As soon as we’re done hosting Thanksgiving I really want to finish the man cave, and with Black Friday deals going on I’m super motivated. I have my Carl’s Place enclosure, Eye Mini Lite, and SIGPRO Softy hitting strip already. I am still largely undecided on a projector, computer, and flooring. This space is intended to double as a home gym and golf simulator room.
Is there anyone else out there who is using their space as both a gym and golf sim? Any advice on flooring? My thought is maybe I will use horse stall mats (3/4”) in the “gym area” and then 1/2” EVA foam tiles + turf (hopefully totals 3/4”) in the “golf sim area” so the flooring is flush. I want to make a hitting platform that contains the hitting strip, that I can move out of the way to gain more work out space.
Any feedback on my layout/setup is greatly appreciated.
Any recommendations on a projector and a prebuilt computer are greatly appreciated as well. I know this topic has been beat to death but I’ve never experienced analysis paralysis like this. Id like to keep it under $2000 for a projector and under $1500 for a PC. Indifferent between 1080 and 4K. Thanks!!

Congratulations on all your success. You look like you guys are doing well. Just hire it out is my suggestion.
I have a 20’ x 24’ home gym in a shop with 16’ ceilings. I have stall mats on the ground everywhere and am planning to just slide out a hitting mat when using the sim, since my main goal is to maximize gym space (I have a power rack, stand alone functional trainer, dumbbell rack, lat tower, leg curl/extension, etc). My plan is to install a retractable screen to maximize gym floor space. No pics yet of the sim, I’m also in the planning phase.
Please keep us posted with pics of the final buildout! Getting the putting surface flush with stall mats seems tricky and I’m curious how it turns out.
I will do a post later of my setup as I am traveling today. I added a sim to my garage gym (removed the air bike due to space limits).
For flooring the entire gym is horse stall mats since I already had those. For the center hitting strip I put 3/4” foam gym tiles.
I also put those where the enclosure is since I cut holes in for practice putting. For turf I got SynPutt from Lowes.
I didn’t do it flush but feels close to it.
