Kai Trump is set to make her LPGA Tour debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old granddaughter of President Trump is committed to playing at the University of Miami. Kai Trump, the daughter of Donald Trump Jr., is one of three sponsor invitations to the tournament. She and two female college golfers have been granted special invitations to the tournament. The tournament, The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican, begins on Thursday morning.

“My dream has been to compete with the best in the world on the LPGA Tour, and I am thrilled to be able to compete at The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican in November,” said Trump. “This event will be an incredible experience. I look forward meeting and competing against so many of my heroes and mentors in golf as I make my LPGA Tour debut.”

As Kai Trump is set to begin her first round on Thursday, her official junior golf ranking has surfaced online.

Spoiler alert: it’s not very impressive.
Kai Trump is currently ranked 461stin the Rolex AJGA Rankings, which are widely considered the top junior golf rankings in the world.
Kai Trump’s most recent tournament results
The granddaughter of the President of the United States most recently played in the Arnold Palmer Invitational Junior in July. She finished in 26th place, shooting 82-83-86 over three rounds. In March, she played in the 2025 Junior Invitational at Sage Valley. She finished in 24th place, shooting 89-79-83-89 over four rounds.

In total, Kai Trump has played in three official junior golf tournaments, with her best round coming in February at the Dustin Johnson World Junior Championship. She shot 84-77 in back-to-back rounds.
Still, despite her lackluster results, she’s been granted access to an LPGA Tour event, which begins on Thursday.
Annika Sorenstam, who is hosting the tournament, is coming to her defense, backing up her play.
“Yeah, obviously her background, I just don’t know how she does it honestly. To be 18 years old and hear all the comments, she must be super tough on the inside. I’m sure we can all relate what it’s like to get criticism here and there, but she gets it a thousand times,” Sorenstam said before the first round.

“So that’s why I just want to give her a break, come out here and have fun. We want her to feel like family here and I want her to feel welcome. I mean, give this girl a chance, right? I think that’s our responsibility this week.”
The LPGA, meanwhile, is loving the attention the tournament is getting. That’s why Kai Trump was added, after all.
“Sponsor invitations are an important way to spotlight emerging talent and bring new attention to our tournaments and the LPGA,” said Ricki Lasky, LPGA Chief Tour Business and Operations Officer. “Kai’s broad following and reach are helping introduce golf to new audiences, especially among younger fans. We’re excited to see her take this next step in her journey, and we’re proud to work closely with our partners in Tampa Bay whose continued commitment to advancing the women’s game helps elevate the LPGA and expand its visibility.”
The first round begins on Thursday.
