LONG BEACH, Calif. – Alyssa Waite and Lexi Nielsen have announced that two International high school golfers have inked their commitment to Long Beach State and will be joining the program next season.
 
Lavinia Bürger | Berlin, Germany
 
Lavinia Burger has a strong background in European Golf, and has ranked in the Top 500 in the World Amateur Golf Rating with seven Top 10 finishes, including a pair of second place finishes in the last two years at the 2024 GJG Season Kickoff and the DM Vorausscheid in 2025. Most recently, she finished tied for sixth place at the German Junior National Championship.
 
Waite on Bürger:
“Lavinia brings a ton of experience with team golf in Germany, and has really made great strides with her game over the last two years. Her bubbly personality with add to the great team atmosphere that we have now.”
 
Jinghan “Ashley” Hu | Beijing, China
 
Jinghan Hu comes to the Beach from Beijing, but has competed worldwide at the junior level, including capturing a win at the AJGA Junior at Geneva in Iowa in May of 2025. While competing in China, Hu closed the season with back-to-back podium finishes, placing third at all-ages National Amateur Golf Future Leg 4 including a final round 69, as well as the CLPGQ Chongqing Series 4 where she finished three-under par for the tournament.

“Ashley has been playing very consistently over the last year, improving her scores with every event. She has been playing in events with professionals, testing her skills and pushing herself to be prepared for the next level.”
 
Long Beach State begins their spring season on February 14, hosting the Alice and John Wallace Classic from Monterey Country Club in Palm Desert, Calif.
