Can I say that's abnormal course condition or shall I play as it lies? That's roughly 80cm away from the green

You can say that it’s embedded and take the relief that you’re entitled to.

Poor course conditions allow you to move it.

Do u genuinely believe people, in any level of golf, are expected to play that kind of a lie?

In case you aren’t fyi that’s abnormal condition, GUR(ground under repair), and potentially embedded. Can pick one of the 3 and do a replace not closer to the hole but out of all that water/muck.

Depending on which one it is u can also get a “allowed to clean the ball” rule.

    Personal rant:
I wish more people tried to play by the actual rules and not die on the “u must play it off Frankensteins foot” mentality. Even in the PGA you’ll see the pick place and clean rule enforced every now and then. And we’re not in the pga so just do it and have fun when it’s allowed.

The better question is how did you find it?

  5. Assuming you are not in a penalty area, that is temporary water. You are entitled to free relief from the entire area under Rule 16.1.

Are you currently in a sanctioned PGA tournament for a boatload of cash? No? Move the damn ball.

You only play it if you’re a 20+ Handicap (Even if the rules allow it, which they do)
This shows that you have integrity.

Pick, clean and place. No doubt. Well, no doubt I would do it regardless of ‘rules’ unless I was playing in a tournament and was told ‘Nope’. In which case Zi would evaluate my chances of winning something before deciding to tell them to f.o.

This is why Roy McAvoy brought a shovel.
