Tiger Woods is facing uncertainty regarding his competitive golf return, but PGA Tour veteran Davis Love III is hopeful for his comeback in January. After undergoing his seventh back surgery in October, Woods, who turns 50 in 2025, could start competing in the PGA Tour Champions for players over 50 if he recovers.

While Woods won’t participate in December’s PNC Championship or his Hero World Challenge, Love expressed enthusiasm for seeing him at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship in Hawaii in January. Love advocates for mandatory golf carts on the Champions Tour to accommodate players’ physical limitations, including Woods.

Zach Johnson, who recently turned 50, also supports Woods’ continued participation and noted his significant impact on the tour. Although Woods has confirmed his appearance at TGL matches in 2026 and will host the Genesis Invitational, his ability to maintain a rigorous practice schedule for major events remains uncertain.

The PGA Tour Champions may provide Woods a sustainable way to extend his career with shorter tournaments and the option to use golf carts. As fans watch closely, it remains to be seen if Woods can continue his legacy in competitive golf.
