Malahide Golf Club is set to host the 2026 Women’s Irish Challenge, marking the second consecutive year that the prestigious venue welcomes one of Ireland’s premier women’s professional golf tournaments.
Following its great success in 2025, the return to Malahide reflects the outstanding support, organisation, and atmosphere delivered by the club and its dedicated team. Competitors, spectators, and partners praised last year’s championship for its strong crowds, excellent course conditions, and warm community spirit.
Speaking ahead of the final countdown, Cian Branagan, CEO of ForeFront Group, said: “We are thrilled to return to Malahide Golf Club for the 2026 Women’s Irish Challenge. Last year’s tournament exceeded expectations, and we look forward to building on that success with the fantastic team at Malahide. The club’s commitment to supporting women’s golf is clear, and we’re proud to continue this partnership.”
One of Dublin’s most historic and highly regarded courses, Malahide provides a challenging and engaging layout, ideal for showcasing elite women’s professional golf talent. The tournament will once again welcome players from across Europe and beyond, offering a platform for rising stars and established competitors.
Malahide was a proud host to the Women’s Irish Challenge in 2025 during a period of exceptional progress for Irish women’s golf, and the strong support throughout the week highlighted the significance of the event and the growing interest in the women’s game.
Eddie Farrell, Malahide Golf Club General Manager, said that the club and its members are already looking forward to the event.
“We are delighted to welcome back players from across the world in 2026, alongside some outstanding homegrown talent who continue to inspire the next generation,” he said.
“The earlier date in the calendar will give young and aspiring golfers an even greater opportunity to come and watch their future heroes compete at the highest level.
“With the warm and generous hospitality of our members and a Championship Course that offers a fair but demanding test, the 2026 Women’s Irish Challenge promises to be an unmissable week for both players and spectators.”
Those sentiments are shared by Ana Larraneta, LETAS Tour Director, who said that the players and LET Access Series staff felt that the 2025 was memorable in many respects.
“The Women’s Irish Challenge was a fantastic addition to our schedule last year, so we are delighted to be working once again with the ForeFront team and Malahide Golf Club to stage an even better event in 2026,” she said. “The warmth and hospitality shown by Malahide Golf Club and its members was unmatched, and it truly elevated the experience for our players.”
The Women’s Irish Challenge continues to play an important role in the growth of women’s golf in Ireland, inspiring participation, promoting excellence, and bringing world-class sport to local communities.
