The HATE is Out of Control for Kai Trump!

The hate is out of control for Kai Trump, the granddaughter of current President Donald Trump. She is getting a lot of heat on in the social media world, and that’s what we cover here. So, we’re going to cover this. Now, it’s tricky. I’ve wrestled with this. She is an 18-year-old senior high school student. So she is a University of Miami commit next year to play golf for the University of Miami. So the hate is coming from all types politically. She can’t do anything about her name, but there’s a lot of hate focused just because of her name. A lot of hate focused on the fact that she didn’t earn her spot in the LPGA event, the Anukica event, which happened this past weekend, that the only reason she was given a invitation was because of who she is and therefore she didn’t earn it. Okay? And she did in fact finish dead last and miss the cut. Okay? Like, so is hate hate’s never good. All right. So, did she is the criticism valid? And we’re going to go through that. Also, there’s a lot of interesting things associated with this that go way deeper and they go far far in the world of golf that I think I found fascinating. So, you let me know your thoughts. I love it all. First of all, let’s just start with we’re not going to go through all the hate comments because that would just, you know, that’s never good. We we’re not going to feed the flames there. But let’s look at what her performance was in the Anukica event in Florida this past weekend. And round one, you would imagine an 18-year-old would be incredibly nervous playing in an LPGA event. I mean, the best players in the world, right? So, she comes out round one and shoots an 83. And so you can see that that is just puts her right down there at the bottom plus 18. So tough start. Now you would think, hey, she’s going to follow that up with something similar, but she doesn’t actually. She actually shoots a 75 and uh has an incredible second round with one, two, three, four birdies. Couple double bo uh triple bogey and a double bogey. Anyways, 75. So, no birdies in round one, 75 in round two. Round one, obviously the 83 was the highest round of the day of the tournament. And round two, you would think 75 might put her in the middle somewhere, but that was actually the second highest round of round two. So 76 was the highest round for the second round. Anyways, she misses the cut and you know, comments flying all over the place because of her invitation to the Anukica. Now, keep in mind though, a 75 at a professional event for an 18-year-old female, that is division one, you know, acceptable scores. So, I think we can look at her golf ability and say, “Wow, like she actually is pretty good and earned through hard work a division one golf scholarship to the University of Miami regardless of who she is.” And I always say, look, we all get benefits because of our name, who we know, right? Opens doors for us to job opportunities and all kinds of things. So, you can’t do anything about what your name is, but you can work hard, practice hard, and be diligent and earn a division one scholarship, which she did. What What was this something that uh could have been given to a more accomplished player? Of course. But what is the goal of the LPGA? They want to get views. They want to get more viewers. They want to get younger viewers. Now, according to the Business Journal, the um Sports Illustrated, the LPGA tour sites, and others that I’ve researched, the average viewer of the LPGA, interestingly, is 35 to 44. It’s actually a lot younger than the PGA Tour viewer. It’s still primarily male, but it’s interesting that it is already by nature younger. So that’s something that the PGA Tour and other golf events are trying to get. So for them to invite an 18-year-old social media superstar, it makes a lot of sense. Did the numbers reflect that? We’ll get to that in a minute. Now Kai Trump on social media, her Instagram account is currently at 2.5 million followers. So, she has a pretty huge Instagram following, primarily focused on her golf content. Her YouTube content focuses a lot on vlogging and some golf content. Currently, she’s at 1.6 million subscribers. She’s posted 200 videos. So, she posts a lot of videos, a lot of content, a lot of vlog style, and a lot of golf now. So she gets tons and tons of views and engagement with her content and the LPGA as they try to reach not only young women but young audience they look at would look at her and say she is getting the eyeballs from the audience that we desire. So they invited out to the Anukica. They invited Caitlyn Clark to play in the ProAm and they invited, you know, others and they invited Kai Trump to play in the tournament itself. Here’s what’s interesting. on property for the ProAm. Attendance was up 30% for the ProAm to see Caitlyn Clark, one of the world’s, you know, most popular female athletes. Now, how many how much of attendance jump was there for Thursday and Friday for Kai Trump? Interestingly, on site the attendance was up 60% on property for Kai Trump to see her. That’s interesting. And so that just goes to prove that what they did was working. And obviously the TV uh coverage focused a lot on what she was doing. So, they are getting exactly what they’re hoping for. More views, younger views. Did she earn it? Well, she’s put hundreds of videos online. She gets hundreds and millions and millions of views, and she puts in the work on her golf game to play pretty well. So, could it have gone to somebody who’s better? Of course. But she has worked incredibly hard to earn the ability to play golf at a very very high level. So for that I say all the hate is people are going to say what they say. Now there’s so many more interesting pieces to this and they all say, “Oh, she only got what she got because of her grandfather.” Well, her father is Don Trump Jr. and her mom is Vanessa. Interestingly, her mom, Vanessa, is currently dating Tiger Woods. So, maybe that had something to do with it. We don’t know, right? But Tiger Woods is one of the world’s greatest golfers to ever live, dating Kai’s mom. And so, they’ve got some connections. Now, I I if as private as Tiger Woods likes to be, I don’t know what his advice to Kai would or would not have been. I mean, he’s just dating her mom, but I would think that she may ask him like, “Hey, should I do this or not do this?” Who knows what he said, but nonetheless, she did it. And it worked out great for the LPGA in terms of engagement, clips, social media, even uh the broadcast for Thursday and Friday. more interesting. And they they just kind of went went off on this. They didn’t really dive into this like I would, but here’s what is interesting. Her caddy. Who is Kai Trump’s caddy for the event? Well, she did a video with her her caddy. Who’s her friend? This guy Allan Cornova. Now, you might recognize the name from her his older sister, Anna Cornova, tennis superstar. Okay, this is her younger brother who’s a good golfer. Okay, and you could see how good he is from the video he did with Kai where they’re trying to break 30 and you can see, oh, the guy’s pretty good. Well, the guy’s not just pretty good. He was once one of the best junior players in the world. You may have seen or not seen the Netflix movie The Short Game with these little kids running around practicing and preparing for the World Championship at Pinehurst. Well, guess who was a major superstar in that show? You guessed it, Allan Cornova. Now, he went on to not only be a superstar in the short game, the movie, but in 2012 at age seven, he wins the US kids world championship at Pinehurst. Now, I know a lot about this. My kids played in many world championships. This is not easy to do. These kids are good. I’ve seen him firsthand up close. They’re good. chipping, putting the short game, a lot of I mean these kids are world class. He wins it. I mean, hundreds of players are playing in this. 2012 he wins the World Championship. 2013, the next year at age 8, he wins it again. What about 2014? In 2014, he finished in third place. So, pretty good at four under. 2015 he wins it at age 10 and at 2016 he’s down in 15th place at age 11. Then he kind of goes, you know, off-rid. We we don’t really hear much about him for for a long time after that for whatever reason. Maybe we could get him on the podcast one day. Allan, we’d love to have you on, by the way. So, we’d love to to chat with you. But now he’s currently a pro and he plays primarily on the the minor league golf tour. It’s a Florida mini tour. And as you can see, he shoots anywhere from 66, there’s an 86 on here somewhere, but his highest check so far this year was for $420. This just goes to show how difficult golf is to be one of the best junior players on the planet, multiple junior world championships, and then kind of MIA for a long time, bouncing around mini tours, great player, great friend of Kai Trump. And it’s just an interesting connection. Golf is a small small universe and there’s a lot of interesting overlaps and connections which I absolutely love. So regardless of whether you agree or not agree with whether she should have been invited to the LPGA event, it is incredibly interesting and it was massively beneficial for the LPGA. The question I have for everyone is, should they continue down this road to invite her and women in the social media golf influencer space into their events? Or should they do something different? That is the real question. But I think it was a home run for the LPGA based on all the eyeballs and interest they got for this event. So, good job Anukica and crew for thinking outside the box and doing something pretty pretty uh risktaking, I would say. Let me know your thoughts. See y’all

  1. TDS is now a recognized mental health issue. It’s sad and says something about the people who hate on her. More importantly, it says something about how the media has divided our country more than ever before.

  2. I don’t know how it happened, but golf social media now matters to both LPGA and PGA; so, yes. The invite makes sense.

  3. DJT as my granddad, all the opportunities in the world, billions to fall back on, do whatever I want in life. Man give me 10 times that "hate". 100 times the "hate".
Sorry, I can't hear your hate from 30,000 feet in my private jet, peasants!

  4. As a racing driver and golf passionate, I have to say, that it takes some courage to play in that type of event. She had an opportunity and she took it! The most important thing is her great recovery and finish the last round. That is impressive to me! She got a great experience by playing there. It will be great for her game and confidence. Let's make a peaceful world! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

  5. Cool idea. She seems cool. It was nice to acknowledge family before politics. Also I think popularity is psrt of pro sport. Isnt that why people get paid to play. I reckon tournaments should be 100 tour card players, 10 local pros, 10 invites based on social media attraction. Almost a new pro catergory has been created. Golf Inc should regard YouTube golfers who attract people to the game as pros

  6. TDS is a serious disease. But then leftists have a weak immune system and they are susceptible to any bug that comes along. Maybe that is why they want free healthcare.

  7. Her using tax payer resources (security, staff, space) to set up and sell her merch from the White House lawn and grounds was somethings else…what’s that called…grifting?

  8. Matt, there is something Kai Trump could do about her name; change it. 1. But that would entail estrangement. Only 50% of the country thinks her granddaddy is "an existential threat to democracy.' That leaves the other 50% who do not, and elected him to a second term, so perhaps Kai is in the latter group. 2. Sponsor exemptions have been given to both celebrities and aspiring professionals. Clark and Korda played with an aspiring pro invitee, Northwestern All-American Lauryn Nguyen, on pro-am day(sadly Nguyen missed the cut). Clark, a wnba superstar and hack golfer was invited due to her connection with Gainbridge. 3. Politics makes strange bedfellows. Clark, who has a close relationship Taylor Swift who despises Trump(I can only assume Clark does too), was invited as well as Kai. So, you have a superstar basketball player probably adverse to Trump and Trump's granddaughter in the same pro-am, all in an effort to draw eyeballs to the lpga. I'm not sure if this year's attendance surpassed last year or not, perhap's Clark's lustre is beginning to wear off? 4. I'm always amazed how little a following the LPGA has when they truely have remarkable golfers, best in the world, playing week in and week out. I can understand the wnba not being popular except for a couple of teams and players, but literally every LPGA pro is an exceptional golfer. 5. Speaking of really talented young golfers, who can forget Lydia Ko who won 2 LPGA events as a fifteen year old amateur and two lpga Majors by age 18. This is the poster child of a talented young golfer.

  9. Kai is an outstanding ambassador for the USA. Can you imagine the responsibility that she must feel being the granddaughter of the President of the United States. I am so impressed with the way she handles herself on and off the golf course.

  10. Sponsors get x amount of invites to give to whomever they please. They foot the bill, they get to choose. Clearly the pick got the angry about everything and anything crowd all riled up. It's a smart move on their part. How many additional people watched, searched her results, commented, etc…versus some random invite that does not move the needle?

  11. Social media became a problem when it 1st started. Plus there's so much hate in the world today because of it. Kai can't win either way. Much like GabbyGolfGirl🤔🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘👍👍

  12. we drove 4.5 hours to see her play. she was outdriving the others on occasion and played well for 18. Everyone there treated her with respect so the media hype is a bunch of nonsense. definitely odd standing there with secret service staring at us 2 feet away. bubby from good good was there. wonder what he saw/heard.

  13. The reality is that golf influencers and Youtube golf has an entertainment value that is growing and appeals to a different audience than traditional professional golf whether it is mens or women's. Melding the influencers, into the fabric of professional golf is a smart business move for both the PGA or LPGA tours that are struggling for an audience. It is a win win for both professional golf and the golf social media influencers. Since the Annika Tournament is a Pro-Am event, the sponsors should be able to invite whomever they choose (amateur or professional) to fill those sponsor exemption spots. Bringing in popular golf social media influencers , celebrities passionate about golf, or popular professional athletes from other sports is clearly a financial benefit to the tournament. It raises the entertainment value of golf for many people. If you are not complaining about Caitlin Clark playing then you have no justification for complaining about Kai Trump. Personally, I would like to see more popular amateur celebrity golfers playing side by side with the pro's. I think it would grow the game, increase viewers and raise revenue for the tournament. I am no fan of DJT, but I have no problem with Kai Trump receiving an invitation to participate in the tournament. She has a huge social media presence and thus can sell tickets. That is why she is there. Plus, as a parent, what a great experience for a young person who is passionate about golf! I am sure she will fondly remember this experience for the rest of her life. If there were more celebrity amateur players in the field, I suspect Kai would have received less hate. Looking forward to a time when people can separate politics from the rest of life and lean into being good humans again.

  14. The sponsor invite should be based on rankings; Kai is not even ranked on world amateur golf rankings, that’s the top 3000 in the world; it should be based on performance leads to invites, Not on how many subscribers on your social media channels or likes you have that’s artificial and superficial and even fictitious (fake).

  15. she almost holed out the par 3 and won a car on friday. not sure if they showed it but closer than the other two women. the hate is a bunch of nonsense. she signed authographs afterwards but it got a bit crazy and they did have to get her out pretty quickly. she defintely had more people following her than anyone else but it would be similar to a mid-tier liv player…not even 2 rows deep around the tee box. i didn’t hear one heckler and we followed her for the whole round.

  16. This is the problem with the Trump administration agenda, kids get caught up in their rhetoric and their policies. It's all in the optics. If she's so good, why didn't she get invited last year, Tiger Woods was with her mom last year?? She plays better than me and her grandfather is the President, I say let her play. We're in a sad place in this country, were politicians are in everything from the air we breathe to the golf we play😢😢😢😢 This is an example of who it hurts in the long run, our children.

  17. secret service were on it. had 5 or so agents following her plus local police making sure she could get around safely. ridiculous that that is necessary. i was 5 people deep at the end where she was signing and a plain close secret service agent got in my face and told me to put a pen away. the thought that someone would try something and that they have to worry about it is madness. those she was playing with said nice shot multiple times. Olivia Cowan’s caddie was seriously annoyed with the noise. he kept scolding the fans beyond what was necessary and that was getting old.

  18. literally nobody goes to these LPGA events. i was there. there is no way they are making any money. 1000x less than a liv event. its like watching a college tournament. we got up at 3:30am and drove 4.5 hours to see her play. sponsor’s agenda accomplished. what is so hard to understand?

  19. scottie sheffler told grant horvat in the video they did together that he “earned it” and should play in the PGA event. grant felt like he was cutting the line but scottie said that is not how it works. he said he should play because its good for the game. you haters saying scottie’s take on sponsor exemptions is off base?

  20. not understanding the point of an sponsor’s exemption is baffling. the goal is to draw fans. we drove 4.5 hours to see her play and have never once gone to an LPGA tournament. bubby from good good was there. nobody goes to these events. they cannot be making much if any money with these events. its actually sad to see bleachers put up that nobody is sitting in. the higher tier ticket areas make no sense. she brought a bit more money in for the tour and a ton of eyeballs just by showing up. the hate is caitlin clark all over again. the “legitimate” players dont draw a crowd. welp she did so….

  21. Haters gonna hate. Did Steph Curry or Tony Romo get invites cuz they were gonna win? No, they were going to get views. Did Michelle Wie or Annika Sorenstam get invites to men’s events cuz they might win? No, televisions numbers only. Grant Horvat turned the invite down, cuz he knew they just wanted his YouTube viewers. She got an invite, shot 83-75, HS student. Didn’t fold in the 2nd round. Tough girl.

  22. Thanks for the perspective mate, personally if you an invite to something like that all I can set is congrats and good luck

  23. Its only obvious why she is being talked about. Come on. If it were any other person that got that exemption that does not have the type of social status she does, no one would be talking about it. You gotta give her credit. Im pretty sure people were telling her the backlash she would expect if she joined but she did it anyways, even though she was dead last.

  24. I think it shows that she has the no fear attitude about finishing dead last. She definitely has the skills to be LPGA material. But at the end of the day, she is 18 and a Senior in high school. I applaud her for putting her game on world viewing, not something many would do. Just my thoughts.

  25. The haters are the low life Democrats! Nobody cares about them! She has plenty of love out there!

  26. i think its a disgrace, the way this young girl is treated, forget her family, she was born into it, young females have it hard enough,
she put herself out there, did she bomb, no, did she learn 100%, how many Pro's have bombed in their career.
i agree her name and presence will have helped bring views, was she thinking that when playing, Has she learned, yes, she can go away work on her game. If she was Kai Smith, and her parents mary and joe, working normal jobs, you would never have noticed her
