Now up ahead on the green. Speaking of legends here on the PJ tour legends tour, Peter Lonard. Nicely done. That’s an excellent start. And long ride of this second green. We need some magic hands to get this close. Oh. Oh. Oh. Just hit the stick. A little unlucky. If it had spin on it, that was unlucky. But if it didn’t, it was probably going to go about the same distance past. Attempting to chip here. Let’s make sure he carries this on the green. Oh, he heard you, Nick. Oh, yeah. That lands just half a foot short. It’s It’s an economy of movement for Peter Senior as we go to Rogers here for par. That’ll be a disappointing bogey there. Such a short hole. A little greedy with the T-OT. overdid it. Lonard here to clean up for his par after a beautiful chip. Will he hold it? Oh, walking them in from 3 ft. Pet pee. I love the pre-shot routine one as well from Murray Lot. I think that really does breed consistency and that’s one of the most common things I get asked. So, we watch Nigel Lane almost another birdie is most common question. How do I be more consistent? Well, build a consistent pre-shot routine. Yep. Well, it doesn’t lie. People lie. Noward after a birdie on one, par on two. He’s now two under through three holes and charging up that leaderboard. One back of our three leaders. One of those lab putters, the new lab putters that’s uh hit the world. A lot of players use him. Adam Scott, very similar length pilot there. Let’s go up ahead to Lonard playing into this fifth green. Oh, that’s aggressive. Covering the corner is really may as well go at the green. This pin up the left 16 on pretty much the middle of the green. A little bit to the left. Macka just right at it. Not just good, but sometimes great. Dave McKenzie to go for tide for the lead and he slipped that in the left hand side. Nigel Lane here for birdie. We seen back there that Jason Norris said that he was going to have a chat and he’s engaged in a conversation with Dave McKenzie. Wonder if that’s a little bit of gamesmanship there. You know Mack has just come off a birdie. Actually, there’s no gamesmanship out of these guys. They’re just all playing headtohead. Maybe Lee Trevveni used to drive and you get to your board and you go, “Oh, divot.” Really Branson from long range here on four. Thank you very much. You were talking about him needing to make putts early. Well, he’s opened the door. Pete Lonard ahead on the par five. I don’t really want to say it, Nick, but his chipping has improved out of sight. Well, I’m glad that was a a decent attempt that one. It was, you know, what would you give that about? A six or seven out of 10 from was a really good chip. Now, no one will even remember. There’s two ways to get it up and down. You either chip it close for a tap in or you hold a longer putt. All right, Lonard is for a share of the lead on seven. sort of taking off a lot quicker than he thought off the fringe there. Moving his way up the leaderboard. Yet another one up the hill right to left. A little slow. Oh no. Walking it. Yes, sir. Walking it. He doesn’t hold a lot of those. That will feel a little unusual for the big fella as well. Let’s hope he can get to the back of the ball. We’re going to come back to that shortly as we go up ahead to Nigel Lane. See if Yod Yoda can dial one in here. He’s hanging in there. That’s a beautiful shot there at the Masters. All right, Nigel Lane has to get an early birdie on the opening hole. Nicely done. He’s our first round leader up ahead on the third. Technique from 15 ft. Nicely done. Yeah, Lee hasn’t played a lot of these Legends event up at Shel Beach on the Central Coast. If you’re up on that way, go and play out after this shot to the right. Got a bit of green to work with. This could go in. Talking it out. Oh my goodness. Almost call of the century. It takes all risk out of play, doesn’t it? Yeah, nicely done. Yeah, that’s pretty good. Probably jumped a little bit to the left more than he thought. They came out here. A couple from Canada that were invites this for these last two weeks, which is fantastic. Lonard for par. Oh, he is dialed in. Mr. Sirius on the back nine. Why is my chipping not so great? So, cuz you chip that all day. Yeah, Matt Rogers here on the 11th. They’re trying to get out of the way of Lonard, but oh, that’s a fantastic shot there. Now, Lonard, a wonderful approach here on the 11th is to get within one of Norris. That just that really turned on him hard right to left. be disappointed in that due for a bomb. Needs to go. That what do they do in cricket? They signal when it misses the pitch. That’s a wide. Well, he must have thought both of those putts were downhill or something because got well short on both. Unfortunately, that’s his first blemish on the card today. I’m speaking about someone who needs a birdie. It’s this man. That might be his distance there, Nick. He’s held two of those today. Yan Walters from long range on 11 found the back left hand side of this green. Oh, come on. Has he rolled the putter well today, hasn’t he? What? That moves him to six under par. He’s held a few really good putts for par today, but that was his longest one for a birdie. Someone appreciates the work I’m doing. I don’t think many could afford you as a caddyy, Jimmy. Baron could. Oh, yeah. True. Oh, look at this. Look at this. Oh, Brendan Jones hasn’t held a putt all day. Scrapped one to the front of this green and that is a pivotal putt right there. The pin on 12 here. Lonard needs to get a a move on now after a bogey on 12. Oh, he certainly dialed in with his irons. That just needed one more kick forward. Wanted to avoid backto-back three putts. Nicely done. He hit three pretty good shots before that. Nice drive. Go. He can. [Applause] Well, that’s another red number on the card for Peter Lard. Is that all they got to go? Well, this is a big shot for Lonard. If he can get one in close here. He’s driven it on the fairway. Make a three. Yes. Keep going. Keep going. Yeah. Good shot from Lonard. Norris just hitting it in the water on 13. Depends where it covered Nick too. Where did it Did it cover? Would he have to come back this side? No, I think he’ll be back. I have a feeling he may have found a tree off the tea and he has dropped down. Yeah, from that far back needs a high right to left to here. Pin only six on seven from the left. It’s a good result from where he was. Lard to clean up here for his par on 16. And now not many leaderboards out there, so I don’t know if he knows where he sits. He’s got a par three and then a difficult par four to finish this for B. You almost think he deserves it after that T-shot. He’s a fairly left-hander. You just tell him to pick it up. Been short with a few putts all day. That two. He’s posting a score and well done. Excellent round. Five under par 65 just one blemish on the card. The right miss has been Jason’s issue all week as well. But this one started down the middle to the left side turning over. Well, he’s risen to the occasion. If it stays on the short grass, that’ll be even better. And it’s touch and go. 17. Another one down the right side trying to turn back towards the fairway. Needs a bit of luck here, McKenzie. And he has got it. Kick back out, but a fair way back. He’ll have a longer shot coming in. This This wind is just now swirling around, too. So, difficult to read if it’s going to help him that much. Yeah, I think that’s what he struggled with. The flag itself is telling us that it is behind him. This will have to take some sort of feat here. You’ll have to land this short of the green to get it anywhere close. Yeah, Jimmy said then probably no control out of that wispy sort of roughish type of stuff. The mistake made off the tea from Jones. Nothing to do with me, Gowi. I’m just here to talk. 86 m left for Jason Norris. A wonderful shot. Oh, I think that hit a sprinkler head. Yeah, it’s just not that easy a chip. Probably Brennan Jones has got the easier one. Back into the breeze, but this green’s been plenty firm all week, so it’s going to bounce. This really needs to go in. That was a wonderful attempt. Probably the best jip shot he’s hit all day. Whoever smiley and the like. Elmon Macka. Let’s roll this one in. Just a couple of bogeies to finish his round. Unfortunately, played some solid golf all day, but always there or thereabouts. He won this tournament two years ago by five strokes. And this time it’ll only be one, but one is enough. There he is, our 2025 Australian PGA Senior Champion, Jason Norris. Fantastic play from the South Australian. Little kissing a cuddle from

Pete Lonard still stripes it.
why so few golf swings ……………mostly putting ?
Good to hear NickO'
Was this just a putting contest?
Lonard’s stroke mechanics have never changed. I could recognise that shot a mile off.
bizarre highlights, nearly all putting and nearly all just of Lonard's putting with only one hole of the eventual winner. Very disappointing and hardly worth watching.
Well done Snoz!
Horrible "highlights", it was as if there were only a couple of people playing in the last round, you would think from watching this that Lonard was going to win by 5, until they finally showed the leaders last hole…
Very disappointing.
