Justin Thomas’ awesome drives on Nos. 16 and No. 18 at THE PLAYERS

thomas naught and paul azinger you referenced yesterday the low hook he hit off 18 t and the amazing low hook driver he hit off two earlier in this round boy those shots would fit really nicely here we’ll see if he does it he can hit that drill draw or just launch it straight up in the air oh wow there’s one that might have a little run on it there’s your drill draw right there fellas wow how do you like that it’s a shot maker yes you so seldom see that maybe with bubba watson going the other way that’s a perfect shape to give every inch out of it right in the center of the club face and just trust it as draw that 5 wood on 16 i mean how i played the entire 16th hole because that tee shot does not fit my eye but that’s a shot that i i’ve hit this week on two and then on 16 the last two days just kind of it’s similar to what i hit on ten of the gust i t at low and just shut the face and just kind of let it sling out there and try to get it on the ground and let it run and it was tough and to execute that exactly how we wanted was um was huge so i’d say although i had some really good long irons how i played 16 was was awesome today he’s got that five woody hit that spectacular low draw here yesterday [Music] he’s playing that big right to left looper easy it got close yesterday oh boy that got an incredible first bounce yeah it could have veered left it’s still gonna go left but it’s it looks like it’s gonna stay dry for the second day in a row wow that’s the longest five wood on record but bones is right that where it hit was a lot further to the left than it was yesterday he was feeling sick about it is it too too late to have a twirl there it is that’s so good wow are you nervous oh absolutely yeah when the ball was in the air i mean oh for sure i i mean i i can’t lie i thought it was very 50 50 on if it was even gonna be drier in the water i knew the only thing i knew is that i just absolutely smoked it that before obviously the farther up you get the better chance you have and i knew that um if you’re able to kind of get that little like down slope that i did or that i kind of hit on and i’m it can kind of get rolling um but i mean that’s the kind of stuff that happens when you win tournaments you get you get lucky breaks like that and um yeah it was it was too close for comfort to say at least i know he was with me all day today um you know both watching and right here so it’s um yeah i miss him i i miss my grandma you know thinking about her and uh he definitely maybe he pushed that ball a little bit to the right for me on 18. i was a little worried i know if he was if he would have been watching he would have been worried too hey i’m brooke skepka and thanks for watching the pg tour on youtube to watch another video here and subscribe right there

The PGA TOUR heads to the iconic Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass for the 2022 edition of THE PLAYERS Championship. The top 30 golfers in the FedExCup standings, including 2017 FedExCup winner and defending champion Justin Thomas, will tee it up this week. World No.1 Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland and Collin Morikawa are just some of the biggest names in golf battling it out for the $3.6 million winner’s share. Hovland remains one of the hottest players in the game, leading at the halfway point of the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard. Hideki Matsuyama is also in impressive form after winning the Sony Open this year. In 2020, Matsuyama tied the TPC Sawgrass scoring record (a 9-under 63) in the opening round and following the cancellation of that tournament, he’ll be aiming to go all the way for the first time this year. The reigning FedExCup Champion, Patrick Cantlay, is looking to continue his excellent start to the season – he’s finished outside the top 10 in just one of his five starts so far.

  1. The first sentence of the description is incorrect, it says, "In the final round of THE PLAYERS Championship 2022" instead of reading, "In the final round of THE PLAYERS Championship 2021"

    You're welcome.

  2. I still play a Titleist 980f 5 wood and it’s my go to club and I can honestly still hit that shot whenever I want! Only difference is mine goes about 230~240 not 295….that’s a really long 5 wood and to have balls to hit it on 18 is awesome

  3. The first sentence of the description is incorrect; it should read "In the final round of THE PLAYERS Championship 2021," not "In the final round of THE PLAYERS Championship 2022."

  4. Correction: DRIVER on 16. If you don’t believe me, rewind it…and even look at the cover the caddie is placing on club compared to the actual 5W hit- and subsequently covered- on hole 18. 🤣

  6. hitting a hook low is not incredible…just watch Tom Weiskopf or Tom Lehman at the Masters, but hitting a Tiger cut stinger low with a 3W is way more incredible! 😉
