Now, the vast majority of zero torque putters come in a mallet shape, and you can see they’re taking the tour by storm and with everyday golfers as well. But what does that leave for the blade lovers out there that are looking for a zero torque option? Well, there are only a few out there, and I’ve got one of them in my hands today. This is the brand new PXG Mustang, which is, as you can see, a blade style putter, but it has that toe-up design and is a zero torque putter as well. So, let’s dive into it and see why this could be a great option for you. Now, immediately what I like about the PHG Mustang is the shape. Yes, it’s a blade shape, but you’ve got these two little kind of fangs here at the end, and then you have the center channel with the alignment line. So, when you kind of sit it down on the deck, it really does allow you to get the ball right in the middle of the club head as well. Not only that, again, just the way this is designed, there’s very minimal shaft lean. There’s only a degree. Now, if you kind of look at the design, obviously where the shaft goes into the grip, just being able to eliminate that kind of forward press when you when you do grip it and stand over it, it does feel very neutral, which is quite clever. Now you’ve also got this patent s hoszle design here which if you to kind of look like the kind of traditional zero torque putters that shaft will kind of go would in theory go right into the back but the way this is designed and the way that that’s shaped that gives you that toe up zero torque design as well. Now with this being a blade putter this may not look like it should have what I’m about to say but this is a hollow body design. So right here in this whole channel um sitting behind the face is hollow but it’s filled up with a proprietary polymer which stabilizes and enhances the kind of obviously structure but gives you great sound and feel as well when you hit it across the face. Now not only that what you have is PXG’s thinnest putter face to date at 0.055 055 in, which is probably almost like a grain of sand, but that’s what gives you that great feel and sound off this putter head. Now, with this being a hollow body design, that allows you to redistribute weight, which is why you’ve got these two little fangs here, giving you great MOI, but also helping kind of move that CG further forward. Now, if you incorporate this S huzzle, this is what gives you that toe up kind of zero torque, allowing you to move that center of gravity further forward. Now, if you combine all of that with PXG’s pyramid face design, you get a great combination of consistency, feel, and then with that zero torque design, you’re going to get great stability, especially with the grip as well, kind of allowing you to have more of a neutral kind of look. just allows you to keep the putter as square as possible all the way through impact. But without further ado, let’s put that to the test. We’re going to do exactly what we did with our 2025 zero torque putter test. We’re going to go from kind of 40 ft and then 8 ft and see how many putts we can sync uh with a brand new PXG Mustang putter. So before I hit this 40ft putt, how cool is that? That’s a really cool head cover in my opinion. Absolutely love that. Really smart. Now, I I will confess I have tried this putter already. Uh I was invited out to Scottdale National in Arizona and I got fitted into this putter and when I went on the course I was really surprised. The the sound and feel of this is it’s it feels firm. It feels soft, but the firmness comes from the acoustic. It feels soft off the face. You feel like you’ve got control over each putt. But the one thing I like is you feel like you can hit them aggressively. Um, giving yourself a chance to obviously hold putts from distance. But I would say in terms of distance control from 40 ft, 2 ft, 2 ft kind of 3 ft. And it just makes those longer putts just that little bit easier to two putt from distance. But we’re going to go back to 8 ft. Now, obviously two average is kind of around that 50% mark. But let’s see how many we can hold. We’re going to hit nine putts. See how many we can hold. I do like what I’m what I’m seeing, especially at a dress. Like the way it kind of frames the ball is really nice. The two fangs, the alignment line, it’s really easy to kind of get everything centered. Oh, bingo. All right, so six from nine. Not too bad. What I do really like though about this putter is it’s kind of firm in its acoustic, but it comes off soft. It just allows you to hit your putts a little bit more aggressively. Now, that’s all down to that hollow body design with the polymer in there, which is what gives you that great feel and acoustic as well. That S huzzle design I really like. It just allows you to frame the ball up really nicely. Um, and then obviously you have the grip, which is slightly offset, so it allows the the shaft to only sit with one degree of shaft lean. overall for a blade style which is obviously a zero torque putter. I think it’s absolutely brilliant. It gives you that that other option in head shape. If you are someone who does like a blade style putter and you’re like, I’ve not been able to find anything which is got zero torque. Well, here you go. This this one could be for you. And as someone who originally wasn’t maybe a massive fan of zero torque putters, I’m starting to be one over. And this one is definitely one me won me over as well. So if you’re looking for that blade style with zero torque, you don’t want any face rotation, give this a try cuz it is absolutely brilliant. On that note, if you are new to the channel, remember to give us a sub, give us a like. We’ll see you next time. [Music]
