This week in the Workshop master builder, Jeff Walk, is replacing the shaft in a @labgolf OZ.1i with a custom graphite @kbsgolfshafts Tour GPS Garsen Edition putter shaft.

Why make the switch?

✅ It’s a strong shaft

✅ It minimizes deflection bend commonly found in steel shafts

✅ Maximizes distance control

✅ Helps start and maintain line

✅ Increase MOI

For this build Jeff is installing a MAX Pistol from our 2025 Garsen Collection. It’s an upgraded spin on our classic MAX design which prominently features a spine down the front of the grip, encouraging a golfer’s hand and thumbs to rest on the sides of the grip. This ensures that your elbows stay into your body more for a better controlled and consistent putting stroke. The MAX Pistol also features a new black, white and silver signature color scheme with an enhanced texture for MAX-imum feel and control.

Want to give a big shoutout to L.A.B. Golf for sending us this amazing OZ.1i putter, allowing us to show our fans and the golf community that putters can be customized to fit any style or golfer’s game.

What are we going to do with this Lab putter? I’m going to take it apart, of course. Lab Golf’s OZ1i, if not one of the most popular putters of 2025. Right now, that lab has the stock shaft on it. So, what I’m going to do is replace it with this KBS Tour GPS 120 Garson Edition. So, what I’m going to do now is warm up the shaft right where it goes into the head. So, that’s going to kind of loosen up the epoxy. Sometimes you can use a blowtorrch, but I want to be very careful with this putter. [Music] So, I’m going to outfit this with the Max Pistol grip. And the reason why I chose this is this is at 70 g. So, paired with this, this is going to allow me to feel quite a bit of the head still. It’ll have a nice balance that I will like. The Max pistol has that flare in the butt end of the grip. And what I like about that is of course it has its classic max feeling with your thumbs on both side keeping your elbows locked and your wrist in the position. But I’m left hand low so my right hand can feel a little bit more grip in the top and that just allows my left hand to guide the putt a little bit better. [Music] So there you have it. That was a ton of fun to build. The Lab OZ1i with the KBS Tour GPS Garson collab shaft and the Garson Max pistol grip. I can’t wait to get this on the
