Plans have been lodged to turn a struggling golf course into a caravan park.

Harry Ward has applied to Cumberland Council for the change of use of the site at Brayton Park in Aspatria, Cumbria.

Plans would involve installing 213 caravans on the land currently used for the nine-hole facility and surrounding grassland, with 21 caravans already on site.

Planning documents submitted on Mr Ward’s behalf said the golf course had been struggling due to competition from other facilities nearby.
