Yos Lui Ten has launched a fierce criticism of the DP World Tour after being snubbed from next month’s Ned Bankolf Challenge. Despite one of his strongest seasons in years, the six-time DP World Tour champion took to social media to vent his frustration, sparking a wave of support from fellow professionals. Louis Tan, who finished an impressive 33rd in the 2025 race to Dubai, has been left as first reserve for the prestigious $6 million event, known widely as Africa’s major, set for December 4th to 7th at the Gary Player Country Club in Sun City, South Africa. Despite his consistency throughout the season and qualifying for the elite 50man DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, Louis 10 was overlooked for a 66 player field that does include Elivy Golf members Tom McKibben, Adrien Moranc, Victor Perez, and Ryder Cup star Victor Havland. According to Louis Tan, that’s exactly the problem. He argued that the DP World Tour is failing to reward seasonlong performance, pointing out that several players behind him in the rankings receive spots due to tournament victories from more than two years ago, sitting as first reserve for the Ned Bankolf Challenge. Honestly, it’s hard to understand, he wrote on Instagram. Finishing 33rd on the Order of Merit, earning a place in the biggest tournament of 2025, yet not getting into a smaller event with a bigger field and more spots than the Tour Championship. I just don’t get it. Hard to explain how the atorlder makes those decisions. I’m proud of the season I’ve had and the progress I’ve made. Hopefully, a spot opens up, but either way, I’ll keep pushing in 2026. Several pros quickly backed him. England’s Daniel Brown called the situation a disgrace, saying field should reward the players who performed best over the entire season. Brandon Robinson Thompson, also listed as a reserve, chimed in with, “Say it louder.” Spanish star Jorge Campio added, “It must be nice seeing guys from Elivy ahead of you whose last win was in 2023.” To which Louis Tan replied, “It’s a joke, really.” Louis Tan later told bunker od to UK that he’s grown increasingly frustrated with the tour’s lack of communication, describing it as very poor. He said he believed his spot at the Ned Bank was secure until being informed during the DP World Tour Championship week that the entry list would be determined strictly by category rankings and that qualifying for the $10 million finale was not enough to guarantee inclusion. The Dutchman has since raises concerns directly with DP World Tour CEO Guy Kennings, hoping for reforms to the entry system going forward. With two weeks until the tournament and just one withdrawal needed, Louis 10 still has a realistic chance of being added to the field. But having already booked travel for his entire family, he joked that if he doesn’t get in, he’ll simply enjoy a relaxing Sun City holiday instead.
