Sean Zak explains how Laurie Canter made history.
It’s time PJ tour fans meet the boy who lived. Lorie Caner, the English wizard who once played a full season with Ian Poulter on the Majestics. He made more than $5 million playing 20 live events, but eventually the rival tour got rid of him in favor of someone with higher name recognition. That’s Anthony Kim. And because of golf’s neverending wars, Caner had to wait a full year after his last lift start before he could play any PJ tour events. He didn’t take it personally. He did take his remaining European tour status and suddenly played the best golf of his life. Last year he won the European Open. This year he won the brain championship, unlocking an invite to this year’s players championship. It hasn’t been orthodox or any or anything. He became the center of attention during first timers interviews that week because all players championship rookies get cuff links from noted live hater Jay Monahan. It’s been a feast or famine year ever since with just enough feasting that he ranked among the top 10 not already exempt players in the race to Dubai. All of which guarantees him full status on the PGA Tour next year, making him the first ever player to have lived and come back stronger.

"noted LIV hater" hah
LIV has about 2 more years and they’ll be pulling the plug. It’ll be interesting as the original contracts end this season to see what guys do. LIV has consistently struggled in the number 1 sports market in the world, the US! The Senior PGA and LPGA regularly beat them in ratings, in-fact reruns of popular TV shows of last century regularly beat LIVs ratings!
