Today I will show you how to hit a downhill lie chip shot.
This downhill lie is referring to left foot low slope.
In this case the ball will run out a lot more than usual because
1. Ball runs out more on a downhill lie
2. Slope and ball position de-lofts the club face
3. Light rough takes back spin off the ball slightly

Couple things you have to do on a downhill slope
• Wide stance
• Ball position is more to the right
• Weight is 60-70% on the left leg
• Grip down
• Don’t use hands to hit, soft hands, hands are just holding the club
• Hips & abs turn-push
• Calculate correct landing spot so the ball is allowed to run out more

hey guys it’s Amy so a lot of you guys asked about downhill chipping technique where the left foot is lower than the right foot so I’m going to go ahead and show you okay so the overall is quite severe Downs slope I’m in a rough but the rough isn’t that thick and I actually have a fairly good lie so I’m going to treat it as kind of a regular Fairway SL light rough uh downhill chip okay so let me show you it’s about 17 yards or so usually with my 58 lob wedge I land it about 2/3 of the way and then it runs out about 13 okay but this time since it’s on a downhill slope obviously it’s a uh a lot faster so I’m going to land it about one third of the way and then it’s going to run out the rest of the way um so basically when I set up obviously I’m going to have to have a wider stance than a normal Chip Shot I would have it very narrow but downhill I have to have stability so wider stance weight is 60 to 70% on the left foot the ball p goes to the right of the middle depending on how severe the slope is if it’s really severe I’d have to be way in the right if it’s not that severe it’s about I’ll say 20% incline here so I’ll put it maybe a above back and I’m going to land it about say 5 Ys here and then let it run okay so about 70% on the left foot ball is about a wall right I’m going to choke down on it it’s going to deloft my 58° so it’s going to act like it’s about 54° so it’s going to run out more and since it’s a light rough it’s going to run out even more because of the grass between the club and the ball is going to give it less spin so it’s going to run more okay so I’m going to not hit it hard I’m just going to kind of feel like I’m putting almost but I’ll keep my weight on the left and I’m going to let my hips and abs kind of move turn and push kind of thing so I’m not use hands I’m just going to go five yards turn push weight on the left turn push I’m going to have my hands very [Music] soft let’s watch that again so basically my hands are just holding the club my wrist aren’t going to do much and I’m turning and pushing and letting the clo head do the work [Music] [Applause] thanks guys for watching and if you like the video please press the like button and I’ll see you guys in the next lesson
