FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The team match play portion of the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black has concluded, with Europe taking a commanding 11.5-4.5 lead over the United States. To win on home soil, the United States will need to make an unprecedented comeback. Currently, the largest comeback in Ryder Cup singles came in 1999, when the United States came back from 10-6, claiming 8.5 out of 12 possible points, securing a 14.5–13.5 overall victory.
Here are 10 observations from Saturday at the 2025 Ryder Cup:
1. Rahm and Hatton dominance continues: The Legion XIII dynamic duo is now unbeaten in six Ryder Cup matches as a team (5-0-1).
2. Individual streak: Hatton extended his streak of Ryder Cup matches without a loss to seven (6-0-1). His last loss came in his singles match in 2021 at Whistling Straits against Justin Thomas (4 & 3).
3. Rahm’s chip in: While standing in the greenside bunker of the 8th hole with the ball in an awkward position in the greenside rough, Rahm holed out for an incredible birdie in a tied match against Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele.
