And England are back in action against Serbia live on talk sport. Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham had been recalled to the squad. But can they play in the same team as Harry Kane? Did I read somewhere yesterday? Thomas Tuk was saying no more experiments. Now we I’ve got my squad now. We play um as we’re going to, you know, get on with the World Cup. There’s no more experiments. That’s it. That’s the squad. I thought careful, careful. There’s a long way to go. Yeah. I think he knows exactly what he wants to play, doesn’t he, Alan? he knows he wants is maybe Declan Rice and um Elliot Anderson, two center midfielders. Rogers as that ten at the moment. Rashford off the left, Zacker off the right, and um Harry Kane down the middle. Defense left back’s an issue, isn’t it, with um Luis Skellyy not being in getting enough game time, not being called up. Nico O’Reilly will probably come in or Jed Spence and the left back’s position. But I think going forward, he knows who he wants to play. But people are going on about Al Foden, Kane, Bellingham can’t play in the same team together. Do you look I don’t like that. No, but Al, when when you look at World Cups and Euros and you look at some of the top teams, you look at the bench and the talent that they’ve got on the bench, you look at some of the Brazil teams, the Argentina teams, the Spain, the France, they’ve got top players on the bench, and so will we. If Bellingham doesn’t start the first game, maybe he’s on after 60, changes the game and starts the second game, we we’re all getting too carried away of like, oh, we can’t get Fen in the team or P in the team. Maybe they’ll be on the bench and then they’ll come on and they’ll play further down in the tournament. Well, here’s what the three lines boss Thomas Tukul told Sport yesterday. Have a listen. At the moment, if we keep the structure, they can not play. They can but not in the structure and not not for the balance that we that we developed and not for the for the yeah for for the structure that that comes also with wingers who are like like specialists on their in their positions. We play at the moment with a six eight a 10 and and a nine. Um there’s a lot of concurrence especially in the number 10 position. If you think about Phil who could play there, if you think about Jude, you think about Morgan Rogers who played fantastic for us in in this position, you have a Cole Palmer, you have Morgan Gibbs White. So there’s a lot a lot of players and there is the chance that we will not take everyone. Um simply to not not because we don’t like it, not because they don’t individually deserve it, but we will always do what’s best for the team. We will always do what’s best for winning. We will always do what’s best for a balance and uh and we will we will try to keep the clarity even if it if it means that we have to take uh tough decisions. We take tough decisions in any camp and this will not change when we go to a tournament. Uh it’s an interesting one. So what is he really saying look into this here? Yes. Is he saying that uh Harry’s not a certainty to start? No no no no. What what he means out is Harry Kane will start he will play Gordon or Rashford off that left hand side. His sack is guaranteed of that right hand side. Mad wake will probably be in the squad as backup. What he’s saying is he’s going to play natural wingers. He’s going to play striker. He’s going to play two center midfielders which could be Declan Rice and Anderson. And then there’s one space in that team for a number 10. So it’s Foden, Rogers, Bellingham, Gibbs White, even an EZ who can play in there. So why would he mention Kane then? He said Kane, Bellingham, Foden can’t play in the same side. So basically saying Kane, Bellingham and Foden only Foden. What he means really, he shouldn’t have mentioned Kane. What he means is talking about Yeah. What he means is Bingham and Foden can’t play the same side because both of them would play as a 10 and it’s only we’re going back to the eras, right? We’re going back to the era of um excuse me of Lampard Gerard Scholes. Yeah. And before that Robson Hodos, Ray Wilin. Yes. But but Al just why why can’t they play? No, but why would you when you’ve got Saka who’s a natural winger, you’ve got Rashford or Gordon on your opposite side. I understand what he’s saying. He’s basically saying whoever between now and the end of season has the best. Yeah. On that left hand side, Saka. Yeah. On the left hand side, I’m still not sure who should play that. Yeah, but if you if you’ve got Rashford in form, if you’ve got is he in form? He’s he’s doing quite well. He’s doing quite well at Barcelona. Well, but I don’t think just recently, I don’t think. Yeah, last couple of games, but he has done well for Barcelona. Gordon’s got to keep um performing. Ez can play off that left hand side, but if you’re talking about fitting players in, he’s not going to say, “Okay, Palmer or Bellingham, I want to get you in. You go on the left.” He’s not going to do that. is going to play a natural winger on both sides. And there’s only space, one space for Palmer, for Bellingham, for Rogers, for Foden, for Gibbs White. Whoever between now and the end of the season probably has the best last 30 games of the season plays. But if you look at recent England squads and what who will play tonight, probably Morgan Rogers, you would say it’s Morgan Rogers position to lose at the moment. See, I think it’s I I think I don’t think Tuko should be involved in this at this stage. Yeah. Talking about, you know, who’s in, who’s out, who who can’t play together. I don’t see the point of that. So, how how would you squeeze Foden Bellingham together? I’d play the guys who are on form at the moment. But where would you play Foden and Bellingham? Would you play Bellingham off the left, Foden down the middle? Foden’s got to play surely. Do you not think so? There’s no Palmer. So, Fodden’s got to play. But if Rogers who’s been outstanding, Rogers for me at the manager loves him. It doesn’t come in here for me at the moment. Really? No. No. Listen, he’s a top player, but at the moment, Bellingham and Foden are above them for me in my head. Yeah. Yeah. It’s difficult. I just think if And on the left is Gordon playing out. Gordon’s not, but Rash Rashford is doing well. Rashford at the moment. Listen, I I’ve bummed them up. Big style Rashford. He’s done. Who do you play after left him? I don’t know. Yeah, I don’t know yet. I wouldn’t I wouldn’t I wouldn’t go into it. I just I’ I’d see how the next couple of games go. Yeah. The only problem I’ve got with it all, Al, is we haven’t been tested. That’s the England’s biggest problem is not fitting in players. It’s how good is this side against the proper team. But also on the back pages, back page of the mail again, battle for number 10. Two cool wars, Bellingham and Foden. Only one can play. We’ve spoken about that. He said, you know, not for the balance that we’ve developed or for the structure. and he will not play players out of position and I think that’s very I I knew when Thomas Tougall came in that was exactly what he was going to do because I think that’s maybe one difference between Southgate and Tul is that Tul will not did you see in the Euros Southgate was playing Foden on the left and he wasn’t working he was doing game after game like saying to Alan just I think he’s basically saying there’s one space for Rogers Bellingham Foden Palmer Gibbs white yeah agreed number 10 one of your but that’s but that’s that’s how it should I like that yeah I like But I do not think he he’s clever enough to don’t state that. Just say, “No, I’ve got a piece of talent here. We’ve got a few more games. We got a lot of months before the World Cup. You know, in my mind, I’ve got a few different combinations.” You can you can back that off, can’t you? You’ve got you’ve got players waking up this morning going into train say, “Co, you don’t fancy me.” No, but it’s not that he doesn’t fancy you. He’s just saying that, you know, I want to play players in their best position. And it’s the same for Cole Palmer. You know, I think Drew Bellingham can play in the eight in some of the other games. So, I think there may be two spots available, but like we say, in the big games against the France, the biggest teams in the competition, you want to play a 10 in a 10 and maybe two an eight, another eight out. I think as well, it’s going to come to the when the squad’s named and EZ, Palmer, Folding, not all three of them are going to go. I really don’t think so. There’s not space for all three of them. Well, I think I think he’s opened the can of worms, man. There’s no point. He He didn’t need to do this. I like how emotional Alan gets about it. You know, he loves England. I mean, I love TCL, so whatever TCL says goes.

  1. Can’t fit them all in. You can play one of Bellingham, Foden or Palmer at no 10 and the other two sit on the bench.
You could possibly play Bellingham as an 8, but then are we dropping rice to the bench or to no6? If Rice move to no6 when Anderson/Wharton sit on the bench.
The main question is what offers the us the best chances going forward?
In the Euro final vs Spain we are completely outclassed vs Spain in the middle of the field and we struggle to maintain possession and get forward with the Ball. The final 30minutes of that game was pure agony, trapped in our own half waiting for Spain to score.

Tuchel wants two wingers that will run ahead of Kane as an outlet, which is something we didn’t have in the last tournament with Foden playing LW! He just does not fit that profile.
If we are going to compare Bellingham, Palmer & Foden at no 10, then realistically who is proven with Kanes profile as a striker? The answer is Jude. He will run ahead of Kane which is something Foden will not do. Foden plays with Haaland, a younger powerful striker who has the legs Kane doesn’t.
Foden, while technically very gifted, is much slighter than the likes of Bellingham, and he will get bullied off the ball much easier. I think Foden plays too reserved for England and doesn’t take the same risks he does for City in the league over several games. He’s just not taking on his opponents.
Palmer is magic, and I think he has the best first touch of any player in the England squad. He will touch past his man and find space to shoot where as Bellingham likes to hold up the ball more.
Palmer is much bigger goal threat from outside the box than Jude is.
IMO the running for no10 assuming everyone’s fit & in form would be Bellingham > Palmer > Foden.

  2. Foden will be a squad player unless he does something maradonna kebab like till the end of season 😮

  3. Fodden plays 2 half decent games for City now he has to be in the England team…
Have you lot forgotten how bad he is in an England shirt, don't talk about out of position etc, if you are a football player you play from wherever you are picked, he doesn't, never has never will, shouldn't even be in the squad nevermind team. Where he been the last 18 months??? Not top level AT ALL

  4. Why is this so difficult for seasoned ex-professional footballer to understand – the performance of the team comes first? A brilliant team is far greater than the sum of its parts.

  5. Thomas tuchel is a clown 🤡, talks too much , bang average coach , England will be home before you know it , and cole palmer should start in the number 10….👌

  6. I see why England can never win. They will play a 10 in their position but is a 6 on wing when their is an 8 on the wing who is not a star.

  7. Anyone who disagrees with Tuchel needs to re-watch the Euros OR that Greece match when Carsley started ALL 3 of Palmer, Jude AND Foden😢😭😭

  8. Think everyone forgets we couldn't beat, Denmark, Slovenia, Slovakia or Switzerland in 90 minutes at the Euros.

For God's sake, let Tuchel try something new.

  9. Of course they can play together anyone taking any notice would have seen Foden playing deeper more of an 8 than a 10 they can play together if the manager is brave enough, like Pep is, and just play 1 deeper 6 instead of both Rice and Henderson.

  10. England fans have crying out for a manager to have the balls to play a balanced team rather than just playing all the most talented players in the same but Alan Brazil is crying that Tuchel is doing the former lol

  11. Alan in a nutshell; shouldn’t be saying that, don’t get into it. They both have to play then gets asked who plays on the left and he doesn’t know. Literally hasn’t a clue. In future make sure he doesn’t get asked any questions cause he won’t have a clue on that either

  12. The Sun, Moon and the Stars all move around The Lord Of The Universe, "Harry Kane". You English got exactly what you wanted.

  13. Brazil needs to retire. Hes such a dinosaur. So it's ok for Southgate to play players out of position. When tuchel plays them in position its a problem.. this is why England have never won anything

  14. Foden is not good enough when it comes to England especially from the starting 11 he might be better off coming off the bench for last half hour.

  15. Kane, Foden, and Bellingham played together at the Euros and the team looked unbalanced. Southgate played Foden on the left wing. Sven played Scholes on the left wing and none of his teams managed to get past a quarter final. The priority has to be picking a balanced team. Tuchel won the Champions League with a Chelsea team which included Werner, Mount, Havertz, Chilwell and Mendy. He knows what he is doing.

  16. Kane always drops deep into the space where Bellingham and Foden like to operate, has he never watched them play before?!! That’s why they can’t play together..

  17. The last set of major tournament this was tried and proven to not work. But we want to continue to doing the same thing again rather than trying something new lol. This is the reason why you are not a coach and will never coach a team

  18. Stop looking for the big name or star players football doesn’t work like that otherwise England doesn’t win anything . Let’s him build his team see what happens

  19. I’ve just realised I’ve not watched England since southgate 😬😂. That’s how much he put me off 😂

  20. Do they just flip a coin every morning on who is going to be the contrarian regardless of how dumb they sound?

  21. Tuchel knows he has versatility with certain players, for example, Bellingham can play an 8 as good as anyone.. Rice can play the 6 if needed.. Palmer ins't just a number 10 either he's also a right winger… same with Eze, he can also play the left wing as well as number 10… players like Gibbs-White, although very talented, doesn't offer anything that these players mentioned haven't already covered…

Even Foden has proved he's more than capable of playing the false 9 role so that would more than likely include him in the summer, especially if he continues the form he's in

  22. No mention of Cole palmer 🤣. The best one of the lot, the guy who will win us game out of know where. Rodger’s should be on the left wing.

  23. This discussion is so typical and the f*****g reason England hasn’t won a trophy in decades. Let the manager manage the team!!! “Foden has got to play surely” 🙄
