On course and indoor review of the Wilson Duo Soft. This was a very surprising golf ball for the price. What ball should I test next? I hope you enjoy the review!

Hey there guys, Mr. Short hitter here. Don’t look like a short hitter to me. I went to PJ Superstore and picked up these Wilson Duo Saws. Now, I just reviewed the Wilson Triad and I also reviewed the Wilson Tour model. The Tour model was a pretty darn good performing golf ball. So, we’re on a roll with Wilson, so I figured why not review this Duo Soft. And besides it was only $22.99. Okay, this is the Trek 360. So the alignment aid goes all around this ball and it’s a green alignment a couple arrows on each side. I can see using this off the tea and also using this to help line up the putts. So right at the bridge, we’ve got about 200 yds to carry this creek. So it’s going to take all we got here. It is some hurting wind right now. Take a left. Make it a little shorter carry. All right. So, we are into the wind again here. Decent carry out of that ball. 155. Since this is a hole, we don’t want to go long and it should release a little bit. I’m going to go ahead and hit a sixiron here. Little skinny sit. Soft shot here. It’s a very soft golf ball. So, we have 353 to the middle of the green here. 340 to the front edge. It’s about 225 to reach the creek on the left. And although I probably can’t hit a driver there today, I’m just going to hit a highwood. Give oursel a little longer shot into this green cuz the pin is on the front. So, the pin should be under 350. 344. So, I will hit a highwood. Say 180. That’ll give us 163 or less to that flag. Didn’t hit that very good. So, we’ll probably have a little longer than that possibly. But, it did bounce. And you can definitely feel that golf ball that it is extremely extremely soft. So guys, the funny thing is I’m about maybe 8 to 10 yards past that 150. And although it didn’t feel like I got a lot out of that ball, it’s possible the ground’s a little firmer than I thought because I think I’m quite a bit closer than that 163 we were looking at. Yeah. 139. 142 with the slope. So 20 yards further. Wind is helping a little bit, but that highwood there went a little bit over 200 yards and I didn’t hit it very well. So the ball doesn’t feel like it’s jumping off the club face, but that one went pretty good. So 142 will hit 8 iron here. So 136 to the front edge. The wind is helping a little bit. So, anything that lands between that front edge and the pin is going to be a really good shot. But this is a hole you just don’t want to go long on. Let’s try to make a good swing right at the flag there. [Music] We pulled it left. All right, guys. So, now I can use this alignment aid. This putt should break significantly from left to right. Ho ho ho ho ho. [Music] Now guys, I definitely wasn’t trying to leave myself a 5-footer, but screen is pretty slick. This should move right to left kind of right edge and firm. [Music] So to the pin which is all the way in the back is 327 with the slope. Wind’s blowing right to left should help us here. [Music] I feel like this is one of those balls you can doesn’t feel like it’s doing much off the face cuz it’s so soft, but feel like I’m getting a decent amount of distance out of it, guys. I don’t think the ground is rock hard. But let’s see what we have here. 327 from back there. 88 yds. Adjust it for elevation. So, 239 yd drive. That’s pretty darn good for me. 88. Wind is helping, but mainly across. Going to go ahead and hit a 50. And I’ve been making a mistake of not hitting this full from this distance. We’re just going to hit a pretty full one. And if it goes long, just goes long. [Music] Hit that. Okay. And it’s long. So decent decent distance. So the ball flew back here. I feel like the more center face contact I make, the less I feel this golf ball. That ball just came off. Felt like I hit a rubber ball there. It’s another downhill putt. I can’t see the flag, but it’s 352 to the center. And I don’t think we can carry that bunker. So, I’m going to take it left at that big tree. can’t see it, but I’m telling you, if you want a soft ball that feels really soft off the driver, for sure, this might be the ball for you. So, guys, there is nothing like playing by the light of the clubhouse. I’ve got 133 to the flag, but I’m coming out of the rough, and it could release in front of this green. You don’t want to go rolling off the left side. So, I’ll hit a nine iron. Front of the green is this hard. And it’s only 124 to the front. Felt like that was going towards the center of the green where I was aiming. Big quick breaking putt here. This why I said you don’t want to go long. That’s too hard. That’s too Well, unless it hits the hole. That was way too hard. All right, guys. It’s time to go over the numbers for this Wilson Duo Soft. And I think those of you that play Wilson Duo Soft, you’re probably going to like this. Okay, so first from 50 yards, the Wilson Dual Soft launched about 4 and a half degrees higher than the Prov1, had about 2400 RPM less spin and a six° steeper descent angle and a6 yard higher peak height. And again, this ball is going to try to stop more with the descent angle versus spin. But for a very very inexpensive golf ball, that’s a decent amount of spin. I’ve seen some that were 5,000 or less. So I would say for spin from 50 yards, the ball performed okay. With the 7iron, the Wilson Duosoft matched the Prov1 and ball speed, launch, spin, the descent about a half a degree steeper. Peak height pretty much the same. One yard further carry and one yard further on the total. So really good performance from the seven iron with the driver. The Wilson Dual Soft had 1 mph more ball speed launched a couple degrees higher, 400 RPM less spin. If you’re a high swing speed player, you’d probably have some trouble getting enough spin out of this golf ball. The descent one degree less steep, peak height pretty much the same, carry two yards longer, and total three yards longer. So, really good performance with the driver. And this is a good golf ball for players with slow swing speeds like myself. I imagine if you have a 100 mile per hour swing or faster, you might get into a little trouble with this golf ball. But slow swing speed players, it’s a pretty darn good golf ball. So, I want to thank you guys that have purchased from my sponsor, Golf Ball Planet. You guys have really helped support the channel quite a bit lately with this because there’s been quite a few of you. Joseph Germaine, Dennis James, Mike Wynards, probably said that wrong. Joel Silverstein, Bill Karion, Corey Mclofflin, Jerry Little, John List, Dennis Budski, Nicholas Danford, Arnold Annex, and Matthew Mangram. I really want to thank you guys. Your support means the world to me. And while we’re at it, we just reviewed the Wilson Duo Soft and you can get a Wilson mix that includes the Duo Soft right now at Golf Ball Planet 50 balls for $39.96. So, if you enjoyed the video, like, comment, subscribe, leave down in the comments section the ball you want me to review, and until next time, Mr. Shore hitter out. Just play 13.

  1. Wilson Golf makes some very good golf balls as well as good drivers, and putters. Also the Wilson Launch Pad II iron is one of the most forgiving and easy to hit irons made.

  2. Mr. SH, Wilson puts out some decent golf balls—- I'm happy with them.
Anything on the Volvik Vivid or Bridgestone e6 Soft? thanks ☺

  3. I've hit them before and didn't have much luck. Probably an off round. Gonna have to try again. I do like when your reviews include on course multiple swings with driver, mid irons and wedges. Checking durability, "check" on the green and feel

  4. Thanks MSH. Course strategy, club selection with reasoning and a ball review. What more can you ask for? Thanks again!!

  5. I just picked up 2 dozen of the bright colours for £35 on top of the million golf balls I have already 😂

  6. I've played Chrome Tour for a few years but recently been experimenting with a softer ball. With Callaway Supersoft and Chrome Soft I've gained distance. Chrome Soft feels better of the two and is almost a full club longer than Chrome Tour. Just for reference, with the softer ball, my 34° 7i carries 155 and driver 235.

  7. Tried a sleeve of these and loved them. Great , especially in colder weather. Will try again in warmer weather..About 80 swing speed. Thanks

  8. Thanks for reviewing the Wilson DuoSoft. It's the only golf ball I pull out of a sleeve and play new! Being a short hitter, it gives me great distance when I play golf in Scotland. Maybe I should start using it more often in the US! Thanks for giving the numbers on this ball and making great videos!

  9. I love the new 360 line! That green color looks really good! So, what’s the performance like? Thanks for the review! Happy Thanksgiving!

  10. Enjoyed the content as always! And, I'm down to a couple dozen GBP balls left from my last order, so if I keep losing them in the leaves I may be re-ordering soon. Would love to see you review the TM TP5 and Speed Soft. I think I actually hit the Speed Soft a little at my slow swing speeds, but the TP5 is great too and I just like the pix design on it for the visual and spotting it quickly on course. Thanks as always! (by the way – ever think of making a spreadsheet of your ball reviews and linking it to your info?)

  11. I live in Myrtle Beach and mostly all I do is practice and play golf. If you want to feel a seriously soft ball that performs you have to test the Amazon Basics golf ball. I'm a slow swinger and have tried them all and never felt anything like this ball. I got a dozen in yellow about 2 weeks ago and have played with the same ball my last 45 holes and you can barely tell I've hit it so durability is off the charts. It feels very firm in hand but when you hit it and especially putt with it everything changes. I have a dozen Vice Pro Softs, Srixon Soft Feels and Srixon Ultispeeds in the back of my car but can't stop playing with the Amazon Basics. The Members Mark is the only other ball I've played that compares on durability….

  12. Love your videos, what do you use for the shot tracer in your videos, would love to find out, many thanks

  13. Like your videos , because we swing about the same speed. Ball testing is mostly what I like . Keep doing the great work.

  14. I am no expert, but I have noticed that 99% of the guys I play league with are using the wrong ball. And of those, almost all of them are using balls that are too hard. I don't know if it's an ego thing with us guys, but for most of us mid to high handicap players, a softer compression ball will go further! So why in the world would we NOT use one??? Titleist can keep their $50 a dozen ProV1's and I'll be happy with a softer ball for $20-30 bucks less a dozen! I think MSH would say he'd be VERY happy driving the ball 240 (239 to be exact), so that's a great ball for him!

  15. Ive hit this ball and really liked it for the price I paid $11 dozen. I have a swing speed of about 86-88 mph. I did gain 10- 20 yards with Callaway ERC with my driver.

  16. The current Duo Soft for me is better then the previous Duo Soft and feels as good as the Duo Optix to me. Purchased them in orange the day they came out. Later that day I saw that Golf Galaxy had 3 boxes of Track 360 available and I ordered them. They were not supposed to be released of months and I treated them special so not to run out. I still have not been able to break that habit.
