BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU men’s golf head coach Austin King announced two signees for the class of 2026 on Thursday. The signing class includes two Kentucky natives, Barton Rutledge and Colton Woosley.

Rutledge is a senior at Allen County-Scottsville High School and is native of Scottsville. He was named to the All-State First Team in 2024 and 2025 and was the runner-up at the KHSAA State Tournament in 2024, the highest finish for a golfer from Allen County-Scottsville all-time. Rutledge was a top five finisher in the Kentucky State Junior championship in 2025.

“I’m very excited for Barton to be a Hilltopper!” said King. “He’s extremely competitive with a golf game you can count on and he works extremely hard. He’s a high character kid who will definitely be an immediate fit with our team as soon as he gets to campus.”

Woosley is a senior at South Oldham High School and is a native of Crestwood, Kentucky. He was named to the All-State First Team in 2025. Woosley has had four top 10 finishes in American Junior Golf Association events and had a top five finish in the Kentucky State Junior championship in 2024.

“I’m really excited for Colton to join us next year!” said King. “He’s a talented player who has competed at a national level with a lot of upside. He’s also a big team guy and will fit in with this group immediately and do things the right way.”
