is reducing tension. Now, when we’re reducing tension, we do that by relaxing three key body parts when we’re playing. I like to start from the top down by relaxing my face. That might sound a little bit funny. I’ll show you what I mean there in a second. My shoulders and my arms. Remember that mantra, face, shoulders, arms. So, as I’m swinging here, we got a one to one tempo. We’ve got point A to point B. We’ve got hand pressure maintenance. And we’re going to relax. You want to reduce tension by consciously relaxing. We’re reducing tension in our body by thinking about relaxing. What I want you to feel is your face relax. Now, I do that by having feel like my my jaw relaxes and even like my mouth is open. You notice when you’re like tons and you clench your jaw like this and your mouth is closed. We don’t want that for effortless power. Okay. Mouth open, relaxed face. Like, holy cow, can I think my mouth open? Yeah. Let’s just relax your face a little bit. Okay. Relax your shoulders. Relax your arms. I like to just let them hang out once or twice. Shake them out once or twice like this. So, as I’m hitting, I like to feel right in my pre-shot routine, but I’m really feeling my face relaxed, my shoulders relaxed, and my arms relaxed through the whole motion.

This is why you’ll see some golfers chewing gum. It helps relax the jaw especially if you start to consciously control the biting/chewing pressure
