This week was a sad week for those of us who are not ready to say goodbye to the 2025 Hudosn Valley golf season. Where did the time go? More importantly, when did it get so darn cold?

In past years, my husband and I have been out golfing as late as Thanksgiving. Now, granted it’s really late this year, but still, when the cold weather set in this week, it became apparent our golfing days are numbered.

Snow of the West Point Golf Course

West Point Golf CourseGolf Season in the Hudson Valley Is Coming to a Close

Later afternoon golf is already over with the darkness setting in by 4:30 PM these days, but worse than that, we have also already had golf called on account of snow. No joke, the West Point golf course on Tuesday posted they closed for the day due to snow on the course.

After seeing the snow on the course on Tuesday in Orange County, I did a quick scan of courses I follow on social media and didn’t notice that any of them have officially closed for the season, but it won’t be long.

Perfect Time to Make Your 2026 Golf Plan

Many course are offering their 2026 packages in time for the holidays. Rounds of golf make amazing stocking stuffers. And if you ever hope to get a season membership to a course, this is the time to start thinking about buying the upcoming season.

If you are still looking for a golf experience after the snow starts to fly, consider one of the HUdosn Valley’s indoor golf spots, such as DC Golf in Poughkeepsie and Hudson Valley Golf and Pickleball.
