  1. Current 5-15 is the worst 5-15 has ever been

  2. buster_rhino

Tiger’s run is even crazier when you consider the guys he was beating every week.

  3. DawgcheckNC

Peak of power Tiger started Thursday morning 3 shots up on that murderers row due to his mental game. Sensei-level mastery. 2005, 100%.

The 2015 crew is definitely weak, but yall are really sleeping on the 2025 crew. I’d bet that in 10 years we’ll look back on this set of players and see that they would have been more equally matched against the 2005 team then yall are giving them credit for.

  5. BlueciferST

Good capture of how hard it is to stay relevant

  6. Spieth used to be 1? What the hell happened?

  7. The_Nutz16

Crazy that Adam Scott was still in the top 20 to start 2025.

  8. dmanthony41

I’d make a scramble team of 2005 Woods Singh Mickelson Els and bet the farm.

  9. redskinsfan30

The people on this sub would be inclined to say that Tiger in his prime playing his own ball would beat the top ten in the world today playing a scramble

  10. firmfaller

Crazy stat from this is that Justin Rose broke into the top 10 in 2007. Probably the closest guy to being in all 3 of the snapshots in this post.

  11. yiddoboy

Rosey and Rory only players on 2 lists.

  12. bigmean3434

2005 team all day and twice on Sundays. Vijay and els and FIGJAM were soooo good and overshadowed in that era.

  13. I can’t believe some of the names in the current top 10.

  14. rigidlynuanced1

    2005 and I’m not sure it’s close

  15. surgeon_michael

2015 the way they played in 2015? Those guys had insane shot making. 2005 in a standard tournament and 2015 in a Ryder cup

  16. Worth noting that living legend Justin Rose first entered the OWGR top 10 IN 2007 and here he is in 2025, 18 years later, still at the top level.

  17. mickjerker

I’d say it’s pretty cool that Justin Rose and Rory stayed ranking in the top 10 for a decade.

  18. smithjw13

I’m very confident that 2005 team could beat 2015 team today

  19. Twinflame5

Ok now do 1965 and 1975 if you really want to see star power. And yes I realize they didn’t have official rankings then.
    True golden age of golf.

  20. lildog8402

    Best Player in Each Rank (IMO): 1. 2005, 2. 2025, 3. 2015, 4. 2005, 5. 2015, 6. 2015, 7. 2005, 8. 2025, 9. 2015, 10. 2015.

    Total: 2005= 3, 2015= 5, 2025= 2.

    Rank #5 is close (2015v2005), #8 is close (2025v2015), #10 is close (2015v2025

  21. plasticcitycentral

Right? People would feel a lot differently about the current crew if it were listed as:
    1. Scottie
    2. Rory
    3. X
    4. Rahm
    5. Bryson
    6. Tommy
    7. Henley
    8. Hatton
    9. Hovland
    10. Niemann

  22. bigtome2120

Interesting how I look at the 2005 list and think that’s dead accurate. Then I look at 2025 and besides Scottie don’t really believe it. Must be biased

  23. Some-Nefariousness32

    Tiger wins vs everyone. Alone.

  24. LuxePhantom

2005 is very too heavy it would be too much to overcome for any other team to overcome.

  25. CameronsDadsFerrari

Shout-out Jim Furyk for being such a baller.

  26. HelpfulTumbleweed850

her: 💭he’s probably texting other women
him: *hopping on to Facebook to search #golf*

  27. OldSchoolSpyMain

    2005 players + 2025 equipment, training/recovery, physiotherapy, tech (launch monitors for detailed eval, etc…) = ?

  28. JacobC5353

Genuinely asking, what about Bryson DeChambeau? Where would he rank on here

  29. Jarich612

With it specifically being match play I think that it’s closer than a lot of commenters are thinking.

I’m dismissing 2025 out of hand because that’s not actually the best 10 players in the world, no disrespect to anyone on that list. It’s weak.

I think that 2015 and 2005 are closer in match play than they are in stroke play.

  30. Any-Virus7755

I don’t think athletes get worse over time. Whether it’s NBA players, MMA fighters, golfers, etc. You can really only compare them to their era. I think we let nostalgia blind us a bit.

  31. DannarHetoshi

2025 and it ain’t even close.

Tiger Woods pub stomps his opponent, but the 2025 squad is so much better overall
As long as they are led by someone semi-competent

  32. marvinfuture

Clearly not the team with Zach Johnson. He’d tell Jordan to club down in an important shot

  33. riosborne

Man I thought Justin rose was gonna be on all 3. What career that mans had.

  34. shadycoy0303

Hot take: Tiger would not have dominated today’s tour the same way he dominated in the early 2000s.

  35. Fast-Ad-4541

I’d pay good money to see 2005 Tiger and 2025 Scottie go head to head
