It’s a common misconception that everyone wants the golf club to sit flat to the ground at address

The ideal position for most people is to have the toe in the air slightly

This compensates for a slightly flatter (toe down) position through impact that most people see but also means that the club is more likely to be in an easy position to swing with the set up that creates the driver being in this position

It also makes it easier to swing around yourself and to hit a draw or straighter shot when the club is set toe up
