The Vancouver Canucks beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 6-2 with great performances from Elias Pettersson, Quinn Hughes, Mackenzie Macechearn in a gutsy 3rd period effort to score 6 unanswered goals after going down by 2 early on.

All right. Wow, that was a very pleasant surprise. I don’t know what to say because even partway through this game, I certainly wasn’t expecting that type of a finish from this Vancouver Conucks team, who, keep in mind, didn’t have the greatest effort near the end of that game against Carolina the other night. They really were just hanging on for dear life after getting the lead midway through the second period and let that one slip away from them. Tonight they kind of continued that trend where they were hemmed in a lot, outshot heavily 13 to1 in that first period and I was really worried it was going to turn out to be just one of those throwaway boring games. The fact it was 2 p.m. a matinea on Sunday wasn’t a very good start and this game just didn’t have that much going in that first period at all. the Lightning on a second half of a backtoback, but the Vancouver Conucks looking equally as tired. And in that first period, I was losing my mind because you look on the other end of the ice, it’s not every day that you don’t have to go up against Andre Vaselki when you play the Tampa Bay Lightning. We got the chance to play their backup because their second half of a backto-back after playing Florida the other night. They had Johansson in who’s not a terrible goalie, but any chance you get to play a backup, you have to test him. And the Canucks weren’t really doing that good of a job of that in the first half of this game. When they finally started putting up a couple of shots towards the goal, albeit they did get a little bit lucky, it started to go their way. Who would have thought, right? And I can’t lie to you, the Canucks this whole season haven’t really had fortune on their side tonight. They definitely got that in that third period. I will take it any day of the week because the amount of times the Canucks have had a shot bounce just wide, hit the post, land on the goal line has been absurd this year. They needed something to go their way and I’m glad it did. It came at the perfect time because this team was looking dead in the water. But I guess that goes to show you anything can happen, especially with this team which has been unpredictable every single night. Let’s talk about this game. Starting off with the first period of play. The one thing that has stayed consistent with this Vancouver Canucks team is them picking up injuries. Tonight it’s Connor Garland who left after this fight. Unfortunate and I would be a lot more upset about it if the Canucks had lost today. But still, when will it end? This is getting ridiculous at this point. Hopefully Garland is okay for tomorrow, but we’ll have to wait and see. Anyways, not much to say about the Vancouver Conucks in this period as they were under siege for most of it. Tampa Bay had some good chances, but Lankin was strong early on in the last minute though. It’s a shot here from Cooerov off of this feed. It just barely squeaks by Kevin Lankin and gives Tampa Bay a one to nothing advantage. Moving on now to the second period though, and it’s more from the Lightning. This time it’s Jake Gensel who gets on the end of this shot here from the point. Beats Lankin, makes it two nothing. But then the Conucks get a power play. Quinn Hughes back from injury. Person with a nice shift and a shot falls in front to Jake De Brusk who puts it in to make it a 2-1 game. I got to say, man, Person’s looked a lot better. I think he has 11 points in his last 11 games. He’s been great defensively. Hope he can keep this level up. But with that, let’s move on now to the third period of play. Kucks with another power play. Besser here in front. goes off of Sherwood and then off a Lightning player and bounces into the back of the net. Lucky break, but we take it. Two- two tie. Not even a minute later though, it’s a shot here from McKer and it floats in and Lenus Carlson gets on the end of it. Another deflection and just like that, the Vancouver Conucks have the lead. But then like a minute after that, the Canucks with another goal. Quinn Hughes floats one from the point and Drew O’ Conor tips it in. Unlucky for Johansson, but man, this is why you throw stuff on net. You never know what happens. The Canucks now have a 4-2 advantage and they’re holding on to the lead until the Lightning finally get one back. Or at least it seems so as this one leaks by Lankin. But then the Canucks Adam Foot challenges it for a high stick that should have been called earlier from Gensel. And as you can see, it was clearly a high stick. So the challenge is successful. The score stays 4 to2. And the Conucks after that capitalize with another deflection goal. This one goes off of Mckran and in for his first goal as a Vancouver Canuck. Love to see it. Marcus Person with his first of the year as well. Ices this one to make it a 6-2 final. And the Canucks are back to 500 on this road trip. They are 10 and1. Look to make it 20 and one with a win in Florida tomorrow. So yeah, that’s all for this one. Give me your thoughts on it. It’ll be a quick turnaround cuz I’ll have a video tomorrow for the Florida game. Thank you for watching. Subscribe if you’re new. Peace out and take care.

It's nice to see a nice result for a change but the key is consistency. Have the Canucks even won 2 in a row this year? If they can beat the defending champs tomorrow, I'll say something nice.
Once in a while it's nice to get a bounce or two our way!
we're turning into the old calgary flames with the point shot garbage goals.
5 GOALS on 17 shots. ☘
keep up the great vids!
Just Amazing!
I was happy to see the third goal didn’t count. Was also a pretty bad goal to let in.
They don't ask how, but do ask how many. That was a puck luck pinball wizard of a win. Hope Garland is OK.
5 goals in the third period was not on my bingo card
Mackenzie MacEachern = special sauce
Every time I watch a Canucks game they're always out shot by the other team. Even last year it seemed that way. Just an observation from the games I've seen.
garland did come back out after that fight and played like nothing had happened
Garland has a fight before Kane.. haha
This game coulda been 5-1 the other way through the first, but Lank the Tank gave us a chance. I guess that’s why to spend money on a backup. 6 goals with 18 shots on the road verse a team like that is utterly WIIILD 👀
Man, i get that you are proud of the canucks but i don’t remember a game where the canucks outshot a team? like seriously almost every game they get outshot doubled and demko has to steal them games. They can’t keep surviving like this.
Wow one in a row. Don't over blow this thing
Cheap goals and just luck 😂
Linus Karlsson got Macechearns goal
Anytime I choose to skip a game they do this kind of shit…
Should I skip their games more often?
Man I miss your streams man please come back and stream.
Sucker punch rang Garland's bell. Hope he was just taken out for precautionary reasons.
Probably the worst 1st period I've seen them play all season. Couldn't believe how they came out in the 3rd. Great effort.
Just curious Deaner, why do you include snippets of interviews while you are talking? You can’t hear them speaking and you use the same snippets in multiple videos. Why not just keep rolling snippets of the actual game? This is just me being nit picky, I know, but I find it (for lack of a better word) irksome. Don’t get me wrong, I really like your commentary and videos in general and I’m certainly not trying to be a jerk or anything. I’m just honestly curious.
Every Canucks game I'm screaming at the TV" shoot the puck" it seems like every player has a pass first mentality and it's not working, in the Tampa Bay game they shot the puck a lot more and got some lucky bounces. Maybe they should use this tactic more often….🤷♂️
2 very injured teams, it was bound to be high scoring. Glad they got the points but clickbait title
