant golf swing. I mean, what a thud when his club makes contact with the ground. That’s that’s a work of art. He’s got that to move to 16 underpar. Up at 18, Tommy Fleetwood for a closing birdie. And he joins Luc in the clubhouse at 17 under. 67 for Tommy. Good back nine as well. He’s come home in five under par. Well done, boss. Caner also to get in at 17 under. Great stuff from Tory Lanter. Wonderful round of golf from him there today under pressure. Five under par. You can see 67. Very, very good stuff from him. Mroy at 17. Same club, six eye taking it on. [Applause] Right down the flag. That was a brilliant shot from Maroy. It’s go time again. Now he’s got himself behind the eightball with those mistakes. That was right down the flag. That would have looked good from where he was standing. wind is coming in and slightly off his left hand side there and that was haunting the flag. just didn’t have the five yards extra in the air that you saw from near guard Peterson’s shot to Hatton from the fairway right hand side of 18 not cleared that water hazard by much 242 up the hill. Well, he started slowly today, Tier Hatton, and uh got it going at one stage, sort of mid round, but that horrible six, the double bogey at 16 put paid to his chances. Look, he’s had a great season, doesn’t he? I mean, uh when you think of the the limited playing opportunities he had for himself to even even challenge, says an awful lot about the golf that he’s played this year in those events that he played in. What about this guy? This guy has been really impressive. 188 ball speed off that 18T is something special. He’s one of the best ball strikers in the field this week. T Green. What a big season behind him on the DP World Tour. You can see why he’s acquitted himself so well today to this pressurized situation. Interesting. Fitzpatrick’s standing there waiting back on the tea with the club already out the bag. Take this over the water and high. It’s okay. It’s not an easy shot to hunt down that flag cuz the wind is not helping you to hunt it down. It’s coming into you and slightly off your left if anything. Now, this is interesting. Back on the tea, Matthew Fitzpatrick has not reached for the driver, Anthony. Yeah, strange, isn’t it? I mean, strong the breeze. Still quite a carry up the right with driver, so maybe not taking it on. He’s he’s been drying that grip three times. He’s been backwards and forwards. He’s more that way, please. directing traffic. Directly behind me. Thank you. Luckily, I’m not one of them. So, this is an interesting play, but with a freshening breeze. I don’t blame you if you can’t get there in two. Why take it on? The fairway is far wider up that left side, but everything cambers towards the water, right? And left. Take your pick. I think he can smash the 3-wood as hard as he likes and he’s going to land in the wider area of the fairway. Just I think isn’t it? Yeah, I don’t think he’s caught it as well unfortunately. I think he’s necked it slightly. So, it is going to be a huge second shot for him. That shows you how good a T-shot Aora hit to carry it over that water on the right hand side. That was brave as well as impressive. Yeah, I mean it’s a club club club and a half somewhere close to two Paul out here at the minute. It’s always exposed this 18th T and it’s uphill so any sort of float it’s coming backwards but this man’s got power to burn. I think he sent a little rocket the left hand side there. All depends on the light. Well, whilst Fitzpatrick makes his way up the 18th, let’s go back a hole to Mroy with a birdie putt to get back to 17 under and back in a share of the lead. He keeps you on the end your seat on the edge of your seat, does he? E straight up the hill and just wants to peel from right to left. Ooh, big moment. Good opportunity. Would it surprise you? Nope. [Applause] Oh, it was a good read. It was firmly struck. Well, maybe a little too firm. [Applause] just had visions of that 18th hole at the K Club there when he really needed it. How often have we seen Marai pull it out of the bag? Stunning shot from uh Raasmus Ngo Pettison. He’s done well, hasn’t he? To recover. He was a little bit shaky for the first two/3 of the round and then suddenly Eagle Birdie 14 and 15. Well, he’s a factor to win now. I mean, uh, who knows, you know, Eagle on 18, he’s got plenty power to get the home there in two and he’s brave and he’s on a good run of form as you can see in terms of the last five or six holes. A lot of confidence. So, I’m not going to discount them, but there’s a good chance he’ll join 17. The question is, can Fitzpatrick push ahead? Yeah, Fitzpatrick’s got it in his hands, hasn’t he? Our put at 17 for Maroy. 72nd hole left. And like Anthony says, I think Fitzpatrick’s a lot further back than he was anticipating after the three-wood off the tea. We’ll come to Fitzpatrick in a moment. First of all up Greenside at the 18th to Iora. He’s played very well today. Aora 15 of 18. Should he hit this one, which you expect him to do? And launching of another superstar coming from Spain. [Applause] He’s not going to hit the green stop. Don’t you dare do that to him. Don’t. Don’t. Oh, you’re kidding me. Oh, he’s horrible memories of this hole as well. I don’t think it was that bad a shot, was it? No, I don’t think it was actually. It looked like he played it pretty good. Took six here yesterday. He was just coming over the knuckle. The biggest part of the downs slope there of that knuckle was right on his line and coming out of the Bermuda roof with no spin. It just accentuated the slope. It is all going to come down to this par five, this famous par five at the earth course. It’s an illustration there of how you can be really unlucky on 18. And you can also most shots are are being lucky where it’s a straightforward chip. But Iora was just coming over the strongest part of that hump right edge of the green. There will be no repeat victory for Tier Hat. He captured the first Rolex Series event this season in Dubai over at the Emirates. Batter is going to have to hang around and wait there for quite a bit for all that to unravel up there in the green before he hits his second shot. Yeah, I mean he’s been playing superbly on this back nine, has Fitzpatrick, he hasn’t dropped a shot today. You have to feel a little bit for Iora, but his time will come. And just to create a little bit more time to get a call for a referee to make sure whether that’s in or out of the penalty area. All this is creating a little bit of a traffic jam back down the 18th. Fitzpatrick waiting to hit his second. Mroy and Nego Patterson waiting to drive. ball was touching the the red line there. Mark the referee is told him touching means that it’s in the hazard. So, because it’s the second bounce, he now gets to place it on the spot or nearest the spot where it bounced. The second time he dropped it. Mark Linton, the chief referee this week, is uh helping out. Not so sure if that sprinkler looks to be left of his line. So if he wants, he could well get the putter at this one. If he can’t place it on the spot, he has to go to the nearest spot. That’s Ludvik heading towards the range and clipping away a few wedges or something and keeping loose dramatic. We knew it was going to be an exciting day. What a very bunch feel coming into this last round with such quality players at the top. It was a question of who were going to be the runners and riders to separate themselves. And Fitzpatrick looks like he may have want maybe the one getting over the line by a short head. But he’s a lot of golf to play between here and the end of this hole. He’s dropping it higher up the slope there for some reason. So Mark is giving him relief from something else now. Look like the sprinter could well be in his way. I wouldn’t like to be standing back down that fairway there on the second shot wondering about all the possibilities that could unfold. Yes, you would. Yes, you would because even if you take five or six, you’re still making a huge check, Andrew. when you Oh, that’s true. Yeah, I forgot about that. Yeah, should have thought about money. He’s been there a while, hasn’t he? Yeah, I’m interested to know what yardage he’s got. He is a really good fairway wood player is Matt Fitzpatrick. It is the fifth shot for Iora. Well, it cost him a shot yesterday and it is going to cost him another shot today, which is a great shame. But, uh, he’ll take a lot of confidence overall out of a week like this. And, uh, mixing it with the top players on the DP World Tour, some of the top players in World Golf. Oh, yeah. It’s going to be another top 10. And it’s going what’s that 10th top 10 this season for the young star. Just a superb 2025. I mean this could be a very exciting playoff. I mean if Fitzpatrick does not make his birdie and Maroy joins that group and maybe Raasmus as well. We could have six players in that playoff. 72 on Sunday for Tier Hatton who as I say won that Hero Dubai Desert Classic right at the start of the year. Played his part a huge part in that Beth Paige victory for the European team but hasn’t quite done enough to challenge Mroy for the race to Dubai. Six of the last and around a 70 for the 21-year-old Spaniard from whom there will be much more to come. They will wander off that 18th green. We can go back down the hole to Fitzpatrick Anthony and a long way. 243 the front 270 and change all love. So he’s got the front. The angle this green makes this pretty demanding as we know. Uphill into the breeze for Fitzpatrick. All right. Short right. Is it short right or is it pin high right? Just short of the bunker. And that’s a good leave. He’s given himself a great chance. Much more favorable than being in the bunker there for Fitzpatrick. He’s hit some wonderful chips particularly at the start of play today. And uh he’s got a lot of green to work with there. Back to the tea. Stiff breeze now. It’s about as strong as it’s been all week. It did show up. You got to hit this down the left hand side. You don’t want to miss it left. Rory missed it left yesterday and he couldn’t even advance it out of the rough. That’s how thick it is. The rough’s like barb wire left. What shape do you hit? Are you game enough to aim at the narrow stream that meanders its way through the middle of this fairway and turn it from right to left to penetrate the breeze? Or do you aim it down the left and peel one? I kind of like the latter. Oh, 82 ball speed. That water’s in play with that. Oh, soft bounce. That’s okay. Just about. Now it’s A1. Which route does Mroy take? All I have to do is look at his eyes and uh like he’s going right. I’ve got it into the fan. 292 playing 300 maybe more. It’s strong now. It’s a wall of wind. flat out. 87. Ayora had 88 and carried it. Maroy doing the same. Brilliant shot there from Maroy. Finally finding a fairway. What a shot. Well played. Yeah, what a T-shot as well. That is long, man. Let me tell you, it’s a wall of win now. Long and tight into that. Remind reminds me of the T- shots he hit at Augusta when he went on to win. Absolutely. Just when he needed it. How often do we say that about Maroy? That’s when you think it’s going away from him. He’s able to pull off the shots and he’s going to have to do it here. And he’s also got to hope that Mattress Patrick doesn’t do what he’s done so well today and get it up and down. He’s leading strokes gained around the green on the DP World Tour this year. So even though he chips kh-handed right over left, he does it very effectively. As it stands, all six of those players you see on the mini leaderboard bottom right of your picture could yet win the DP World Tour Championship. Lie is good everyone for Fitzpatrick. It’s downgra digging for it would be much harder than it actually is. Right to left, up and over that tier. This is doable for someone as good as he is around the greens. All right. It has been a wonderful, wonderful season, hasn’t it, for Rory Mroy. He’s on course for the race to Dubai title. Momentum, I think. Yeah. Yeah. downgrain makes it so much easier. It will release on Impus Patrick. Oh, there’s the built-in release, but has he got as much of it as he thought? That’s excellent under the circumstances. He was watching early play today. He had a similar up and down on the first and second to get two brilliant shots. And that was a third one. I helped as Anthony said, the grass is going with him. So he didn’t have to increase the speed of the club at the bottom of the ball and risk losing control of it. Popped it forward and it ran out beautifully. Well, he’s won this championship twice and he may well have that part to make it a hat-tick of titles on the earth course. Maroy and Nurgard Peterson standing on the fairway. Should he make it? Well, no. They’ll meet Eagle. [Applause] gave it a goal. Nice little touch. It’s been a good week for Raasmus. Mroy goes through the numbers. Oh, there. Fleetwood and Caner staying loose down on the range. your phone. Well, as well as he’s played on this back n Fitzpatrick and he really has played well, particularly his arm play, he has missed a few holdable putts inside 10 ft. Can he make the most important one? Take over Caner and Fleetwood out of the equation. Brilliant. Wonderful round of golf on Sunday to close out possibly his season. Maybe for the win as well. 66 for Fitzpatrick. Bogey free and he now has set the target which only Niggo Pison and Mroy can hope to catch. Get the pace to his routine. That’s a brilliant finish. Brilliant round of golf there from Fitzpatrick. Really well watched out. [Applause] And a great finish to the year when you think about how he turned it on, qualified for the or got into the RDER Cup. He had a really good RDER Cup himself. [Applause] pretty sure they uh they’ll be aware of the situation now. 250 yds. Plenty of artillery to cover that distance. Will he take it on or rely on a 40 footer to the right hand side? Started well left. It’s got the cut. Is it cutting too much? No, it isn’t. There you go. What a shot. Great shot there. He’s played some terrific golf the last six holes to dig himself out of a hole as Raasmus. Well played. And Maroy played a wonderful second shot into T- shot into 17. 235 trying to feather a little five fivewood in there. A little spanner. Needs height. That’s why he’s got the five. Will he cut it? A big old sligging fader. Get it to come down like a sack of spuds if you can. [Applause] Old hats. It’s not over yet. Importantly, he’s going to get a read as well from his plane partner. What a wonderful finish to what’s been a an outstanding year for Rory Mroy Makarai pulling out the shots again when he really needs it. When he gets behind the eightball, he seems to go again. Wonderful T- shot into 17 followed by a wonderful T-shot up 18 and then this. What a brilliant shot. Absolutely brilliant. You mentioned it. And this was Rory Mroy at 18 at the K Club. A victory in his home open. One of the many highlights this year for Mroy as he took on V2 Yakam Laragan in a playoff at half the length, but it’s a similar length of as well. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the 18th at 25 BP World Tour winner, a four-time Rolex Series winner, the Masters Champion from Northern Ireland, Rory Moy. And please welcome a hotel planner challenge graduate and making his debut on the earth call this week from Denmark Rasmus Nore Peterson. It’s worth remembering that as well that he was back on the hotel planet tour last season. He won three times. He topped the road to Morca rankings. Now here he is in the mix at the DP World Tour Championship. They are watching in the scorer’s hut. I think both players focus was really narrowed by Matt Fitzpatrick making that birdie and forcing the issue to really take on the shot with 100% commitment. Both pulling it off and we’re of the highest quality shots. those two in there. Both putts don’t move a heap, but surely surely they must come from the right. [Music] He’s four under the last four holes. Raasmus, Nego, Pison. He seemed to be out of the contest and all of a sudden he is right back in it. for Eagle and to tie Fitzpatrick. Oh, you thought with the pace lack of it charging at the hole it had enough to take the turn. There was none there. Great performance though. That is a tremendous finish and that may just secure him. One of those 10 PGA Tour cards as well projected from 19th to 14th on the race to Dubai. He steps aside and Mroy has the eagle putt also to tie Fitzpatrick. Half an inch outside right. That’s it. at the end of this wonderful season. Has he got one more magical stroke in him? [Applause] Well, well, well. It’s going to be a fitting finish to a wonderful race to Dubai season as Matt Fitzpatrick and Rory Mroy will go again down the 18th to decide the DP World Tour Championship. [Applause] stop it. That’s just classic Maroy when he really needed it. He had the tournament in control playing the 12th hole, two shots ahead. Looked like he was going to run off into the distance, but he stalled. He made mistakes and then just when everybody thought he was out of it, he roars back into a playoff with three phenomenal shots there on 18 as well as a brilliant T-shot into 17. He really is box office this guy very shortly. Please state where you are with us and the Oh, lovely stuff. It’s Patrick. Come on. Brilliant. Quite brilliant. But that’s what he is. Rory Mroy. That’s what he brings to the party. Moments like that. Well done. Genuine all we will hold by whole playoff will continue to play the 18th. Just remember we will change the order play here. Sure. All right. Back. Well, I thought he might change his strategy here because the whole dynamic has changed. This is match play now and he knows Maroy is going to launch driver. He’s sticking to the 3-wood. Yeah, I I still see that Andrew for Fitzpatrick. I don’t believe he can carry the right side. If anything, the wind is stronger for a really good wedge player. It’s a funny one. Three, threewood, but it works in regulation. Patrick has had a bogey and a birdie in two pars. Maroy, an eagle and a birdie in two pars. It’s going to be in the rough and it depends how it’s sitting. We can’t see it behind the trees. We’re probably going to sit down and there’ll be a layup from there. Oh, well, maybe not. Good light. Oh, he’s a stubborn boy. Wall is bang on. The wind has up the ante and he covered the stream by about 8 yards in real time. He’s won three and lost five playoffs in the DP World Tour. [Music] And Mroy finds the penalty area. Yeah, he has found it. All right, DM, it will be still on in three for him. Certainly advantage uh Fitzpatrick now at this stage particularly with the good light that he has. He might even get it up around the green. Three of his four wins worldwide this year have come in extra holes but uh a mistake from Mroy off the tea. The early advantage to Fitzpatrick. There’s Rory’s ball. A very narrow fairway up that right side. Plenty ball speed. 189 was going to carry the water. He was 187 earlier, but uh this time a little bit too much draw on it. Stream runs right across the center of the ferry dissecting it. So you got to choose to go left or right. Fat’s got to be thinking birdie. I know your opponent is in the water. It’s easy to take your foot off the gas and think, “Okay, I’ll just coast it up there and make a and make a par and maybe win this playoff.” But you got to stay in the front foot against a player the caliber of Maroy. Particularly being so far up. Remember, he’s only going to be maybe 240 or so from the green from there. And that’s going to be comfortably on in three. Lie is good. It’s Patrick 282 all up. I don’t see him. Well, the angle’s okay from there. I’m not sure. I think he plays just short of this and relies on the wedge game. Maybe 50 short. Try and pitch it on top with a third. I’m not sure off the down slope you’d have a go at this. It’s a big ask. Of course, the down slope does actually sort of coax that ball out to that sort of short front right location that Anthony’s talking about. This is the Yeah, hands on hips. Fitzpatrick studies the lie and works out his strategy. Roy will be taking a penalty drop. Yeah, I think you ignore what Rory’s doing. I think you play your game. I like something 40 short and a Rana pitch off that down slow for Fitzpatrick. Another lover of that play if he goes at it from 288. Yeah, Rory will have a similar yardage to the one that he had in regulation play. So he knows the shot. Just watch it go in here. So he’s across the hazard. Yeah. At that stake. So two club lengths from the point of entry. Or he can go back as long as he wants keeping that point in line with the flag. And that means he can get it on the fairway. Yeah. He’s got about 233 his second shot roughly. I suspect right. laying up and easy. Goodness me. You heard him say there. Just heard him say it’s come out spinny. Was it puffed up into the wind? That’s why it didn’t go to yardage. So, not long has he been lucky to carry the water, but he’s actually going to be further back than he was anticipating and hoping. It’s made Rory’s a little easier [Music] for us. Yeah, it’s the red steak. I’m just going to see which one. Nice and slowly. All right. So, what’s that? The first one up there past the bridge. I think he’s come a little bit further back, Andrew, to try to make sure he’s on the fairway, but I’m sure he could have from where it went in, he could have been on the fairway, too. Well, yeah, I thought it was up there about the stick. Anyway, the referee’s there, so there’s there’s no danger about the drop, but flags on the right hand side there. All the players are using that as a guide to make sure because they’re down in a valley the direction of the wind and also the strength of it. [Applause] 234 yds. You were one out Andrew. Good try though, man. It’ll be the same club. The fivewood. The ball is slightly below his feet and he knows all about that. That’s why I dropped it there cuz he wants to play take a little off this. I need a high left to right fader and get it to come down softly. He’s got good vibes for this shot. He was successful last time. [Applause] [Music] All right. And the bunker down the right hand side. It’s going to test his skills to get up and down there for the par. Yeah, he’s a long way from the flag from there. Bunker is just on the front edge of the green. Eats in a little bit up the green, but not by a lot. So, must be a good 40 50 yards there. And he’s got to come up a tear as well. Once again, advantage Fitzpatrick. Yeah, lovely lovely clean line. Nice angle with the pin really. I think it’s just under a four wedge uphill into the breeze. So, he’s obviously gone for his favorite number. I think he would have possibly played a little bit further up, but I think he’s gone for the favorite number around that 130 mark. Was the ball close to going in the water with the second shot or just angle? Yeah, it wasn’t far away. It was only a couple of yards. Had a chance to go left as well. Just caught a bit of a flat spot. a little bit surprised. He might have gone another 15 20 further. It’s wider, but the wedge game is his thing. Puff a breeze into remember that little swale just shot left the flag stick that put paid to Aoro. He’s just got to watch out for that with any spin. Yeah, Mariah has certainly opened the door to think that he doesn’t have to be overly aggressive here. Five may win it now. So, I’m expecting this one to be a bit little bit long and a little bit right here. A little bit cautious, but at the same time give himself a chance for birdie. Doesn’t have to be gung-ho. Surely past the flag pole is the play, the easier putt. Takes a the slope out of play as well. Gives him that birdie p. Well, well, well. We’ve seen a few players over there today and they haven’t found it too difficult from over there, but of course, a lot more pressure now. So that was a foot off the gas shot there from uh Fitzpatrick. Yeah. Well, he’s been great around the greens, but yeah, that was that’s a mistake. You don’t want to give Maroy a whiff of blood. This is a hard shot, it must be said. The ball above his feet, which means sometimes one takes too much sand and you come out well short. He needs to fly it all the way onto a a little hump, one bounce and then trickle it down the slope. If he gets really greedy and wants to pick this somewhat, he can fly it all the way. But that is risky. You could knife it. But taking too much sand, well, that can happen more often than not on this occasion. And he can’t he can’t sort of chunk and release it up the up that slope. I think let’s just have a look at his eyes. He’s kind of having a look where I said, like just he’s looking at that little crest, that little hump. Whether he takes too much sound, I don’t know if it’ll have enough momentum from this range to get like 40 ft of release, Andrew, up that slope and over. I think you have to sort of play it aggressively and pop it into that up slope and hope it trickles over the hill. left of the flag feeds off the green as well. So probably have to air a bit on the right hand side [Applause] on top of the ridge. And he hit it. He knew he didn’t make the right contact with it that he needed. It was a very, very difficult golf shot. It’s quick. We know it’s quick underneath the level of the green as well. So, will need a little bit of elevation just to take a bit of pace off this. He will take some time. And there’s a lot of noise around the back of this screen. He does catch the slope. Super. tightly. Very, very tightly. Well played, Matpatrick. Surely that’s a five assured. So, can Maroy produced heroics again? There was anyone else in saying no. Well, if he does not get in, it’s going to be the longest put he’s hold. Can he go to the well again? [Applause] [Music] Not this time. Bogey six for Rory Mroy. But he has secured the race to Dubai title for the seventh time in his career. A fitting finish to this season of seasons for the Northern Irishman. And Matthew Fitzpatrick has this part to win his third DP World Tour Championship. The hattick is secured for Fitzpatrick and a nice finish to his year as well which started so poorly but has certainly come good in the second half. They are both winners.
