Omar Hisham Talaat, president of the Egyptian Golf Federation, has been elected to the Executive Board of the Arab Golf Federation for the 2025–2029 term, capping a year of significant growth for the sport in Egypt.
The election took place during the federation’s General Assembly meeting in Riyadh, held on the sidelines of the Arab Men’s Golf Championship.
“I am honored by the trust placed in me by the members of the Arab Golf Federation’s General Assembly,” Omar Hisham Talaat said in a statement. “This appointment is both a great responsibility and an opportunity to further promote golf across the Arab world. Egypt’s presence on the Executive Board provides an important platform for sharing expertise, supporting development initiatives, and keeping pace with the global progress the sport is witnessing.”
He added that the coming period will see stronger collaboration between the Egyptian and Arab golf federations, focusing on talent discovery, technical training, and hosting international tournaments.
The General Assembly also saw Yasir Al-Rumayyan of Saudi Arabia retain his position as president for a second consecutive term.
