Longest Drive Comp Titleist 915 D3 Vs TaylorMade R15
[Music] right then guys we have got a longest drive challenge against the brand new tailor made R15 and the brand new tight list 915 D3 lots of uh lots of 15 numbers flying about so we’ve got the latest from both manufacturers both been speced pretty much for me so I’ve got this in the the Kylie shaft this is the tailor made in the Kylie stiff Lex 10 .5 one weight in the toe one weight in the middle best setting for me in 10.5 and I’ve got the D3 in 9.5 just because of the difference in spin characteristics this has got the active recall Channel I’ve got this actually an extra stiff this is the deala Rog Rogue shaft in extra stiff we’re at the third hole at the brabazon and we are literally just going to do a longest drive tournament three golf balls each it’s got to hit the Fairway to count that’s its Only Rule and its longest wins I’m looking forward to these two because I’ve tested these two in the past and hit them very very long very impressed with both of them uh let’s go tight list first so we’ve got the two very very different looking heads obviously the Black versus the white I’ve got it in the 430 my R15 so the R15 is the 430 version only because one it’s the one that I hit actually better and also it’s the one that matches up to D3 best so both smaller heads and really they’re the ones that get the least spin for me and get the ball traveling the the furthest right let’s give it a go so looks behind the head looks behind the ball it looks amazing like I say it’s got to hit far not only got to be accurate got to be long and accurate it’s a nice start from the tight list very nice start so it’s safely on The Fairway how long is it it’s a good opener it’s a great opener in fact it’s two 197 yards down the Fairway fantastic start a little bit actually off the bottom but decent Club speed fantastic spin numbers and good launch angle so we’re good good start 297 so we’re going to see which one can actually go longest so R15 very very different head white head this is like I said this is the 430 version so smaller than the uh the main version that they’re bringing out oh that felt good again is it going to hit Fairway start turning back very similar line to the tight list is it going to catch it is it going to catch it no it’s not very interesting start a little bit more Club head speed but a fraction fraction out of the toe very interesting start so so far the tight List have got has got the R15 by4 yards which isn’t a lot come on it’s not a great deal anyway but titless has got it both felt great when hitting they both got over 300 yards written in these two anyway so let’s go next shot yes please yes please another Fairway splitter this isn’t like me three Fairways in a row 300 yeah comfortably 306 yard of total distance amazing spin numbers fantastic launch number and 11.8 Club Ed speed that is good I’m pleased with that right I’ll tell you what Taylor Made you’ve got some catching up to do here you really have because 306 is it’s a good solid hit very good solid hit right back into the R15 oh it’s a tiny bit down the right is it going to come back in it’s going to hit the bunker isn’t it oh it’s just over the bunker and it would have been good that could have gone an awful long way cuz it’s actually carried further than the tight list actually carried at 284 so this is very interesting because if that would have hit the Fairway that could have been very very very long got one more shot each I so this is G be Fairway finding there’s no point in being hitting it long and not finding the Fairway so it’s a it’s a blend of both it is the longest drive comp but like a longest drive comp at your Club it’s got to hit the Fairway right can it Advance on 306 the title is 915 D3 oh I don’t think that one will no I don’t think I think that should retire on 306 to be fair I don’t think that’s going to get over there skir past the bunker a little jump forward to be fair for a bad hit that was a bad hit still 293 so the tight the tightest averages have been fantastic 297 293 306 can’t complain with that with the tit it’s very very good right we’re going to go one more with the tailor made it’s got to be long and hit in the Fairway 306 to beat can it do it so the last one it’s down there it’s Arrow straight this is could be very very very good is it going to be 306 oh not quite 303 yards 303 so it was only just out 303 so guys tight list takes this round by not much at all but it does take the round it was three yards only three you know that’s me to you three yards further both hit nice shots both hit the Fairway not like me I only hit I missed one Fairway with the tailor made actually but both easy TI clubs get some phenomenal numbers out of them and I’ve got a big decision to make which one actually do I start using prefer the looks wise of the tailor made but the Titleist have really producing some good numbers and they’ve produced a fantastic club guys thank you very much so much for watching this was just a long drive it’s got to hit the Fairway down at third hole at the brabers if you’ve enjoyed the video give it a thumbs up let us know what you think about it comment down below and let me tell me are you going to be trying these two golf clubs I want to hear your thoughts thanks for watching guys and we shall see you all very soon 306 yards the tight list thanks for watching

Great vid rick. I'd be chuffed with an average of 295 yards!!! Sad to see some comments are derogatory. I'm a fan of both yourself and mark Crossfield, Pete finch and I follow me and my golf. I don't get the fan made rivalry? You're all trying to help us play better!
bring on the srixon Z 545!!!!
They are almost equal in distance and very long. One certainly gets more options to adjust with the Taylormade though. I'm sliding to the SLDR.
Love the videos keep them up it's my birthday on Nov 27th aka my tomorrow and I am a junior golfer and I am wonder in your opinion what is the best irons for junior if you read this please respond and thanks for the time
Thanks, Rick! Keep up the great work! This is very very close to be fair. Perhaps the R15 took it on carry distance, which would be a more significant metric, in my humble opinion.
too close to call from that session so to be fair you could do an off centre duel to see which will actually play better. Nice to see you not hooking the ball every other shot for a change.
Following Pete's lead on the Titleist eh?
Not going to be changing anytime too soon. I like my JPX EZ. There's certainly going to be some choices to make in a few years time when/if I do make a change.
really enjoy the simulator feature!
would to see the g30 go against the 460cc versions of these clubs
So in conclusion the Srixon Z545 smashes them both with 297 carry distances?
Are both clubs 45"?
Nice vid and gears Rick. Amazingly forgiving clubs. I noticed from your GC2/HMT numbers there were strokes where the angles to path were open and you're nevertheless always drawing?
And I have a 8 handicap
Do the r15 460 against the 915 d2 next
is it just me or are 3 drives each not enough for these tests to mean anything.
Love the simulated fw long drive challenges Rick! Keep up the good work, I got all the boys here at work watching your videos.
Try putting both weights in the middle and see how far you get
Hey Rick,Love the Longest Drive Comp… How about about Bringing back the reining champ,The Ping i25 driver….I don't remember it ever losing….
Hi Rick, have you looked at your older Callaway X2 Hot carry numbers? I'm curious to know what the total distance numbers would be. The longest drives may have a new Champion…
The sound of the last 05:31 swing sounds the best! "Arrow straight".
Well the Titleist kinda took the round. Stop toeing the TM and maybe it would have beaten it. My test will happen in Feb between these two and the G30 and 815.
Rick, why you didn't use R15 – 460.
How about hitting the center of the face. Your numbers are all over the place and aren't comparable
Hey Rick, great job on the reviews of the new drivers. Thanks. Question 1 What is your favorite driver of all the ones you have tried. Question 2 could you compare this years top drivers to stuff like the RBZ stage 2
TM states for MAX distance, put the 2 sliding weights together. That could make the R15 as long or longer then the 915 D3?
But then again the R15's are built to 45.5" vs the 915's 45" so R15 SHOULD have been longer.
With that said I just purchased the R15 TP in Black, looks and feels great.
Is the feel of r15 harder than 915 ??
Titleist hit the nail on the head like never before with the 915 driver. Simply awesome!
Hey Rick. I was wondering if you could do a nike vapor pro driver vs the titleist D3 please.
All this proves is the shaft in the titleist fits you better lol cool vid tho
You definitely seemed to be getting a more consistent shape with the Titleist. Looking forward to having this problem after pay day 🙂
Can you do a Tour Edge Exotic XCG7 Beta driver video
Question for you my swing speed is 100 mph yours is 108 yet me carry is 200 yours is much greater around 270 why cheers great vids keep them coming
I just bought a Titleist 915D3 and was looking for a video just like this. Very good analysis. Only constructive criticism: I wish you would have been a little bit clearer which driver you ultimately picked in the end. Titleist won on performance, but you said you prefer the look the the R15. It was rather anticlimactic.
Interesting that according to the shot charts all of the Titleist shots were shown to have been hit on the center of the club face whereas the first two hit on the TaylorMade were toward the toe. Only the last and best hit on the Taylor was in the center. And so… this leads me to conclude that this was not quite a true, and fair comparison. You might want to try again, Rick! 😉 BTW I LOVE your channel and all the reviews! Another head-to-head I would like to see is TaylorMade RSi 1 vs Callaway XR irons.
Thanks for all your great videos — both club reviews and instructional ones!
Do a video of the Cobra Fly Z+ vs the Titleist 915 D3.
How much would a golf simulator like the one used here cost? No plans in getting one but just curious.
I cant see a comparative between the Callaway XR VS R15 driver , have you tried both clubs ? if so , which one did you prefer ? which was the longest drive and more importantly , which was the most forgiving ?
I don't like the plastic feel of the r15 or the aeroburmer
look forward to a M1 v's R15! currently looking at the R15 due to price to match up with my RSi'TP
I noticed that the titleist launch angle was about 11 vs the taylormade at about 15 degrees. The Titleist was a 9.5 vs the Taylormade at 10.5. Would this not have accounted for the Taylormade being slightly shorter in the drive distances ?
What shaft weight and flex are you using? I tried the 915 and have very similar numbers for club head speed and ball speed. I was thinking of moving to x-stiff to drop the spin rate and try to mitigate left/right dispersion. But 110-114 isnt teally fast enough to neccesitate an x-stiff. Thoughts?
Is it fair to count hits off the toe with the R15, when the D3 was hit centered? I mean, in consideration that a victor was chosen by only a 3 yard difference? Good video overall, just wonderin'. Liking all the vids, very informative; subscribed.
Rick – any chance you can review the 915 D4 driver?
I know this is off subject, but is Foresight an evga product?
ok, so like many of us ,I play on a fairly tight budget and loved the look and stats of the r15 when it came out but couldn't afford it ,now two years later ive just purchased it brand new for £119, ( and loving it ). However, ,,, the titleist 915 is still fetching £200 plus ,SECOND HAND, !!!!!! for three yards ???? i'll stick with my Taylormade thanks . Many thanks Rick for these reviews ,they are invaluable to peeps like myself .
I been looking for comets about tour edge driver and iron could you help me
I'm playing that exact D3. Smile every time I hit it. Would never change, but I do like the looks of that smaller TM driver. Cool vid
I'd choose the Titliest since it has a higher MOI (so it's more forgiving) than the R15
i mean before swinging the club your taking a 10.5 driver in a stiff shaft vs 9.5 driver in a extra stiff…i mean right there one is at an advantage…
You need a bigger sample size for any meaningful objective comparison. Three shots is not enough.
