Perfect. Shot at 59, but first round opening 60. How are you feeling? Good. I mean, honestly, anytime you could shoot double digits under par is is a bonus. So, um, yeah, looking forward to the rest of the week, but pleased with today. Doug, what was your read on the putt between you and your caddy? And how did it react any differently than what you read? Yeah, it was pretty clear that it was going to move right early. It was a downhill putt, so you do have to acknowledge the first part of the putt uh more so than an uphill one. Um we were debating whether or not it would break back to the left at the end. We thought because it was breaking so hard early that it might not get the chance to to actually make its way left, but that’s what it did and that’s what it ended up doing. But uh again, pleased with the putt and uh it’s easy to leave that putt short in that moment. So um and you’re pretty happy that you gave yourself a chance. I mean, it went a little bit past the hole. So, yeah. I mean, again, like I thought I made it halfway there and uh you know, at the end of the day, that’s all I really can do and uh just pleased to to even have a chance at it really. What about that? That I mean, make it, miss it, whatever is still a great day. What was working well for you out there? Yeah, I mean, I I did everything pretty well today. Um I hit some shots close. made a decent amount of putts today. Uh kept it out of trouble for most of the day. So, um but really just mindset wise was really patient. Um accepting it’s really easy to be impatient out there when you see all the low scores. So, um if I can continue to have that mindset moving forward, I’ll I’ll have a good week with the weather like this coming. Um yes and no. I feel like out here every player feels like they’re really close to a round like that. um to be honest and um with the weather the way that it was and and the course being so immaculate this week um you knew that especially on a par 70 uh if you if you make a couple of putts you’re always going to be right there and uh yeah that’s just what ended up happening today. Do you have a 59 under any conditions or any circumstances in your past? No. Uh 61 is as good as I’ve shot and so this is my uh personal best. Okay. a casual recreational round or anything with your Yeah, 61. Uh, I’ve shot it multiple times. Uh, I think I did it in Bogota. Uh, I think my Torlo is 62 this year at the John Deere. But, uh, personally, like at home, 61 has been my best. So, it was it was cool and rarified air for me to actually have a chance to shoot 59. Do you know what you need to do this week? Uh, I have a general idea. I mean, I don’t I don’t really want or need to know exactly what it is. Uh, if someone tells me, it doesn’t really change anything either. Um, I probably need to finish top three. Um, I don’t know exactly what the numbers are, but honestly, out here, finishing third is almost just as hard as winning, so I’m just focused on playing saw golf and and hopefully giving my chance to win. What do you think’s held you back this season? Uh, results wise, it’s been disappointing for sure. I feel like I’ve played better than what I’ve put out there. I’ve had a lot of tough weekends, a lot of miscuts by one, didn’t putt well for most of the year. Uh, starting to putt better, which is in one way frustrating because obviously there’s not a lot of tournaments left in the season with this being the last one. But, um, at the same time, it’s better late than never. So, uh, excited for the opportunity to to continue to put myself in the position to have a chance this week and and, uh, yeah, we’ll see where everything falls. What do you think you’re going to remember about this best round you’ve ever shot? I don’t know. Uh, I mean, I’m just going to remember that I I felt really comfortable. Um, it felt like you’re kind of in contention because you know what you’re trying to do. And uh the thought occurred that if I feel these same type of nerves on Sunday, then I’m in a I’m in a pretty good spot. Thanks, Doug. Awesome. Thank you. Appreciate it. Thank you.
