[Music] When you spend your life testing golf products, it takes something really special to stand out. Well, Moatti have two electric trolleys that genuinely made me take notice. And I won’t spoil it yet, but let’s just say it features the best creation I’ve seen in golf for years. Let’s take a closer look. So, let’s be honest, we don’t pay a great deal of attention to the trolley we buy. At least I don’t anyway. You buy one, it generally lasts you, I don’t know, 5 10 years. And for me, that cycle has come to an end and I’m on the market and have been looking for something to fit the bill. I did a fair bit of research and I came up with two trolley going to feature in today’s video. And they’re opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of price point and also in terms of feature and technology. And I want to share with you what I found and why I’m struggling to make a decision between the two. There are some interesting features in both this bag and the trolleys that come with them that are key to my decision-making process and I thought I’d share them with you. Right. So, the first trolley we’re going to feature is the Moatti S1. It’s their entry- level model and it comes in I’ve seen it for 529 and as much as sort of low 600, so make sure you have a bit of a shop around. It’s a very simple and straightforward piece of kit done incredibly well. First of all, it looks well. It’s well built. It’s what we’d expect from Mo Caddy. It gets your your bag from A to B in a very simple and straightforward way. It just does it very well indeed. There is a simple LED screen on the handlebar which will give you indication of battery life and also how fast you are going as well. Uh there is something I’ll talk about later on the video about inverting the wheels which it’s a fairly small footprint anyway which is really key to me to put in and out of the uh boot or in your garage. A key feature for me also is the way in which you put the trolley up and when you fold it back down at the end. I don’t know about you, but I’ve struggled for years with different types of trolleys that uh well, you need a degree just to work out how to get them back into your boot at the end of a round. With this thing, it’s a very simple flick of that red switch and uh in one movement you can put the trolley up and vice versa put that trolley back down again. So, I love the fact that they’ve made that a very simplistic method indeed. The other element is the bag itself because for me what I’ve learned if I’m buying a motor caddy trolley then I certainly want to couple it with the bag and there’s a key reason for that because they’ve introduced a feature which eradicates a huge problem that I’ve had for many years with any type of trolley and you have to have the bag coupled with a trolley and that problem is gone and to be honest with you it’s a huge feature that I absolutely love but we’ll get to that later. The next model we’re going to have a look at is significantly different in price but also in terms of its features. Right. So the next model is very much at the top of the tree. It’s the G7 GPS and it comes with this thing GPS remote control. Here we can control the uh the trolley. With this seen it before dead straightforward. We have got the option as well of using it in a manual way just as you would any other trolley. The GPS bit is also hugely important. There’s a really impressive screen I’m looking at right now which gives you the data that any other GPS device will give along with a lot of other notifications if you so wish. So you can uh link this to your phone, you can get all your text messages, all your emails come through. Not something I want to see during the middle of a round, but it’s accessible all the same. Other interesting thing for me is uh a really important message I think and really clever what they’ve done. you can find where the nearest defibrillator is if ever there is a case in needing one. And let’s hope that never is an issue. But I think it’s a real clever addition what they’ve added into this uh GPS device. Then in terms of the model itself, the framework is a lot more robust. The front wheel is on a full full 360 swivel, so it’s a lot more it’s a lot easier and a lot more nimble to maneuver by hand, but also it allows it to be a lot more nimble when you’re maneuvering with this thing as well. There’s a rear wheel that comes out to give some extra stabilization. So, when you’re using again remotely and it hits a bit of a bump and flips up, you’ve got that rear wheel that will support it and stop it from flipping. But the next thing I want to talk about is not necessarily the trolley, but the bag and how it connects and really gets rid of a bug bear that I’ve had for so many years with so many trolleys. Two other points to mention about the GPS device as well, which I think are important. You’re able to record your score, fairway sit, green sitting regulation. I love the fact that you can retain that kind of information and link it to your app as well and view that post round. And the other thing is that it’s touchscreen as well. So if you want to find a certain yardage or a maybe short of a uh a hazard, which again are highlighted, then it is the most sort of indepth GPS device you could get compared with anything else you might buy individually on the market right now. So, it’s a real top piece of kit that is bu built into this. Next thing I want to talk about is a feature on both of the trolleys, but more importantly, it’s a feature on the bag. How many of you have ever put any kind of bag onto any kind of trolley and all it ever does is swivel around and you’re constantly fixing it? You’re moving it around throughout the whole game. I’ll be honest with you, it drives me mad. We’ve seen what is or you’re about to see what is a very simple system that Moatti have introduced into the bottom of their bags. When you buy uh the bag and also the trolley, you’ll get a couple of little fixings that screw into the bottom of this. It’s an easy lock system. Screw into the bottom of this being the bag that is. And when you mount it on the trolley, the two little sort of nuts, extended nuts sit very tightly within the fixings on the trolley, which means it goes absolutely nowhere. I have fastened the sort of the top strap on as well, but even without that attached, just having those two little extra bits securing the bottom of the bag means it goes absolutely nowhere. It’s the best creation in golf I’ve seen for absolutely years. Well done, Motor Caddy. So, I suppose in summary, when you’re looking to buy a new trolley and maybe comparing these two, they are at the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of price point. First of all, you got to decide what you want your trolley to do. And if it’s get from A to B in uh in a very easy and straightforward way, no bells, no whistles, then that S1 is a real good product for me. One thing that I haven’t mentioned throughout is the ability to invert the wheels on all of the trolleys of motor caddies, which makes it narrow down the sort of the footprint and easier to get in and out of boots and small spaces, store under the stairs in your garage and whatnot. That’s an identical feature. And like I said, that S1 is uh just a really well-built trolley. Moatt’s been around a long, long time now, so we can have plenty of faith that if that’s what we want it to do, that’s what it will do. If you then have got a bit more money in your pocket and you want to splash out a bit and you fancy a few extra gadgets, then this GPS device is a nice little toy to have. The system itself, the screen is like I said before is it’s it’s up there with the very best GPS devices that you can spend three400 pound on to have in your pocket. And this way you’ve got it on the screen in front of you as you play the round of golf. It’s also a very much more robust um and perhaps more stable it suggests because it’s remote control and there’s a few that extra wheel in there than you don’t get on the S1. And I do love that sort of 360 front wheel as well. Makes sort of maneuverability manually very easy indeed. But there’s also a negative with it as well in that this model is considerably heavier than that of the S1. So getting it in and out of those small spaces in and out of the car. I would certainly pick one up before you make that decision because the bigger motor that’s in this thing clearly impacts on the overall weight as well. For me, if I’m buying a Mo Caddy trolley, I have to have a Mo Caddy bag nowadays because of that attachment they’ve added. Now, it could well be that all other brands have gone in that way in the last few years. It’s just not something I’m familiar with, but it has certainly solved a problem that I absolutely hate with trolley. And uh the bag itself is a really good addition. Never seen a Mo Caddy bag before in the flesh. It’s got so many different pockets. this model that I’ve got. I love the cool bag it fits in. Christ, you can fit in your roast dinner in there. It’s huge. And I can tell you from the bottles of water I’ve got in there now, it really works. Every pocket has got a huge amount of space. It’s just a quality piece of kit. To be honest with you, I won’t waffle on too much because at the end of the day, these are trolleys and there’s nothing too much exciting going on that I can relay other than the information I’ve given you in today’s video. But I have got to say I was super impressed with both products. And whichever way you go, which I think is largely going to be down to budget, I don’t think you’re going to be disappointed. They’ve done a super job. And uh for me, if I’m honest with you, I’m not sure which way I’d go yet. I’ll still uh well, I’m going to trial both of them and see which one I find sort of suits my needs more. But I think one of these will end up gracing the fairways uh in the weeks ahead on the channel. So keep your eyes peeled and see if I’m true to me word and which one I went with. Anyway, as ever, thank you for watching. something a little bit different. Uh, thanks to Mo Motor sending these through out for me to have a little look and a trial at. And, uh, like I said, we’ll see where we go in the future weeks. Thanks for watching. I’ll see you all soon. Can you believe this weather at Hollywood? Sun’s out and no wind. We’re all shocked.

  1. Andy has Motocaddy fixed that horrible button control YET ? Motocaddy do assemble the units well, compared to Powercaddy.. ( on the under side decent glans seal electrics)
I own a previous model M5 GPS found the GPS control too annoying and the app, disappointing.
I pick up a Powercaddy FW 1 old, cultches on the wheel gone ( £20 fix), no battery. Rigged up 3 * 14V Lithium robotic vacuum batteries of ali-express, ( 20 hole battery weight 2Kg) even fit the FW1 folded. I use a GPS course app costs £25/yr ( Golf Pad) which takes in my handicap as wheel and works your points as the course slope and handicap). 4 Kg lighter than the M5 Gps

  2. Don’t know about the trolly but the bags are not as good as they used to be had my last one 5 years got the new one (dry series ) and it’s worn through the material down to the substructure in less than 2 at the top of the bag

  3. And, does the GPS model have the 'follow me' function, and can you remove the battery from either model for easier lifting, storage and charging?

  4. Power trolleys fantastic – but beware the remote control versions as I see most of my buddies who use them concentrating on driving those than concentrating on their golf AND best I have seen my brother had his remote in his pocket and had a pocket call – looked around and trolley in the pond – beware – but trolleys are a must especially those models 👍

  5. If I could still walk the course I would still be a Motocaddy customer. I used the base product for 15 years and gave it away for a friend to use for another few years after my knees gave out. Solid products.

  6. My trolley just died, with luck it is only the battery (probably not, it was working fine one week and next week not at all), but if not then this has been a timely video

  7. At 58, I have accepted carrying my bag is compromising my ability to play 18 holes. I feel a motorised buggy is just taking too much exercise out of the game. With my acceptance of no longer carrying my bag came the realisation that you should do what you can while it is still a choice.

  8. Yep, it's definitely a piece of kit I'd look at but hopefully in15 years. My Clicgear 4.0 is just fantastic. And well built, fingers crossed. All the best Andy.

  9. I'll get one when they add a pad I can stand on once tired and that is a few years away still because those wheels and torque will not get the job done currently. They basically need an off trail scooter and marry it to a bag caddy.

  10. I want a new electric trolley, my motorcaddy still works fine but want it to fold up smaller for storage.

How is the trolley with a different bag on with no fixing at the bottom?

  11. 72. Broke down and bought a $40 two-wheeler from Temu last summer. It made 18 holes a breeze and is light as a feather to toss into the van. I know my course well, so I know the yardages.
Haven't written down a score in years. (I remember the good rounds well and forget the stinkers.)
