Hey guys, welcome back to Modern Golf. Hope you’re having a great day and even better week. So today we’re talking about G4. And G4 is one of my favorite brands in all of golf. Love their footwear. So I had an idea. We’ve been testing a lot of new G4s. This is the MG4 Plus, but the soft spike version. I want to kind of go over these in particular, but I also want to give you a ranking of our top 10 favorite G4 shoes from 10 obviously all the way up and where do these align. Uh I have all of them. Uh I didn’t want to bring 10 pair in here, but I want to kind of give you an idea of what we think and why I think certain ones are better for certain players, etc. So, let’s start this list. Um and unfortunately, there has to be a bottom of this list. So, our least favorite G4 shoe is the G118. Uh, we tested these last year. Uh, they weren’t my favorite, and I’ll be nice and just say they weren’t my favorite. I didn’t love the fit. They were a little bulky for me. Um, overall, not my favorite G4. Have some cool colorways. I kind of thought they were going to drop this shoe line to be honest with you, but it’s still here. But anyway, in the 10th spot is the G18. In the ninth spot, and this is somebody I know some of you guys will say, I love this shoe. And it’s it’s not a bad shoe, but again, we’re going ranking, is the MG4X2. This is like a hybrid cross trainer. Um, not really severe spike. So, this is not the ideal shoe to be playing uh in wet or bad conditions. I like the aesthetic of the shoe. It looks more like a running shoe or like a training shoe. uh fits all my G4s and I I guess I should have started there. I’m in a nine and a half in every one of these. Every one. Um so I give a lot of props to G4 because I don’t have any sizing issues with their brand at all. Um there are some brands that I’m constantly fighting. Uh if you watch our reviews, you know, you guys can get an idea who we’re talking about. Some fit one way, some fit another way. G4’s very consistent across the board. So I’m a 9 and a half. Uh, I’m a nine and a half athletic shoes and that’s how all these fit and I have no issues. So anyway, ninth on the list again is the MG4X2. I’ll put pictures up of some of ours. Uh, more of a cross trainer, very comfortable shoe. Uh, but again, not the most ideal golf shoe for all year round. The other version of this is the MG4 Plus. So, we have the X2, which I just showed you about. This is the Plus. Um, similar lines, very similar shoe. I’m not going to get too much in detail. I’ll put our pictures up of the ones we own. Um, like this shoe. Very comfortable golf shoe, but again, not ideal for uh the entire year. Very a very good summer shoe. Um, but again, not the ideal shoe for the entire year. Number seven on the list, and and and I got to tell you, of all the shoes I wear, and I wear a ton of different golf shoes, to be fair, um, this shoe gets more compliments than all the other ones almost combined. Uh, and again, this is the G112. This is just white with navy. They had some incredible colorways with this over the time. Very comfortable golf shoe. This has this kind of um almost what I would say Wimbleton tennis sole uh rubber soft spikes, but this digs in. I’ve had zero issues slipping in with this. My only issue with this shoe is in this portion. Um I feel like when you’re playing your ankle can kind of roll and almost slip out of the shoe, but so to tighten this down to me would be the better option. Um, and again it’s soft spike, so it’s ideal summer shoe. But that’s the only knock I have in this, but unfortunately it has to land in a certain spot. And at the number seven spot is the G112. And the sixth spot, and I love this shoe last year. Um, but again, this is where these things land, is the Gallivan 2R. Um, so we reviewed this, and I call this the OG soft spike that look like they’re replaceable spikes, but they weren’t replaceable spikes. Love the colorways, love the cushioning. Not as good as the other ones going on this list, but very very very solid golf shoe. But again, this is the Gallivan 2RS. Um, but the OG with the soft spikes that look like they were replaceable. The next one up, so we’re up to five already, is the Gallivant Tur, the original ones, the OGs. These are the ones we really like. Now, you’re going to say, “If you like them so much, why are they in the fifth spot?” Well, if I was going to count the limited edition series, I’d probably be number one or very close to it. But the standard one, the Gallivant, and they’re lit, they’re literally, as you guys, if you’ve worn them, they are leaf picker uppers. They will pick up every piece of debris on the golf course. And I’ll put the sole up with a picture. Very good traction. You’ll have no issues with these. My only thing I don’t love about these is they’re not replaceable spikes. So number four, we just talked about them, the Gallivant Tur. So G4 answered all my questions and concerns a year or so ago when they came out with this version, replaceable spikes. It makes this shoe so much more doable and appreciated because you have really spikes that can dig in. So you can play the shoe all year round and all you have to do is replace spikes versus buying new shoes. So in my fourth spot is the Gallivan 2RS but with the G-Lock. So in the force is the gallivant tur not tours tur with the G-lock. So original shoe OG shoe but we changed it so now you can have spikes. It’s a home run. Uh where the original ones you picked up every leaf. This is a much better option. And again replaceable spikes more bang for your buck. This is what we’re here for. Really like the original Gallivant Tur boy with the G-lock. So, that brings us to spot number two, and I’m staring at them. I’m going to point to them. This is the shoe we’re talking about, the MG4 Plus O2, the standard with the soft spikes. This is the newest version. So, while we love these, and we’ll get into these in a second, this may be the most comfortable golf shoe on Earth right now. Uh if you are if I wasn’t in the midst of fall and playing in slop conditions, I this would probably be the shoe I’m wearing all the time. Unfortunately, I’m at that time where it’s sloppy out. I don’t want to slip. As I mentioned to you guys about a month or so ago, I slipped and thought I pulled my ACL. Literally, I thought I tore my knee off. Um cuz a certain brand, not this brand, but a certain brand I was testing, uh I slipped my right foot out. We all I don’t say we’ve all been there. A lot of us have been there. Uh, so I try now to only wear hard spikes until uh maybe next May uh for where I’m at. But the comfort in this guy is off the chart. You will love this shoe. Um, again, I clean these up pretty good. Um, good traction, not great. Cushion, fantastic. Top one or two in the industry by far. Uh, sizing for me is great. I’m a 9 and a half uh in G4. This fits 9 and a half. Had no issues. Love the waterproofing. Love everything about this shoe. But what number one has? So number one should be no shocker to anybody for this G4 list. The MG4 Plus O2 G-Lock. Uh love this golf shoe. I if I had to buy one golf shoe, um it would be this or another one of all the shoes we test. But absolutely love the G-Lock. the most comfortable golf shoe I think with spikes that I’ve played. Uh that or maybe one other one, but love the aesthetics. I just wish they had more colorways. But to me, the top G4 golf shoe and literally one of the best golf shoes in the industry. And check out a review of all of them is this guy, the MG4 Plus O2 G-Lock. Fantastic. Again, you ask anybody who’s put this shoe on, they will all tell you the same thing. It is literally the most comfortable golf shoe you’ve ever played in. Literally. And I’ve had people tell me that before I test them, I say, “Yeah, yeah, yeah.” And then once you test this, you’re like, “Man, these are they’re really, really good.” So, anyway, these are our top 10 G4 golf shoes. Uh, I love the limited edition ones again. So, those would be kind of on my top of my list, but again, not as uh comfortable as some of these. But again, I hope you guys like this fun list.
