HONOLULU – University of Hawai’i men’s golf head coach Scott Simpson announced the signing of Troy Gadalla of Vancouver, British Columbia for the 2026-27 season.

Gadalla, a two-time Noah Begay III National Championship qualifier, helped lead his high school team capture the provincial championship twice, including last season in which he served as team captain. On the junior golf circuit, he captured the World Stars Championship in Las Vegas, Nev., in 2024 and was runner-up this past summer. In addition, Gadalla has a pair of Top 10 finishes at the British Columbia Junior Championship in 20025 and at the B.C. U17 Championship last year.

“We are thrilled that Troy will be joining our golf team next year,” Simpson said. “He’s already an excellent player and competitor. He has played very well in junior and amateur tournaments and I have no doubt he’s ready to take it to the next level. He has a great swing with the length and touch that you need to excel in college.

“Besides his talent, what impressed me about Troy is his even temperament, his work ethic and desire to keep improving. He’s a great student and takes school seriously which is important on our team. I think he will be a great addition as we work to keep improving in every way.”

Gadalla is the first signee for the 2026-27 season.
