No one won more points than that man in Rome. But we all know how things can change on foreign soil. [Applause] Here it comes now on the TE’s representing the United States of America English. Dead straight. That’s to win the hole. No practice stroke but straight in with a perfect one. Never in question. Maroy and Fleetwood go one up through one. [Applause] All right. worry. The sixiron trying to be the first player to hit it right of the flag today has not succeeded. But does he have enough? Nope. Just short. It’s good club selection. Just over the last year or so, he’s become a much better putter. No practice stroke. He just goes straight in. Bit like the puck. Well done. Great half from Maroy and they stay one up after three. And good escape from the Europeans as they head towards the par five, especially when it’s Rory hitting second. Yeah, looks like he’s aiming right. He’s got it right to the fly. He’s going to hit a high sweeping kind of draw in there. Looks like he’s pulled it off perfectly. Just short though. Wow. Boy, he was flag hunting there. Looks like just short plugged in the bunker to win the fourth to go two up in the third match. [Applause] USA up in two but one up and Europe two up and two Maroy for birdie and the win to go to three up. Maroyy’s hold two nice putts already make it three. had to delay the call as it dropped in the back edge. Mroy, just a short iron. This should be good. It certainly is another magnificent shot from Maroy. He has come to play this week. What a special human being. Grand slam winner Rory. This is to win the hole. Two putts may win it as well. They’re already four up. That’s great speed. Exactly what he had to do. A great lag putt. Yeah, with the USA still with work left to do. Birdie putt for Maroy. He walks it in. Everything is just going Europe’s way. I mean it is just an amazing effort from team Europe on this first morning. It’s not quite shades of Rome where they went 4 and0 in that opening Forsome’s session, but it’s not far off it. Better angle than Harris. Might be able to just drift in left to right. Might be a slightly better player as well. Oh, no way. Come on. Oh, come on. I mean, he in my mind, he’s the best ball striker in the world by a good bit. The best I’ve ever played with. Not that shot, though. But, um, he is the best. When he’s firing, he’s just so fun to watch. Rory for the birdie up the hill after Tommy’s not so great wedge shot. Let’s see if he can get the pace right. Look at Tommy getting in there quickly to get a read if he needed it. and he will need it. But you don’t get a read when putt is left short. Eight iron here. And such a difference between a four iron and eight iron and Rory Maroy. The ability to hit it up in the air and land it softly and and just a commercial shot. He doesn’t need to take the pin on. You know, he’s four up and your opponent’s in trouble. Just put it anywhere on the green. So there’s the par back at 12 to win the hole. All that’s required ahead of Rory Mroy here to go five up, which they do. There’s no looking back for he and Tommy Fleetwood now. [Applause] [Applause] just wrote it there. Just doing the just in the easy thing. 13 tied by Mroy there. Their five up margin remains headed to 14. So, as predicted, it’ll be on Justin Thomas now. Mroy to win his match back at 14. [Music] [Applause] Good fight. Gosh, that was a great part. Yes. [Applause] He’s going for it. The line’s good. Oh, what a drive. I mean, just no run out. It’s got a bounce on it. It’s on the green. Back to Rory at the first. Didn’t quite bite on the second bounce there. Oh, this would be a painful one. Two Americans in close. A great one for Europe. Not much break here. He’s been so solid all morning. Oh, that was a poor B there. He was off that very early, Sam. He was up and out of it. [Applause] A couple of opportunities for the United States. You would expect them to take one of them. Rory Mroy put his T-shot through the fairway into the rough. Just a change of club there. I don’t know if the tree Yeah. is sort of bothering him off this very side slope right to left lie. At least the pins on the left so he can use the slope here to work it in. He’s down the grip long way down as well. So maybe he’s just got to keep it low underneath the branches. Kind of like that done. Something like that. Well, that wasn’t too shabby. Good choice of club change there, Rory. Fantastic. Kind of knows what he’s doing though. Maroy should certain this shot just up the right hand side and just let the wind and his natural draw into the left flag. Oh, what a shot from Mroy. You called that, Dom. The twirl. You don’t twirl when it goes in the rough, do you? The advice paid off from the gentleman in the crowd. I wonder if he’ll thank them. Inside, right? Surely sees the moment. Brilliant on the greens the last year or so. [Applause] You called that, David. Definitely broke more. You’ve seen Canley’s pup go across the hole. I think Rory was the same. I think he just got caught out with that. It obviously doesn’t look that way. I think that’s probably the first putt that Mroy has missed so far today. But it’s an escape for the United States. Upslope for Maroy. [Music] Just a short iron and he’s done well. Par five, remember. Huge drive. Mroy to win the hole and to go up to take the advantage in this bottom match for Beard. A very outside chance. You don’t hold a lot of these. Larry nice bunker shot. It’s freed Maroy up here to give this a nice roll at the Eagle three. It’s a fine effort. I suspect that’ll be good. Good. Can’t lay in close. There’s only one way to quieten them down now. Come on. You’re on. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] That wasn’t his best shot. Mroy [Applause] shades of Monty chip there back in the day. That’s a great shot from there. Yeah, standard 72 whole event. You’d be saying well played sir. And match play not quite good enough. Huge drive from Bryson Land for Maroy. A little runner up the green. Nicely played. Could he find one on this green? Yeah, because that green you you think it slopes down from the right hand side down to that pin. So it sort of goes against the grain here. Oh, look at the reaction from Mroy. And he and Shane Larry do go one up in the bottom match. So Europe up in two, the United States up in two. [Applause] One tabless I think Ferrari. [Applause] Needs a bounce. Nearly got it. Her kept alive. It’s not beyond the realms of possibility. You could chip that one in. Shane will be watching this as well just to see how it finishes out. But I tell you what, can you imagine the response from the European fans if this goes in? Imagine the response from Rory. Oh wow, what a brilliant effort that was. He is up for this. He is up for this. Well, I thought it could have been conceded, but uh they made Maroy part that one. He did make and put a a short one earlier, didn’t he? So, uh might be a bit of sportsmanship in the final uh the final match, I think. Dom Maroy left of the green at 10. What a shot from Rory. He’s played that so good from that lie. Wow. Just chuck the right hand under it. Get a bit of spin. So, so good now. Maroy. A nice angle for Maroy to attack. [Applause] advantage to the Europeans there. Rory Mroy has a birdie putt here. Can’t play they pretty close. Mory puted beautifully this morning. [Music] Yeah, another one that is completely flammox to player. Over to Mroy. That’s at 13 in the par five. He’s a splendid pitcher. He really is. Rarely is he outside of the range you’d expect around the greens. [Applause] And if Rory Mackoy does not hold this spot, this bottom match will be all tied up. Huge puck. They know how that worked out two years ago at Marcus Simone. Wasn’t good for this man on the day. worked out okay overall. Big moment. Well, well, well. That’s a cool blow, isn’t it, for Rory Mroy? And indeed, we are all tied up in the bottom match. Another reminder as to why this ride performer is so interesting. Back to 14 for Mroy. [Applause] [Music] Advantage America. It’s going to go to the wire for that one. [Music] [Applause] There’s a lot going on around 15. 16 greens there. 17T one green not far away. There’s a big road to the right. So Rory just rec redo things. Starts over as you should. Wind off the left and in his face. Little left. [Applause] It is the rough is not challenging and it’s a good angle. Mroy that suggest not much. Nope. That’s the beauty of having a sandwich in your hand. It’s a great shot at 15. Mroy for Birdie. Well, we know this putt from the shuffler putt has a big break from the left. He’s a little bit lower into the green than Scotty was. If you hit it dead weight, and he has to with Shane essentially out of the hole, you’re going to take the high line. Probably play at least a foot, if not a foot and a half a break. Sure. You suck. [Applause] mighty close. [Applause] Mroy kind of a perfect shape for Rory on this hole. He can hit this kind of start at the right tower and just hit a high draw, but he’s kind of got ahead of it. It’s going right. Maroy good line we’re hearing back at 16146. Fly it all the way to that hole. There’s really no other thing to think about except flying this thing right in it. Perfect shots. Roll this is toh tie the hole for Mroy back at 16. And there’s not much putt in this much movement in this but it’s fast down the hill. Got to make it. and dunks. Big big what a match. What a match between these these four players. It’s cool to have a setting this spectacular with all these fans and everything coming down to it and we’ve got really the best players in the world walking through there. Plenty of European support out here. Rory’s got a really nice looking putt because you know it’s going to come from the right. Maybe half a ball outside right. He’s got a free run. They already have three in the books. [Music] Backto back birdies for Rory Mroy. And now the pressure is on Sam Burns. What a putt. Huge moment. He was the man for the job. [Music] [Applause] Quick reaction. Picked up the T. Walked right after it. Dead middle of the fairway. Impressive. [Applause] 96 from Maroy. 105 with the slope. Taking dead aim. [Applause] [Music] He’s going to come back perfectly almost on Shane’s line there. He’s going to get a good read off of it. Boy, two against one right now. That’s You like their odds. Yeah, that certainly was unexpected. Patrick Catlay from what two two and 1/2 ft. Yeah, he missed that run on the previous hole in the part five. kind of had the whole horseshoe whip around the hole. So, this is what I mean this is what a great scenario for Rory. This is kind of what he’s been talking about since he made that proclamation. We’re going to go to Beth Page and we’re going to win. I know it’s only Friday, but this feels like a massive statement. The most talented player in the world. This is the finish with three in a row to win this game left to right. At least a cup outside left. at this time. And the Europeans are going to take a threepoint lead into day two of the RDER Cup here at Beth Page Park. They won the first session, they have won the second session as well. And Captain Bradley certainly has a lot to think about when he makes up his uh his lineup if you like for tomorrow’s forsomes. [Applause] First on the team representing Europe, Rory Maroy. After uh their victory yesterday morning, Rory said that he’d been looking forward to going out alongside Tommy Fleetwood ever since Rome. They are undefeated together. Looks like there good angle in. Oh, goodness gracious. How does that say? What a wonderful shot though. Rory so nice. So difficult. Carried it beautifully. It’s gone right. Didn’t catch any of the flag. That’s right. The other side right [Applause] shots playing long. Not saying everyone’s been short. No one can get it past the flag. M three. Oh, look at that line. Is that Is that any good? Yep. Sit there yesterday as well. Down to four down the right hand side is Mroy. [Music] Strange one, but get a hold of it at all. Tough shot out of that. often wet trying to hit wood right to tie the hole straight. So secure them over the last year or so. USA four. Mroyy’s turn now, but this to try and win the hole. Pretty similar line. Oh, he did it, didn’t he? He did it, didn’t he? That’s just magnificent stuff from Europe again. They’re off and running. Up in three, two up and two, one up in the last match. [Applause] All right, spin control all important here for Mroy. Oh my goodness. 13. I was just thinking the exact same thing. It’s the only thing he gets like a little kind of steep and then he kind of gets under it, right? And kind of leaves it open sometimes. And a in the armor. So there’s toy to make amends for the wedge shot, which he does. An escape required not often said for Mackoy and Fleetwood, but they were up to the task. Mar third shot seven number two in the world to Maroy just one more goal. the ball speedwide. He could have gone in. Another good punt from Maroy. Good point with great speed. [Applause] So conceded. Yeah, both good efforts from long range. This is back at 10. The fates similar for Europe and the USA. I think Rory will fancy this shot. Nice high draw. Suit his eye. Middle of the green. Just let it bleed in. Ah, stay. Ah, you. Apologies for the language. Just overdone it. That was the shot he was trying to hit. He just overdone it. [Music] For par relied on his partner’s lovely chip there. [Applause] It’s just relentless, isn’t it, J? I’m I’m with you. I cannot believe Forsome I I don’t think I can recall Forsome’s golf being so good. You know, Stephen, I’ve done every RDER Cup since 1999. I’ve seen a lot of Forsomes golf at the highest level of players in the world. I’ve never seen like we have this [Applause] just Fairway Green’s birthday. Just amazing the level of play on both sides. Tommy Fleetwood and Rory Mroy are six under through 12 in forsomes. Acorn behind the ball it looks like for Mroy. Quite a few obstacles in his way as well. Acorn something popped up. Heck of a shot just kind of get back on the green. Really well done there. did that a few moments ago. And that’s a tie for Maroy and Fleetwood, which they do. And off they march four up with five to play. Rory to win the match. That’s a bad cup from Europe. Oh my goodness. See that? Slender. What would you say? Um sliver of hope. Maybe. Yes. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] Get the out. [Applause] I think they made a mistake firing Rory Mroy up there and they are unbeatable at Beth Paige. What a partnership this is turning into. Yeah. What a team. Poor team. and Fleetwood, you know, he had the same kind of feeling with Bollywood when he played with Malinari. Look at those two. [Music] [Applause] on the team representing Europe, Rory Maroy, [Applause] [Applause] a beat right there. It was pounded. I got to say, if I were the fans, I’d be quiet to Rory because it seems like the more they chirp at him, the better he’s he’s playing. I don’t see the crowd calming down too much. Rory’s just going to have to hit this. I think 59. Ideally, I think he’d want him to mark it, but there’s actually no point. I think he’s just going to wind the crowd up even more. So, just getting straight in there. Never saw that coming. Thickening up there. Took a huge hop, didn’t it? [Music] [Applause] Came out in there close. Roy would love to quiet this crowd in the first hole. Make give Cam a little pressure. [Applause] Macro with the same. Trying to hit it down the fairway is left as well. That’s not too bad. Now, Maroy [Applause] has missed the green. He’s a good one. back. Excellent shot. Well, let’s go up to three. Shane Larry’s missed the green here. This is Mroy. Stunning here this morning. A little bit right [Music] [Applause] pick it up on the third with Mroy. Important part. The Americans in close remember. Outside chance for Roy. Great effort. [Applause] Mroy. Last to play. Huge drive for Mroy. Probably the best long iron player in the game. [Applause] Just a deadly arm shot there. Right in the middle of the green. Give them a couple of putts at it. Well, we told you that Mroy had a an eagle putt with Larry. Here’s Rory. Yeah, similar sort of line and length to Thomas. We’ve seen that one miss. Had to walk off it. Put a lot of noise. That wasn’t easy. Not getting a good run at the minute. Rory, it looks awful good. It certainly is. Two wonderful shots by the Europeans there. The stand of the golf is unbelievable again in this session. Top match. Mroy at the sixth. Up and over the hill. scent. Full scent. [Applause] Beautiful. Just so elegant. I love watching how he can hold his balance. More at six. Young and close. Front right flag position here. Can he spin out of this rough? [Music] Yeah, just the advantage of hitting the fairway on this sixth hole, I think, with that pin position. What a whole heap in this bag for the might have to go a different route here and not embrace the chaos. See, I’ll go first. There’ll be no one here in a minute where we’re going. Lory’s dad Jerry in the background probably haven’t bite his lip. Maybe it was him. Family feud. Probably not. [Applause] Compose his thoughts. Couple of deep breaths. Refocus. Back into the routine now. David, just stick to your routine. Stick to the process. Army brother. This is left to right. [Music] It’s a decent effort, isn’t it? The pressure there. There’s Shane Lowry with Thomas and Young both in close. [Applause] There’s Jerry. Big boxing gloves on. Must be tough when your son’s out there getting abuse and you’re sitting in the crowd. There is Mr. Green left. So Rory, I still think he’ll go at this flag from 195, but just needs to be careful. Longest drive by some distance. America have two on the green. You suck. [Applause] Well, he hates it. That’s 527 yds taken care of. And he’s in the middle of the green. It’s not all bad. Up to the green. Mroy. An unlikely look at three, but not a lot of breaking. This is quite straight. [Applause] Nice run at it. No stress with the return putt. Just a 3/4 seven. Baking hot out here now. He’s played a lot of golf. More. It’s okay to lean on Larry. What’s he got here? A kind bounce. A wonderful bounce. Penhai. Great shot down the hill. What to do for the United States there. There’s Ry Mroy once more. Both American players urging the crowd to just calm for Mroy. Good luck with that, Anthony. Yeah, they’ve done a good job so far. But once more, not much in this. [Applause] And Rory’s got a P for Birdie here as well. Yeah, just a little bit further away than you would have wanted once more. Justin Thomas directing traffic. He’s a player Marshall out there today. Yeah, he’s doing a good job. There you go. Little sad, but it comes down to a player overall pretty straight. Slightly uphill at the end. might just move right. Good chance. Playing quickly now, Rory. [Applause] Aiming just slightly left. Hopefully just popping this from left to right. Great swing. Yeah, what a response from Mroy. Quietest part of the golf course. A little bit of a break looking straight at this mid 160s. Should be a perfect nine iron. Yeah. Body stopped there, didn’t it? Hands took over. Got a pin high, Rory, but across the green. Nicely stone dead. Mroy, good clean line. 155. Hard shot from the fairway, let alone the bunker. [Music] A sensible shot from there. Couldn’t really do much. Thanks, Shane’s not that far away. You know what he’s like with the chipping. You know, he’s shortsided himself, but he’s he’s pretty close. 40 ft. It’s just a new piece of green on the top lane. It’s just a little bit quicker than the rest. These are the moments where you encourage the crowd if you do miss them. Very much so. Not to be for Rory. Over the 12. This sharp dog leg par four. Long par four. Another long bar four here at Beth Page. All right. Irish. [Applause] [Applause] So hard to hit it straight from that distance, isn’t it? You just feel it’s got to go a little bit. But look, he thought that was going to go a little bit left to right there, Rory. No. Max power coming up for Maroy. Is that going a little left? It is. Yeah. disappointed with that. Dom Maroy also just laying it down this hopefully laying it down the fairway at 13. Okay, into the first cup. That’s not a gimme. So, there’s a chance for Cameron Young. [Applause] This hole continues to be a conundrum for these guys. Rory needs it to just hide the hole and he calmly makes it. You just never know, you know. This is Saturday afternoon. It’s been emotionally draining for everybody. It’s been tough. A few yards long. Let it do its thing. I think a more comfortable yardage for his gap wedge. Sure, Nick. Do it for a minute. There you go. Right at it. Uphill pup. Right edge at most. Better from Maroy. Mroy up the hill for Birdie at 14. Finally, he makes one. So, the pressure on Justin Thomas there. Oh, look at this. Look at this from Mroy. He’s had enough. He’s been holding that in for a while, you suspect. He certainly got it out. Give me back my lost there. Oh, wait. might actually have lost it left somewhere. Towing in the sand wedge meoy second up and the L to 15. Oh wow. Just wait for it. [Applause] Here it comes. Here it comes. Oh, we thought he was in trouble. Yeah, it’s the US boys that are in trouble. Both of those for Birdie Maroy. Oh, twirl on the wall. It’s not a good sign for the US. Great shot. Mroy to tie the hole. No stop from him. So they stay one up. with just 17 and 18 to come. This also looks pretty good. Right over the flank. Good shot. Just too pumped up there. He just smoked it, didn’t he? asking for calm. I don’t think they’re going to get it. Going ahead right to left. Quick one outside the hole. Just pop it down there. Give it a chance. You might just win a ticket. It’s going to come down to Var. Back to the 18th T. And this time, Mroy. O big high draw. Vintage Mroy. He just let that thing rip. That is perfect. Just left side of the fairway. Been sensational today, Rory, under most extreme conditions I’ve ever seen. High8s looking past the flag. Oh yes, he’s going to rip down nicely. Come on. One last thing in return likely. Well, he looks exhausted. Truly exceptional performance. They’re giving the people what they want here, aren’t they? The world number one versus Rory Maroy, the world number two, who couldn’t have had more different weeks. to this stage. Mroy going 30 and one. He is undefeated with three and a half points on the board. M uh Scotty Sheffler yet to take one in his first four matches. [Applause] That was full send as well. High draw staring at it. Such a good drive. Not to mention that little rise short of it. Not entirely straightforward. [Applause] [Music] At times this week, it’s felt like it’s been Rory versus New York. I always knew it was going to be a rowdy Ryder Cup. Sometimes it’s treaded that line. Oh, that’s well done. Nice and tidy. Birdie putt ahead of Rory Maroy here. First to go. Straight up the hill. Dead straight. [Applause] Pushed it here. Three-wood for Mroy. It’s a little left. This needs a bit of luck. Do it for Amanda. That’s absolutely fine. Pin back right. He’ll be aggressive here. This is a simple shot up the hill. [Music] That’s okay. Mroy has two parts to win the hole from here. A gift. A gift. And a nail in the coffin there. Another another European lead. [Applause] Back to Rory. 200 on the button today at the par three. Vintage Rory. Really one of the best mid and long iron players I’ve ever seen. His ability to get so high. Ship a little right, a little left. Let’s go back to Maroy. Maroy here putting for birdie first. Pretty equidistant to Scotty. It’s left to right all the way here for Rory. This green has been quick this morning. We’ve seen the ball just run and run and run. Great touch. [Applause] Maroy up the hill 197. It’s about 200 cuz it’s down breeze a bit but it is uphill. It’s only just over 180 the front six for Rory to hit a high draw. It’s exactly what he said. It’s the stop. needs to stop. That’s an error. Not easy from down there. Tough shot coming up for Rory Maroy here. Pitch on the back of him. He just pulled that six a little bit and down it went to this gathering area, but he’s on a slight downs slope. I mean, the good news is you can prefer your lie. So, he’s getting himself a nice lie. I think he’s going to try and pitch it up on top and spin it. Or is he going to run it? Got the face open. I think he’s going to go up top just a little bit in a low spinner. Really tough shot there. I don’t think he liked really any option. B Ferrari here. This is for the half. from Birdie at the fifth. Nope. That’s close to all square. So perhaps a little to cheer for up there for the Sheffler fans. Rory middle of the fairway. 143 up the hill playing 151. Big wedge. Oh, he’s walking after it. And that is a very dangerous stride when it’s in full force. Should have a little right to left of this one. Scotty with about 4 and 1/2 ft to left for his par if he needs to putt it, which we’ll see. Yeah. disappointed with that Rory. You can see bang on line just a little bit shy. 81 with a lob wedge for Rory of the ups slopes. So the elevations right in there just pushed it a bit. Didn’t like it. Yeah, just a bad angle. Couldn’t really play out the hole. Had to kind of bias towards the middle of the green. Reasonable shot from there. Now Rory, this just this green’s been difficult to read all all week for all the players, but this if anything is a touch off the right for Rory. So Rose eyeing up his par three eighth top left. Rory on the way at six bottom right. Yeah, Rory just like lacked the pace. Had pretty good line. A little firmer. Chef has found the green from a deep lie. This isn’t easy because he’s got that Pampers grass behind him from 231 Maroy. He’s got to go inside the ball here. Trying to hit a fly hook pin on the left hand side. Not easy. Miles right. [Applause] [Music] So tough to curve the ball a lot with modern equipment out of the rough here at the seventh. Jamie, what’s ahead? Well, the macro is it way right. He’s on the hard pan. It’s sandy. It’s loose. It’s uh very very difficult. Gray shot in by Scotty Sheffler to the middle of the green from a really thick line. Playing it full length today. 527 this parall. It’s a monster. So he’s down there in the crowd. Rory has got a scrubby lie. But the good thing is he’s got plenty of green to work with. So he can take a straighter face club which is going to help. You don’t want any bounce on this. You got to get the ball first. Very difficult. But it’s chance. He’s just getting the strike. Guys, you have to hold that rope. It’s fine. It’s fine. I mean, like, let it go. Like a frozen. I got him to take the rope down. They lifted it up. I can’t do everything. Yeah. The thing there is it just kind of catches his eye when you want to be focused on the ball. You don’t need a distraction. That’s all that’s about. It’s not in the way. Yeah. In case someone moves, it can put you off. just catch you peripheral vision. [Music] [Applause] Shot you just have to pinch. Luckily, he had a lot of green to work with. Maroy plays a brilliant shot. Looks like a sure par four at seven. We’ll go to Rory Maroy to tie the hole with a par here and a great up and down from where he was. That’ll feel like a win almost Jay for where Rory was there percent and that’s thing about match play a bit of a gut punch Maroy [Applause] just drawing off the pin slightly but equidistant both sides of the hole I think Scotty’s probably got the easiest easier putt up the hill we You know how quick that one is from behind the hole. Maroy for birdie. I’ve seen this puck go slightly left at the end. It’s caught a few people out as well. Of course, you know we have the and that’s further than it looks right there. The camera angle forcehortens that puts a mark on it is to tie for Maroy. Par putt to have the eighth. Mroy has looked good since Friday morning with the putter. As good as I’ve seen him all year to be honest with you. I mean, he’s hauled out really well. As I said, the last couple of drivers he’s have gone left, especially the one at seven. Big draw required round the corner. [Music] So just a yard or two into the rough there. Rory Maroy now. Sticky lie for him from 127, but the angle’s good. Not sure he can spin it out of here. It’s sitting right in the grass. Just a gap wedge. Just a little gap wedge. Trying to pitch it seven or eight short. Just let it release. You feel Chef is in the ascendancy here. He’s had some chances the last three holes. He’s got another one there. What can Rory do? [Applause] Soft greens are going to help. Good angle. Oh, just wouldn’t release out of that lie. Had to play for a release even though he knows the greens are soft. Very loud around the ninth. It’s probably the loudest out here on the golf course once you get out here into the country. Maroy for birdie. I think he needs this a little bit off the right. He went with a good foot or so a break and it did not come back. Had a fight on his hands. Maroy, this one might be a little longer than it looks there, but this is close to gimme range here. Halves would have been the word that could be used. Good. Good. Yeah, I agree. So, an interesting little exchange there. Match remains tied headed to 10. Maroy has backed off a couple of times and there’s another. Yeah, this is this is so so unfortunate. It’s such a great event. Just don’t be part of it. Just sit there and watch it. Be a spectator. Terrible shot by Michael Williams. You know, I just first of all, some of the behavior I saw yesterday, I was actually embarrassed as an American for what was going on. Well, he needs to keep his cool because that’s the worst shot you will ever see from Roy Moy and it’s really the first time that that’s happened. This is where it ended up for Rory Maroy. I can’t believe he’s having a go at this 248. He’s got he’s got his lofted wood out in the bunker. The lies okay, but he’s going to have to hit a big car because he’s got a bank in front of him. People still walking across 248. Chef has only got 207. So, he’s a long way behind. He’s just struggling a bit off the tea. Rory may be a little bit of fatigue. He’s got some guards with him, Rory. So, he’s aiming left here with a fairway wood. He’s got to cut it. It’s about 225 the front. pulled it straight left. That’s on the 11th. Well, good news is he’s got plenty of green to work with. He’s going to be on an ups slope out of the long fescue and a bit of security for him as well. Mroy, not a great lie for Rory. Similar to the seventh grass, come down, baby. If the first eye wasn’t good, the second might be truly awful. [Applause] Back to Maroy now. Well, he’s been hanging on to be honest the last hour or so. Mroy, you know, he needs to do it here. Can he get up and down? It’s a horrible lie. Hardly any green to work with. And if he makes five, Sheffield’s not exactly got his patting boots on today. So he’s got a chance. Needs this shot. Might need to look at a scoreboard and give himself a fright. Might just wake him up. Rory puts to have the hole. What a Oh, I couldn’t see that coming up short. That would have been stealing one if he could have had that hole. [Applause] 114 for Maroy. This green spun all week, but there’s nothing behind this pin. Could be long left this. Thankfully, not long. It’s the toughest thing when you have spinny greens with a short iron or wedge and a hole cut in the back of the green where you don’t have any space to work with. Will be a chance to win the hole though for Mroy here, Jamie. Yeah, but it’s pretty quick on top here. The new part of the green uh left to right for Rory, but with some work to do, he just wants to dribble it, try and drop it in. It’s pretty quick on top. [Applause] It’s tracking. It’s tracking dead center. Big moment for Rory. Maybe there’s just enough left in the tank. [Applause] Well, well, well. Rory 510 this 12th. How much is he going to cut off? Much better motion there. Stuck the finish. That was always down the middle. [Music] 12. Mroy. Could be a big moment here in this game. It’s been so tight all the way around. I wouldn’t say it’s the best of golf. They’re just starting to warm to the task though. Two good shots in to the 12th here. Rory, well, what’s he got? 16 17 feet here up the hill. He he can’t do much. I fancy a little right to left, but hardly anything at all really. for back-to- back birdies. [Applause] The lack of break on these greens is caused quite a few problems to the players this week. We’ve seen plenty in, but not on that occasion [Applause] to 13 and Mroy 299, but it’s 275 the front. I think he can do that. Should be able to take out the bunker 20 yards short. That should not be in play especially with preferred lies on the fairway. So Maroy 3wood and rip it. [Applause] Boy, it’s a big hit. Ripped it too hard there. Jeez. Did he strike it? Nearly. Oh, not quite. It’s a good shot. Need much more. Mroy at the 14th. 15414. And the pin is way on the right hand side in the shadows. Hard to pick out. Rory with a wedge. And it’s a big one. Got it. Hated it, but it’s not as disastrous as it may have been. Rory back at 14 or ahead at 14 I should say. Sticky line for Rory but he plays these so well now. Koy. Oh, not that time. He looks a shadow of his normal self, doesn’t he? Rory Mroy seemed to be struggling out there yesterday afternoon, didn’t he? Had to lean on Shane Lowry quite heavily. This a big part Sam Torrance for Rory Mroy. Yeah, he needs it. No. Now the effort goes one up on Maroy. More to play. [Applause] Meanwhile, Rory at 15. Not easy. [Applause] Straight at it. There’s the distance. Seth. Oh, that’s exactly where Fitzpatrick was. right over the top of the flag. Great shot, but not quite as good as the oppon. This is Rory Mroy. We know how swift this one is down the slope at 15. This for birdie. Well, well, well. There you go. [Applause] Not much has happened for Rory out there so far today. Down to 16. This is Mroy. This is to win the hole. Quite a long putt back up the hill. Oh, he had the line. Had the line. Just left it. Foot short. That part not conceded. So, Mroy, one down, two to play. [Applause] [Music] Now, Maroy, a time for him as well. And this cauldron down here on 17. Oh, wow. Good looking swing. Really good shot. [Music] Rory Mroy with a chance at 17 to win the hole and square his match up with Scotty Sheffller just up the hill a little bit off the left for Rory Shorts. You’ve seen it’s been difficult to get it up that slope today. He’s got the pass. Sheer still with work to do there. Rory must find fairway after that T- shot from Sheffller. I have to say Sheffler’s had the ascendancy in this match for the last hour and a half. [Applause] Heading right. Long way right. Well, I think the sand is better than the rough. So, he’s got a chance from there. We get a good look at the ball lining. Well, my my my [Applause] once again Mroy having to back off a shot. He’s got a good lie here. Rory, bit of grass in front of him which he’s going to have to negotiate. 131 up the hill. Playing about 145 this left hand pin. The lie is good. He should be able to get the strike. Looks like he’s taking a line to the right trying to play a hook around that long grass. [Applause] That’s really the result of missing the fairway and hitting in that fairway bumper. This pin is all the way back today. He’s 21 deep. He’s got 60 ft here up and over the slope. He’s got to have it. Scotty’s already 20 ft on the 20 ft on the green putt for birdie. [Applause] Good effort. Good putt, but and that is another point to team USA as Sheffller beats Mroy and collects his first point of the 2025 RDER Cup. The gap closes again. 9 12 USA, 13 1/2 to Europe. America up in three of the remaining five matches. To watch another Ryder Cup video, click here and subscribe here.
