Kai Trump has accepted an offer to compete in a $10 million golf tournament, according to media mogul Dave Portnoy.

Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, enjoyed huge success with the outlet’s inaugural ‘Internet Invitational,’ which assembled a wide array of golf influencers and sports media personalities for a $1 million tournament. The event, which was not lacking in controversy and drama, was broadcast as a YouTube series over recent weeks and accrued millions of views.

Portnoy has made it clear that he intends for the concept to return and grow larger for a second season, with President Donald Trump’s granddaughter, Kai, on his wishlist of competitors. The 18-year-old made her LPGA Tour debut last week, finishing dead last at The Annika in Florida.

The teenager, a high school senior, has committed to playing collegiate golf at the University of Miami in 2026, but she struggled with the steep learning curve in her first professional event.

Trump carded a 13-over-par 83 on the opening day at The Pelican in Belleair, before courageously responding with a three-over-par 73 to miss the cut by a distance.

But Portnoy is intent on having Trump in the field for the next edition of the ‘Internet Invitational,’ as well as WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark, who played in the pro-am at The Annika.

Portnoy says both women have tentatively accepted his offer. He told ‘The Unnamed Show’: “I’ve invited two people so far, they’ve both said yes,” Portnoy said.

“I don’t know how serious the yesses are. Caitlin said yes; Kai Trump said yes. Those are my two that I’ve asked. Whether push comes to shove, and those two are available and do it, who knows?”

The first edition of the ‘Internet Invitational’ was already a huge attraction for younger golf fans, but the addition of personalities like Trump and Clark would undoubtedly generate a surge in wider interest.

Trump’s performance on her LPGA Tour showed she has talent but has a long way to go over the coming years to be able to cut it at the pro level. Despite the disappointment of finishing bottom of the leaderboard through 36 holes last week, the youngster issued a classy verdict on the experience.

“What an incredible honor and opportunity to compete in my first LPGA Tour Event at The Annika,” she wrote on Instagram. “This week was an absolute dream come true. There are so many amazing people I want to thank for making it happen and for being so supportive.

“You all made this week so special for me. It was a lifelong dream to play in a LPGA event, and this is just the start. I learned so much about my game and myself out there.

“I was so impressed by all the LPGA players I met and got to watch as well. I’m going to use this experience to keep growing as a person and as a golfer. Thank you all for the support!”
