Doug Ghim had a 20-foot putt at the 18th hole of the Sea Island Resort Seaside Course in the first round of the RSM Classic. What happened?
Good. I mean, honestly, anytime you can shoot double digits in a pars is a a bonus. So, um, yeah, looking forward to the rest of the week, but pleased with today. Doug, what was your read on the putt between you and your caddy, and how did it react any differently than what you read? Yeah, it was pretty clear that it was going to move right early. It was a downhill putt, so you do have to acknowledge the first part of the putt uh more so than an uphill one. Um, we were debating whether or not it would break back to the left at the end. We thought because it was breaking so hard early that it might not get the chance to to actually make its way left, but that’s what it did. And that’s what it ended up doing. But, uh, again, pleased with the putt and, uh, it’s easy to leave that putt short in that moment. So, um, and you’re pretty happy that you gave yourself a chance. I mean, it went a little bit past the hole. So, yeah. I mean again like I thought I made it halfway there and uh you know at the end of the day that’s all I really can do and uh just pleased to to even have a chance at it really.
