This is one of the most anticipated end of year list when it comes to golf balls. Everyone wants max distance off the tee, which is why some will pay top dollar for golf balls like the Titleist Pro V1 and the Taylormade TP5. However this list includes a wonderful variety of both Premium and Value Golf Balls that all absolutely smashed record numbers this year off the tee.

If you are looking for Max Distance off the tee, while also saving some money, I highly recommend looking at this list.

This is the video that I bet a lot of you have been waiting for. This is what a lot of people really love as far as bread and butter, what you look for in a golf ball. To me, it’s not the most important, but it’s definitely high on the list. These are my top 10 golf balls that perform the best with the driver this year. 120 golf balls tested and these are my favorite 10. This is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I originally thought I was just going to be able to look off a list. I was like, “Oh yeah, this is easy. just look and see what the ball. No, like I went in, I crunched the numbers, smash factor, spin, ball speed, total distance. It actually was a lot more difficult than I thought, but I love how this list turned out. So, let’s dive right in. [Music] As always, thank you so much for the support. If you want to support this channel further, uh my membership just starts at a dollar a month. I keep it low like that. That way, you know, most people don’t notice a dollar out of their account. I do that so I can provide even more content to you all. And if you can’t afford that, I understand. Commenting, liking, subscribing, that helps the channel just as much. Thank you so much. All right, so let’s dive right into these. As I said, I took a combination of the rankings of their spin number, uh, their, uh, ball speed, their total distance, smash factor, combined them all together, kind of crunch the numbers, and these, in my opinion, were the 10 best I’ve tested this year. There are some really good that you probably will recognize, you know, from seeing them on other lists, robotic testing, but there’s going to be a few wild cards in here, too, that you haven’t heard of, and my golf ball addicts have. But if you’re new to the channel, if you’re new here, if you haven’t seen a video of mine before, you will see some new ones. So, let’s go ahead and dive right in. Number 10, we have the Sugar Pure. Now, Sugar has gone through some really tough times over the last couple years. But one thing I really love about them is uh they still make a great golf ball when it comes to the driver, at least when it comes to their three-piece. If we look at the chart here, here’s how the final rankings turned out. Um, now this is a chart I’m using for this specific video. As you can see that we have spin, smash factor, distance, ball speed, the amount as far as its score, and then the rank as how it ranks with all 120 other golf balls I’ve tested this year. So, just keep in mind that’s how big the pool is. As you can see, when it came to spin, 2100, that’s one of the lowest spins I’ve tested this year. It’s in the top, you know, 20% basically. Smash factor really good, tied for third. Distance 247.1, that ranked 10th this year. Ball speed was only 145, but that ranked 31st, which seems high, but the reality is with the smash factor, if I had just swung the driver slightly half a mile an hour, a full mile an hour faster, that would have been much, much higher. So, this golf ball explodes off the driver, has a great launch angle, very optimal, especially for those like mid fast swingers, you know, kind of like a 100 in that range. Really solid golf ball, fantastic feel. Number 10. At number nine, we have the Tailor Made TP5. And you could put the TP5 here. You could also put the TP5X here. They’re actually very, very close. I considered doing them double, but the way the chart works, it just didn’t work out. Um, I gave the edge to the TP5 because the spin was just a tad lower. Um, and really it was just as far as, you know, swing speed versus distance versus it was all so so close. It was just splitting hairs. I’m going to give it to the TP5, though, because I do find the TP5X to be a little firm. But when it comes to driver performance, they’re both awesome. They both did really, really well this year. Let’s look at the chart. As you can see, 2082 on the spin that ranked 19th again in the top 20% uh really good on spin. 1.49. Again, a great smash factor. 246.1 ranked 14th in total distance this year. Ball speed was 146.3. That ranked ninth. Uh that’s an overall great performance. And yeah, it’s a golf ball that really surprised me a lot this year, especially when it comes to tour balls because usually with the average golf or average swing, those don’t do great, but this one was a healthy surprise. At number eight, we have the Hanma TWWS or even the X if you want. They’re very close. Again, you could do either one. I crunched the numbers. I ended up going with the S because it had a little bit less spin, about 300 4 RP 400 RPM less. I enjoyed that a little bit more. Uh, but these are two great golf balls off the T. They retail at around $40 a dozen. They’re beautifully crafted and made. I I honestly wanted them to be my gamer, but I I don’t know. I’m still on the fence about that. However, if we look at the chart, as you can see, 2168 when it comes to your spin RPM, that ranks in uh for lowest the lowest 33% I tested. 1.50 is an excellent smash factor. Uh 246.3 ranks 13th in total distance. Ball speed is 146.3 and that’s 10th as well. Just an overall solid performance. It’s very good off the tea. And if you’re someone who likes to bend it, this golf ball has some really good bendability as well, which is also kind of why I’m on the fence, cuz I might not be as good as you are, but still. At number seven, we have the Callaway Chrome Tour. Um, so Callaway actually had a really good showing this year, especially with their tour balls when it came to off the tea. The Tour is no exception. I have not had a chance to test the X yet, so we’ll see how it does here in the next, you know, couple weeks. Hopefully, it does really well. Uh, but let’s look at the chart. I mean, we got 49th in spin. So, it is kind of a mid-spin golf ball. It’s right there kind of at the 50% mark, which probably knocked it down the list a little bit, but smash factor- wise, excellent. Distance, 247, that ranks 11th. Ball speed 146.3. It ranks 11th. There’s actually three golf balls that tested at 146.3. Um, I did not tie them. I didn’t realize till after the fact, but hey, still those are really solid numbers. And this golf ball, not only do I think is good off the tea, there has been a ton of viewer feedback that has really loved what it’s done as well. At number six, we have the Dow Wings Max Distance Golf Ball. Now, this is one that a lot of you have probably not heard of. This is a two-piece golf ball from a direct to consumer company, and uh I’ve tested them last year, tested them this year. You know, some people love it and hate it because of how firm it is, but here’s the reality. That firmness equals really, really good driver performances. I don’t like them because they’re $36 a dozen. For a two-piece, that’s really expensive. But if you’re looking for that top tier performance off the tee, let’s look at what we’re working with here. As you can see, this golf ball was the second lowest I tested when it came to spin this year. 19/19, that’s really low spin. 1.50 is tied for second again on your smash factor. 248.1 is sixth in total distance. And ball speed is 16th at 145.7. But when you combine that smash factor uh with the low spin I got, I mean, this golf ball, if I had swung just a little bit faster with the driver, it might have been the longest golf ball this year. So, this is an excellent powerhouse model and if you’re someone who the price doesn’t bother you, have at it. At number five, we have the Callaway Chrome Soft. This is another, you know, Callaway model that did really, really well this year. It’s probably my favorite Callaway model that I tested this year. Uh, just love what the golf ball did, not only on the driver, but with all the clubs. But if we specifically hone in on the driver, as you can see, 2252 on the spin, which, yeah, that’s more of a high spinning golf ball. It’s like a mid high. So that probably knocked it down a little bit, but 1.49 excellent smash factor. 248.1 ranks fifth and 147.1 ranks sixth. So those are both excellent when it comes to ball speed, total distance. I wish the spin had been a little lower, but for some of you, you might need a little bit higher spin or maybe you’re a low a low spin player to begin with and so maybe that won’t bother you. So overall, the Callaway Chrome Soft was an excellent model this year and it’s deserving of a top five spot. At number four, we have the Wright and Ditson golf ball. This is one of my favorites. Um, I’m sure people are tired of me talking about it because I talk about it all the time. Uh, this is a $30 a dozen model. It has an oldtimey look. Uh, it’s got like really oldtimey vintage. It’s kind of like a boutique ball, if you will, but it’s a fourpiece urethane option. And those four layers add a firmness that really explodes off the driver. If we look at the numbers here 2162 it ranks you know again kind of in that uh you know best of 33% mark 1.5 again great 250 look at that 2550 I love to see it third 147.4 for third. Love to see that. Overall, that is an excellent driver performance. And look, there are, you know, this golf ball isn’t perfect. It’s really, really good, but when it comes to that T performance, let it rip. At number three, this one might be controversial, but I have the MG Senior. And I understand that the MG Senior is technically an illegal ball. Um, why is it illegal? Well, because its initial velocity coming off the club is too fast. Look, we can sit here and debate that whether or not that’s actually a good thing for golf or not. I I think it’s silly personally. I know some of you really respect the rules and I respect that. You know, God bless you all. But for me, the reality is is I understand if your golf ball is self-correcting, I I understand all that. That’s cheating. But telling me that the golf ball is just too fast and it’s just too powerful and they designed it too well, that’s not a handicap. Like that’s that’s not a problem. You know what I mean? And so for me, I’m going to put it on this list. This is a two-piece model, $20 a dozen. Check out some of the numbers. 21101 with the spin. That ranks 24th. So in the, you know, bottom 20% for spin, which is great. 1.49 smash factor. Total distance, it ranked second. And total ball speed, 147.6, it ranked second. Those are just incredible numbers. And look, no, you can’t play them in a tournament. No. But if you’re someone who’s just playing the game for fun and you’re out there, I don’t see any reason why you can’t tee one of these up. I mean, again, if it was self-correcting or something or it was a golf ball that had a magnet and it went to the hole, I get that. But being too fast off the club, why why are we handicapping ourselves like that? I don’t get it. This is a golf ball meant for people who are just casually enjoying the game. Anyway, at number two, we have the next Gen Tour golf ball. This is one I have not released the review of yet, but I’ve talked about it in a couple shorts and on the live last night I did. Uh, this thing is a Japan golf ball made by Bridgestone, uh, for a retail store, I guess, that, you know, has it’s their in-house brand. I I I guess you can buy these on whatnot. I don’t know. It’s kind of a weird way to get them. You got to meet a guy in a back alley and, you know, knock three times. And anyway, tested these golf balls, fell in love with them. Here’s why. As you can see, 2244 is a little high on the spin, but 1.5 247.8 A rank ranks eighth in total distance. Think about how high that distance would be if the spin was just just a smidge lower. Not much, but just a smidge lower. It probably would be fifth, fourth, third. 148.1 is the fastest ball speed mile per hour I’ve tested this year. It just explodes off the club. Um, I love how the ball flight was. It has a penetrating flight. Yeah, I mean, this golf ball is really tops when it comes to driver performance. I just loved it. There was one golf ball that just slightly edged it out. And again, all these golf balls are just so close. The difference between 10th on this list and one on this list is so tight. It really was. I had to spend hours crunching these numbers. And number one is the PXG Extreme Tour. Um, yeah. I mean, it was number one on our our list or it was number two, excuse me, on our top 100 last year. It did extremely well when it came to the My Golf Spy testing and the robotic testing this year and for a good reason. It explodes off the tea. It’s very affordable. They take care of heroes. Look at these numbers. These are great. 2047 is just slightly lower spin than the MG Senior had. Uh Smash Factor 1.50. That’s tied for second again. 249.2 ranks fourth and 147.3 ranks fourth. So, it’s a golf ball that just has really good ball speed, really good uh you know, total distance. The spin was really, really low as well. Really good penetrating launch. I just Yeah. I mean, again, these golf balls, it’s it’s a shame because even as I’m doing this list, I’m like, “Well, did this one really does this one need to move up a spot?” Like, these are all so so close. But these right here, if you go with any of these 10 models I just listed, you’re going to have a good time on the T- box that day. I promise you. As always, I hope you enjoyed this video. Thank you so much. We do independent golf ball reviews, always an honest take. Keep watching, keep saving, keep learning. I’ll see you soon.

  1. Vice has a new golf ball collection you may want to check out, pricey though -Vice Pro Cosmic Collection.
Also can you do some ball review videos on the course, if you can.

  2. I'll guarantee you that the guy calling you out for a "non-conforming" piece of equipment is the same guy who is fluffing his ball inthe rough and picking up three footers …. Guarantee it! Fun video! Loved it!

  3. I gotta be honest I think you just got a lot better driving as the year went on, not a bad thing but def need to do head to heads at the same time year end to confirm results

  4. I’m really looking forward to the Nexgen Tour review. I bought a sleeve off eBay just to see what they’re like since you spoke so highly about it

  5. Nick, I have a challenge with the way you qualify spin. 2000-2200 is sufficient spin for people who swing well above 100 mph and have a decent attack angle of 4 degrees or better. Most GBAs swing below 100 and their spin should be closer to 2500 which would be optimal especially if they have less than 4 degrees and many are negative attack angle. Spin below 2000 is not going to keep the ball airborne, unless you button it and have a significantly positive AOA. Spin is not an absolute good or bad thing as something like SMASH, it is very subjective depending on the person holding the big stick.

  6. My beloved Chrome Tour and Chrome Soft made it! (They are 1-2 on my Top 10 list). It’d be cool to see a Top 10 or 15 of balls we can find in stores and pro shops and not the online only or hard to find. Just a thought!

  7. Amazing work, really liking these type of top 10 videos lately. Keep it up can’t wait for more 😎

  8. My imagonation…. Or was this kind of a weak year for Wilson? I know the Duo scored well and will be nicely placed in the top 100, but overall Wilson seems like a brand left behind in 2025

  9. Thanks for all you are doing, im definitely proud to be a subscriber, yeah only $1 a month, but honestly it's such a small investment to keep you doing what you're doing for all of us… Question, where did the Ultispeed land on driver performance list and where do you feel the Pinnacle Rush would land, those are two Amazing driver performers…
