HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Ala Wai Golf Course Driving Range is set to reopen Saturday after about ten months.

“We’re excited to reopen the Ala Wai driving range and are looking forward to welcoming back all the golfers,” said Ed Kageyama, owner and founder of Hawaii Golf Advisors.

Planned renovations caused the driving range to close temporarily on Jan. 31.

City officials initially planned to reopen the driving range in the spring, but it was delayed.

Officials said the closure was necessary to enhance safety and accessibility.

The Ala Wai Golf Course remained open and was not impacted by the construction.

Before the closure, city officials said crews would work on vehicular and pedestrian access bridges and revitalize the driving range grounds.

Officials said the city’s Golf Division also assessed the facility and reviewed plans during this time.

New changes include new turf on the driving range, repairs to the irrigation system, new hitting mats, stall dividers, and range balls.

The driving range will be open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., with the following pricing:

Small bucket (35 balls) $10Large bucket (70 balls) $15Rental clubs for $45
