And it is the newly crowned world champions Kiman Ho and Sang J up against the Asian games gold medalist Satwick Siraj Ranki ready and Churag Shetty. Well, as far as the men’s double score from quarterfinal stage was concerned, only four seeds, but one in each quarter, which meant that uh three seeds and four different flags were present at semi-final stage, incidentally a quarterfinal stage. Men Halls was the most diverse of all five disciplines having six different nationalities involved. But it is a tantalizing final being set up between the world champions and the Asian Games gold medalists. Well, as far as the race to the world tour finals is concerned, only the one, two, and four on that list passed the second round here at the China Masters. Kimho and Sing J and Aaron Char. And so we we eek by virtue of their semi-final. The Malaysians will stay as they are at 1 and two. But to win or lose today’s final, Ranky Ready and Shetty will go up one place to number three. [Music] [Applause] Sai from Korea. The world champions crowned last month in Paris. Kim Juan Ho and Source Young J. For Source Young J, it was a second consecutive world championship gold medal in the men’s doubles with two different partners. He’s also the defending champion here at the China Masters Sang J having won last year with Jinongia [Music] and the Asian Games gold medalists won here on Chinese soil in the city of Hango. Satwig Saj Ranky Ready and Churag Shetty beaten finalists of this event two years ago when they lost out to the Chinese pair of the Angadep. Well, this will be just a second meeting between these two pairs. The first time they met was in the semi-final of the very first World Tour event of 2025, the Malaysia Super 1000 event. 2110 215 it was to the Koreans who went on to win the title. won the title 5 years, 10 months, and 11 days after their last individual tournament together because they did play together back in 2017. Yep. Service the side. Thank you, Sine. I need you to help me out there because I was glancing down at my notes. Yeah, the toss of the coin. You were right in your previous predictions that Shetty whenever they win the points they choose to receive. Kim is 26 years of age and this their first China Masters as a pair. They’re enjoying their seventh consecutive week as world number ones and as we saw they’re number one’s on the race to the world tour finals. Not that they need a qualifying position because as world champions they’ll get an automatic invitation. Source J is the older of the two. He turned 28 earlier this month. And at the 2023 World Championships, he won two gold medals. the men’s doubles with Kang and the mix doubles with Chu Jun. This incredibly their ninth final in only their 12th tournament of the year. But look how they’ve had to battle. In the first round it was a repeat of the World Championship final. And then Sion had to play against his former partner K. And then in the quarterfinal against the former world champions Hokim and Kobayashi. And then in the semifinal against the exciting new Indonesian pair of Alen and Fury. The semifinal were the only match that didn’t go the full distance. This is Churag Shetty who is 28 years of age from Mumbai formerly known as Bombay. It’s the taller of the two at 186 at 6’1. Well, they’ve always done well at this tournament. This is the third consecutive and they’ve been in one previous final and a semifinal and they were in the final last week in Hong Kong. The first final for almost 16 months. as they all matches in two straight games. A ranking ready who had a birthday last month turned 25 and back in good form as we look at our umpire Jakobsinberg from Denmark. Susia Fang from China. The service judge Tan Kenhur on the coach’s bench for the Indian combination. They’ve had so many injury problems since the Olympic Games and personal problems too. Family bererement. It’s lovely to see them playing so well again. Ladies and gentlemen, on my right, Timo and S Korea [Applause] and my left Shira and Satik India. Give one to serve out. So it is the reigning world champions Kim Wanho and Source Young J nearest to us getting this men’s doubles final underway against the Asian Games world medalist and former world number ones. 18 weeks in total as world number ones. the Indian combination. Two. Well, when we were watching the world champions yesterday, Steam, we were talking about Source Young Jay and how he manages to find the gaps. His tactical awareness seems absolutely superb. And I wonder if if that could be a deciding factor today. Yeah, the ability to mix the style up, play two, three fastpaced shots, then take the pace off for two shots and um secure the initiative there. two three. Yeah, I think that the Indians, they also played well against uh so and char they were really really u strong in the flat game. So that’s probably where the battle is going to be. And I think the the Indians, they’ve got to keep moving forward even if um it’s a little bit uncomfortable in the flat game to sort of gain ground or gain mark and get closer to the net to um to get the angles to put it away. Service called. Service for cold too high on machete. That’s not the first time this week he’s been called. No, he often gets called. Yeah, could see a little lift of that left arm and the left arm is holding the shuttle. Well, that’s a perfect example of what I was alluding to a moment ago. replacement. Hey, go go go five. Well, there’s no doubt I think that the Indian pair have the more ferocious attack. Yeah, that’s for sure. But then I also think that the Koreans have got a better defense. It’s probably the world’s best attack against the world’s defense. Best defense, which should make it a fascinating encounter. Yeah, great play. Yeah. And once again, isn’t it very kind of the players to just produce a rally emphasizing what we’ve just been talking about? Yeah, I think it’s deserved after all the times where we ran into the commentator’s curse. Good play by Ranki Ready. He played the soft shots there, putting it below the tape. That’s super. [Applause] Just enough pace on that return of serve to make it awkward. That’s That’s a super serve. Hold and flick over the head right into the deep just the inside edge of the line. I don’t think he could have placed that any better. Seven all. Wait a minute. Hey, brilliant. Supernatural from very alert there. [Music] Nice. Good rally. Fabulous rally. Wow. Yeah, that was a fantastic rally. It’s not often we see the attack change so many times in men’s double. Six of the last seven points to the Indian combination and to the midame interval with the advantage. Seven of the last eight points. What a great spell by the Indian pair. The last one is very deep. Don’t have just unless you take early when smash this you want to drive you must follow the next one. So the coaches have had their say and the players return to court. 11 7 117 the advantage. The former world number ones against the current world number ones. There’s been many more errors from Kim one horse racket today than yesterday where he was almost a a human wall on the front court. That’s very quick onto the net from Ranki ready. Chris is amazing. nine of 10 points. 10 of 11 points. Totally dominating the service uh situation. Yeah. Shetty and Ranki ready really alert after the serve. What do you reckon the longest rally is so far? Yeah, there was this very long rally with the um was it over 20 shots you reckon? Okay. I think so, but the average rally length is not um not very high. Good play. Huge gap. But I like the idea that they went for steepness in this case. Shetty, boy. That’s a beauty, isn’t it? Just guiding it across court with the left-hander. And that was what worked so well yesterday. So if I were in rank ready, I would just block it straight over the net. Confusion. Yeah. so much about getting it below the top of the tape. The pair who first does that has a clear advantage. Thank you. So now it’s four straight points to the Koreans. Brilliant defense. Fantastic defense. What rally? Oh, springs went and the Koreans on a run of five straight points right back in this opening game. [Music] Come on, break. almost landed in. There’s a challenge here. [Music] So is keeping the shuttle on his own side. Looks very confident. [Music] [Music] Yeah, he would be confident with that. Eagle eye s. What a great change. That’s remarkable. Six straight points and only one point in it now. Oh no, no, no. Close. Pushed it wide. Shetty was afraid his partner was going to play it. [Applause] Oh, that is just extraordinary. How on earth did that go over? How did physically on the laws of physics? How did this go over? That’s extraordinary. It’s It’s just the uh cork that’s on the other side and uh is decisive. Wow. [Applause] 15 all [Applause] from 714 down. Well, the hesitation from Sang Gay. I think he should have left it. I think he also thought that uh Kim Jan Hall perhaps was going to intercept and then it was just long enough. Oh, no. I think you’re right, Joe. I think he considered leaving it, but it wasn’t long at all. Well, we’ll never know, will we? We’ll never know. [Applause] That went under the net. But I like the fact that he had anticipated that he knew where it was coming and that the Koreans will think twice about playing that again. That return of serve. Oh, service is right now in one hole. 17. Good defense from Shetty. Good deception. Oh my god. This was when I saw the semi-finals in Paris in the world championships in men’s doubles. This was the final that I thought we were going to have. But Chenuang and Liui, they won it differently. They played a magnificent semi-final against Shetty and Ranki ready. But um now we get it as a final here instead. And that’s just exciting. Yeah. Come on. One more first. Very low in the forehand side. It wasn’t that low, but then uh the cross movement and still playing a quality shot. That’s magnificent. and into the lead. The Koreans at this crucial stage. Oh, that could be costly. Gerard Shetty, they they’ve got to sort of push the back court player forward after the service return. The Indians Koreans almost always trying to play the creative shot to the front court or midcourt area. Oh, it’s just wide. If they’ve been lucky with that one as well, that would have been crazy. Still again one [Applause] 19 all this rally for the game point opportunity. [Applause] The game point is for the current world number ones and world champions Kiman Hull and Sang J. It’s gone wide. Opening game to the world number ones Kim Ho and S Young J. remarkably coming from a 714 deficit in that opening game. Clearly wide that last shot. 22 minutes for the opening game. 2119. [Music] Hello. [Music] [Music] You can play in between. You play in between again. Play in between. You play open. You play in between. Then you what? He also play control. Control. This control push one more time again. Almost run. Last one. [Music] [Music] 20 seconds. 20 seconds. Well, the world champions Kim Jan Ho and Sang Jay did remarkably well in that opening game. 714 a drift and they won it 2119. and they now have the end that they prefer playing from. Yeah, they they want to play up against the drift so they can sort of rely more on their defense and the flat game. I do think though that the Indians don’t mind playing the near side either. I don’t think they’re planning on lifting too much. Nice. That’s a lovely shot from Gira Shetty. like that. Hold hold hold and and then that little flick and and the block before the last shot. 2 the Indian coach he looked a little bit upset in the interval between the first and the second game. upset with his players. I don’t think so. He just lost the opening game. two 3 Wait, wait, wait, wait. [Applause] 3 4 fantastic defense from Shurak Shetty. Fans loving seeing that again on the Giant screens. Oh, that’s a good one. Oh, how did you miss that? Well, that’s a huge pity from Shett’s point of view. What What was happening? Was the shuttle tumbling? Not that much. I think maybe he uh tried to play it a little bit too steep. Some of the um skills of the Koreans in the defense playing on his mind. Yeah, quite possibly. It is quite remarkable though that you know the Koreans used to play together 17, 18 and 19 but not many tournaments together and then they reformed their partnership at the beginning of this year. This is their ninth final in their 12th tournament of the year. That I mean that’s just astonishing. It is. I wonder if there’s there’s some countries they never really shuffle their combinations in the doubles disciplines and then there’s the Koreans that does it all the time. Yes. in all three doubles disciplines. Trying to find the right partnership. This time it was ranky ready for the between the leg shot. Hey, it’s difficult for the engines when they play below the top of the tape. Turn push on the return. Super smash. This goes the net for the game. [Applause] They’re really good, the Koreans to to play the the net from a position a little bit below the top of the tape. I I’m wondering if the men’s doubles should start practicing uh singles drop shots again to play them really really close. Seems like they’ve got great touch in that area. Well, no men’s doubles player has won two consecutive titles here at the China Masters. So Sue, he could be the first. He could be the first. It’s always nice if history is made, isn’t it? Records broken. Super play by uh Thank you, Ready. That cross there. Easy to find openings on the Korean side. Really nice one. Well set up. Steep attack from Shetty. Watching enough. [Music] 8. Two-point cushion for ranky ready in chetty. And that’s a lovely interception from Kimanho. He was taking a step forward. Ranky ready there. I think that’s the right idea. But um clever play by the Koreans. Yeah, that’s super. They have to close down the net, don’t they? Indian pair. Yeah. And they’re doing it well at the moment. Push on the service return and then both of them covering the U. Yeah. Not even the front court, but the net. Quick play quick. So much to learn in the service situation by watching these two pairs. Hey, he manages to control it even though there’s two players standing almost on the top of the table. Fantastic play by Su. Yeah. Unbelievable. That is ridiculously good from Sia J. That’s just amazing. Yeah, that’s basically the only response. Yeah. So, on a run of three straight points, the Koreans. Those in front 10. [Applause] It’s interesting, isn’t it, Steen? Because I thought that Kim Wanho, you’ve already mentioned it, he was like a human wall. Yeah. yesterday. I thought he was outstanding against Alfian and Fiki and we’ve hardly sort of seen an impact from him so far today. That is absolutely insane. SJ winning the rally. I was going to say with a moment of magic, but there were several moments of magic in that rally. This is just extraordinary. The defense there, then the net cord from the perfect net shot from S Young J. Absolutely. 11 10 the advantage with the Korean 11 Hey. So 1110 as play resumes. Oh, that’s a bit of an antilimax after such a tremendous rally before the midame interval. Then a service error. [Applause] So there’s trouble on both sides. That’s a great drive, isn’t it? Flat over the net, fast knock shetty over. Yeah. [Applause] That’s extraordinary. He was lying down on the court in one hole. Two shots while he was lying on the floor. One and another. [Music] Disappointment etched on the face of the Indian coach Tankimh Huh? They can’t they can’t afford to get carried away. Shetty and Ranky ready. They’ve been unlucky counted three times. That that’s pretty much the difference in this match. Otherwise, I think they’ve played really well, taking the pace off whenever they had the option. Well, prior to that rally, it had been eight of 10 points to the world champions from Yeah. Objection and pace there by Ranku ready. Much more patient in the attack than we normally see. That’s a good variation. That’s a nice serve. Yeah, brilliant. Reads the game so well. I can understand Shetty there. It seems like a good opportunity. It would have been a good opportunity against almost anybody else, but he’s a little bit below the top of the tape and immediately gets punished. [Applause] And these shots here, they’re important to have in your mind that the Koreans, they do make mistakes as well. Yeah, sometimes you can get sort all filled up with all the things that they’re saving and getting back. There is mistakes in it. 17 40 Thank you. [Applause] Hey Oh, it’s just long. [Applause] Oh, wow. I don’t think they’ll win that challenge. No, I also saw it long. Yeah. Way long. So, time for a little run by the Indian pair. Yeah. If we’re to have a third and deciding game, they need some u good services from Shiraaketti. Just a delicate little drop. A three-point advantage and three points away from the title for Kiman Ho and S Young J. That’s way more back line. Hit him with the drift. That’s long as well. It’s match point. Oh, there’s a there’s a challenge from the Indian pair. I suppose they might as well. Yeah. Yeah, good call line judge. It is match point opportunities. Five of them to be precise for Kiman Hall and Source Young. 20 15 [Applause] and the P is long. and delight for the Koreans and that’s lovely sportsmanship by the Indian combination they must be desperately disappointed ranking ready and Shetty having lost a second final in two weeks but I thought the battle between the attack and the defense and you said it was going to be fascinating it was indeed fascinating it was and I think um they’re going to be disappointed for a couple of days, but then they’re also going to realize that they are better than they’ve been for a long long while and there’s development in their game. These two here, they were amazing. I think the Indians are going to have nightmare about that 14-7 lead in the first game that they couldn’t convert. It could have changed the outcome of this match. I think now Kim Wanho is coming home to Shuang as a champion here in the China Masters [Applause] and also a reconfirmation of their world championship goal. The way I see it, yeah, they get so much back and that’s so intimidating for the opponents, even the world’s best attack. Yeah, couldn’t agree more. Their second Super 750 title of the year when contesting their fourth at this level. And considering this is only the fourth of six Super 750s, they’ve been in the final of all four so far. That in itself is fairly extraordinary. Confirmation of the score 2119 2115 in a match lasting 45 minutes. [Music] Well, we await for the prize presentation of the men’s doubles. [Music] [Music] Hey. [Music] [Music] We’re taking over. [Music] Hey, you ready? [Music] This is the place for everybody just 1 2 3 and come on break. I’m never breaking night. 1. [Music] So, as Kim Wanho and Source Young J take leave of center stage, a chance for us to reflect on finals day here at the leading China Masters. All started with mixed doubles. Um, Kuanro and Paul Sran beat the world champions Chenang Jerk and Tiwi in two straight games and in doing so became the first players from Thailand to win a title at the China Masters. Then it was women’s singles and Angsu Yang absolutely outplayed and outclassed Hanuer of China. What a bounce back after her disappointment at the World Championships. A 19th final, a 19th title in her last 21 finals. That’s extraordinary. Then it was women’s doubles and quite clearly the best final of the day. Jay Fan and Janu won their second title in two weeks, beating Kim and Kong in an hour and 17 minutes. 2113 in the deciding game. Then it was men’s singles and an all unseeded affair with two left-handers. It was Wang Hong Yang who became the first home winner of the men’s singles for eight years beating Lin Chun in two straight games. And the newly crowned world champions in the men’s doubles won their seventh title of the year beating Ranki Ready and Shetty in two straight games. So the tour moves on to Korea next week. Then it’s four tournaments in four weeks in Europe. The Arctic Open, Denmark Open, French Open, and an event in Sarugan. But that’s it from Shenzhen. From all of us here, and especially from Steam Pettison, and myself, Jill Clark. Until the next time, bye for now. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat up here. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Baby, you Thank you. [Music] [Music]
