What happens when an 18 handicapped golfer plays with the most buttery butter knife irons in golf? Maybe me and Tiger Woods have something in common. And maybe I I’m just better with blades. Oh my pure of the century. Talk about the shots that keep you coming back. Oh my days. Might be the best golf thing I’ve ever made. We found the center of the club face. That is the wedge shot of a man who did not want to go in the bunker. Oh yeah. Who are you and what have you done with Dennis? Get a zoom on that cameraman. So here we go people. Wittington Heath Golf Club. But what a venue. E7 TWWs in the bag. No driver. Putter and wedges to help me out. Hole one people. Let’s see how this goes. Right. Hole number one. It’s quite it’s a nice start to be honest. Little dog leg left. Not too long for Ryan. Let’s see what happens. We might play well. We might We might just keep these clubs if we have a good round today. Little bit of a healy one, but she will do. Right. Rough. We made contact on the first. Come on. 172. Oh, we’ve got long old approach on the first, but we didn’t come here to lay up. 172 yards. I have no idea how far these clubs go. 172 five iron out the rough. Oh god. Hello. Oh, it’s a perfect layup. I always said laying up a play. There it goes. But we didn’t come here to lay up. We can’t We can’t pure them all, can we? Sit. Sit it. Okay. It’s a little bit spicy. Hell of a strike. Just a bit too much. But we’re putting. We are putting two put bogey on the first, ladies and gentlemen. Is that not what you came here for? That’s what I came here for. One thing about Wittington Heath. Unbelievable winter course and the greens are tough. Every time I’ve played here, the greens have had me. There’s basically no flat puts. This is falling off a cliff to the left. Oh, that is Binley, ladies and gentlemen. Come on. You know we mean business when we line up the twoft put, one and a half foot put even. inch he gets and a bogey. The bogey man all one is out the way and they’re feeling nice. I’ve not hit some great shots so far, but they’re feeling nice. What today might turn into is what happens when a high handicapper takes the woods and driver out of the bag. Maybe that’s the lesson we’re actually going to learn is that we don’t lose any balls and we just play for bogeies. Who knows? Par three coming up next though. 170 this par three. Um the pin is right at the back as I think just getting on this green would be a win. So I’m going to hit a six into a little bit of wind. 170. The pin is right at the back. It’s a tough green. It pretty much is up a hill all the way to the back. Bunkers absolutely everywhere. Oh my days. Just get on. Get on the front. Oh, we’re on the green, ladies and gentlemen. For for the first time of the video, we found the center of the club face. We have got the biggest port you’ve ever seen in your life. But it’s green in regulation. We’re actually about 10 ft on. So, happy days, people. Happy days. I probably need to club up a bit, seeming as it’s kind of winter. Go hard. Go very hard. Stay up. Oh, down it comes. Oh dear. Undone. Undone by the greens. This tier here is so much more severe now that I’m standing here. It really needed hitting that last pot. And this is no easy two put from here either. That’s a good put. That’s a very good put. Come on. Let’s go. It’s got a bit of movement in it, people. This has got a little bit of movement. Right edge with pace, I think, is the play. Or I could I could leave this slow, believe it or not. Come on. To keep the bogey train going in. That was a big moment. That was a big moment for the round there, but it’s back to back bogeies. Let’s go. Let’s keep it rolling. Okay, hole three, par four. Ever so slight, gentle meander to the right. Not the longest, so you have to look at these ones as as my chances, I suppose, getting on with these iron. So, four iron in hand, fair weight is a premium here. bit towy, but it’ll be absolutely fine. Absolutely fine. That’s the kind of shot that with my irons, I probably wouldn’t lose too much distance, but there I’ve definitely lost about 30 40 yards. But we’ll take it, people. She’s in play. Right next to the 150 mark. I’m just going to have to pull this out because it’s might just get clipped if I push it. 150. Oh, wind’s helping. So, seven iron. Should be the club. Chunk and run. Oh, the tree. I don’t I think if I don’t clip the tree there, I have a chance at running on. It’s not the worst shot in the world. We’ve got a nice little nice comfortable chip, but yeah, just a little bit chunky. Okay, little delicate one. Um, zero green to work with. Bunker gaping. So, yeah, just looking to get it past the flag really and to put from here. It’s not position A to say the least. Oh, a bit nippy. Sit, sit, sit, sit, sit, sit. That is the wedge shot of a man who did not want to go in the bunker. Little bit skinny. We got a tough tough potentially chip from there to be honest. Not our best work people. But we move. That is going to have to go and go. Bit duffy people. I’ll be honest. It’s a little bit duffy. Right. How how to make a relatively short path four hard work by yours truly. Take the hill. Do it. Little bit under hit. Oh dear. Right. The ball didn’t really move at all. So this is straight straight down the gullet. Boom. Boom. That’s a good two put. Good two from there. But it is a doo. It’s a duvé. We move. Next hole coming up. Three holes played. Four over through three. Not too bad. I think there’s room for improvement there. It my target maybe unrealistic is to go around bogey golf. So nine over par is what we’re aiming for. Let’s see what we can do. This hole is a big old dog leg to the right. Um, it’s normally a driver straight over the trees. Um, but uh, yeah, 4:00 a.m. for me. Left of the bunkers is where I’m hoping to go. I mean, I absolutely smoked it. Left rough. That’s a big hit, by the way. That was out the screws, I’ll tell you that much. But we’ve got we’ve made the approach even longer. But once again, ladies and gentlemen, center of the club face. Not too shabby. Okay, line. Okay, just a long old ways in 166 to the flag, which I I think it looks middle. I’ve got six iron anyway. All the danger seems to be short, so Go. Run. Skip. Jump. It’s doing it, you know. Get on the green. It’s on. It’s on. It might roll all the way to the back, but listen. You take it when you get it, won’t you? Am I right? Am I right? But this is a We’re in a good spot here, people. I’m eyeing up and up and down here. We’ve got pitching wedge. Little chippy bump and run number. Go ball release. Yeah, not bad, is it? They say a lot of it is psychology. Like 90% of putting is in your head. So, we’re going to get out our head and start believing that we’re going to make putts. People up the hill. It’s not going to do loads. Slightly off the right. Don’t think too much. Step up and hit it. Great read. What a read. And you know what? It’s a good bogey. We move on to the next hole. Back on the bogeies. That’s where we want to be. But we are one over our target right now. So, we need a par. We need a par somewhere. Somehow some way we need to park. Fairly straightforward. I mean, it’s not the shortest, but there’s not too much danger. This is what I’ve been worried about is the long long par fours and the par fives. Really, I’ve got four iron. We need the distance. Oh, yeah. Thinn the hell out of it. But she’s drawing down the middle. You take that one. Little skinny draw. Little thin draw number. Come on. Okay, sixiron. Now just kind of don’t spray it into Narnia really. Oh yeah, you take that. Ladies and gentlemen, two shots back to back and we are still on the fairway. Unbelievable scenes on the Bogey Golf Channel. Come on. Fairway golf. Fairway golf. Some player. I’m some player. This is the second time I’ve filmed this video. Maybe I’m just a blades player. Maybe me and Tiger Woods have something in common. And maybe I I’m just better with blades. Is that out of the question? We’re chipping on. We’ve played this hole. Very sensible. We’ve kind of thinned both our iron shots, but who cares really? 70 yards in. Nip a little gap wedge in there for the lads. That is such a good golf shot. Dennis, who are you and what have you done with Dennis? Get a zoom on that cameraman. What are we doing here? I’m nipping wedges. I’m hitting four irons off the tea. Come on, the boy. Boys and girls, not quite grilling rag, but um a long par is always going to be tough with irons. So, fact that we’ve got a nice little 15t put for par, I will take and run. You better believe that. Sit. Sit down. Sit down. Okay. Broke a lot more than I thought it would. I have given myself an absolute slider. And I’d always prefer a right to left put than a left to right. Let me know in the comments if you feel the same. Something about it fading away from me is so much harder to trust. Come on. I’m committing to the putts. That’s all I can ask of myself. Just commit. Another bogey with this challenge. Long par fours. Bogeies are my friends big time. Par three coming up. This is where I can pick up a par with a good shot. Right. So, par three. And it’s a nice shortish one here. 120 yards I’ve got to the flag. I’m going to hit nine iron because this nine iron is obviously going to have more loft than mine. So, let’s see what we can do here. Oh, be the club. Be the club. Hydro. Oh yes. Oh yes. That will have zipped back as well. Do you know when you nip it, you nip it and you know it’s a good one. Ladies and gentlemen, that was a good one. It’s not the biggest green this. It’s deceiving. So about 20 ft down the hill, right to left. It’s diving off a cliff to the left. Oh, I had to have that. Honestly, my start line was like here. Yeah, that’s that’s one thing I’m not good at and probably of other high handicappers is ports where you have to really like get creative almost expecting it to die on a hill and then take the hill. I really struggle to commit to those kind of ports. What a fall. What a t-shot. What a hole. Come on. What a paw. Now we’re cooking. Now we’re cooking. Okay. Right. We’re into the fan here. Power four. Come on. Chunk and run. Go ball. Go. Yeah, that was about literally about half a foot fat. Okay, we’re playing sensible here. We are not reaching the green and all the danger is up that way anyway. So, I’ve got an AI in. Let’s just focus on strike here. Lovely. Perfect. 83 yards according to the laser. Sit. Sit. Sit. Lovely. Come on. I’ve not swung a wedge full yet, so that was quite scary. Now break. Speed was lovely. Over the brake massively though. And in for the bogey. Bogey golf again. Listen, you know what the target was. Let’s see. Let’s see if we can execute. Two holes to go. Okay. Right. Here we go. Two holes to go. This one’s fairly straightforward. Par four down the hill. Not the longest. Not the most tricky. Come on, Dennis. Holy shank of the century. No, no, no, no, no, no. Just when you thought this is it. This is my chance. Right, people. We are hacking out of the mulch here. I’ve got nine iron. We need loft. Yeah, that’s not great. I’m really bad at that. Whenever I hit out the rough, I end up fattening it so much. And I think it’s to do with me trying to hit harder and then I go to my probably my worst tendency, which is going on my tiptoes on the down swing on the right on the trail side. And it’s just body and low position. Low point is all over the shop. Well, about 180 yards is downhill, but I think five iron is the play here. Long iron with the blades. Oh my. Pure of the century. Get on the green. Oh my god. That might be the best golf swing I’ve ever made. High handicapper P7TW 180 yards long iron swing. Holy. Ignore everything I’ve said. We weren’t pin high. We absolutely smoked it. It’s like a 200 yard five eye in not pin high. I don’t know why I was waxing lyrical about pin high. We’ve got like 30 40 foot monster up the hill. Talk about the shots that keep you coming back. Oh my days. That might be one of my best. Stop. Yeah, you’ll take I mean you’ll take that. You’ll take that from down there. This is missable. So again, commit to the line. Trust the line. Be the line. I told you. Just one of them ports that’s just so missable after all that. It’s actually El Dubé on a quite an easy hole. But listen, we’ll take it. That that that shot that five iron is enough to keep me back. I’ve got some credit in the bank with that one. Right, we finish on a par five here. So, it’s chances if we can screw our head on here. It’s chances at a par potentially. It’s going to be a big old slug getting on even in three. It all starts with a good T- shot. Four iron in hand. Oh yes. Strike. Oh, we love that. Absolutely love that for me. Lump it down there again. I’ve got five five iron this time. A little bit easier to hit. I think either way we’re going to have a long ways in. Lovely. Who is this golfer? Seriously, I am striping these blades. Five iron, four iron, five iron. Two of them being off the fairway. Absolutely nutted. Honestly, it’s that this is why I get frustrated with golf because I I know most high handicappers can’t do that. I know that. And there’ll be people in the comments probably saying, “Oh, you’re never a high handicapper.” I know that my I I sometimes look better than my handicap, but I’m still just so bad at some of the other parts and I’m just super inconsistent. This is what’s most frustrating. I know the abilities there, the athleticism. It’s just in between the ears. I am a mess. 158 yards. Oh god. Okay. Long ways home. Oh, it’s flaring towards the bunker. Yeah, greenside bunker. That was so out to in. You would not believe. Ladies and gentlemen, we’re actually not in the bunker. Thank god to be honest. I’ve managed to actually Don’t say it before I hit the shot. Hit the shot. and men confirm. Um, but yeah, we’re lucky we’re chipping on over the bunker. Come on, Dennis. Hello. Where the hell did that come from? Play the contours. That was a little bit I don’t know if that was a toe. Was that a toe shank? I think it might have been. Oh dear. Sometimes it’s the easiest shots, these fiddly ones that do me in. Anyway, we’re putting that. You better believe we’re putting that. No. Whoa. Stop. A bit of a sweaty one now. Fairly straightforward two. He was off the green, so technically it’s not a two put, but it feels like a two put. Learned anything from that. That was fun to field anyway. I think what it does show is blades aren’t impossible to play. I’ve done two videos now with blades, and I haven’t played significantly worse with the irons. It’s actually been like three put in short game. You don’t lose as many strokes as you think. So, you know, I think there’s a lot of marketing that goes on. But thank you guys as always for watching the video. If you haven’t subscribed already, make sure you smash the subscribe button. I’ll see you in the next one.

You know what clubs you should play? The ones you have the most confidence it and hit the best.
I remember when you did this last time! Great video. Thoroughly enjoyed watching 👏🏼
Well played, nice ball striking!
I'm a bit of an old fart for most of your viewers, but if you fancy a game I'd be happy to play you and your modern blades against me and a set of blades from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s or 1980s, whichever you like. I could even loan you a persimmon driver for the challenge.
I think you should keep them in Dennis as blades help you to concentrate more and they do look great…. 🌟🤩🥳🎊
Great vlog Dennnis, they truly are fantastic looking clubs.
I'm thinking of starting a youtube channel for myself, do you have any tips?
Nice one.
Best golf channel out there!
Just a simple❤ m8 keep the vids coming.
The enthusiasm over a bogey tap in is infectious (and oh-so relatable). Great video, Dennis.
Hi Dennis find a set of Wilson staff fg17, or a set of Mizuno MP32 and give it a go, if you want to try ill send you the MP32, then you will realise how far you've come on your golf game
Great fun as ever – would love to have seen a full 18!
Well done Dennis. Some of them iron shots were pure and sweet
Dennis, Where has your LAB putter gone?
