Converted and do not regret it at all. 42 and decent shape but by the tail end of the round the upper body would be fatigued a bit, or a mild deterrent from not walking at all. Plus the 3 times per round that I would give myself the Heimlich with my cliqgear because I tried to start walking and forgot the brake was on.
Either way, the electric caddy is a game changer. I know a few people who have thousands of miles on theirs too.
If it helps, I got my refurbished MGI from this place in “excellent” condition and I couldn’t find any sign that it was even used and they’re running an exceptional sale right now – [https://refurbishedgolfcaddies.com/products/zip-navigator-at-electric-golf-caddy](https://refurbishedgolfcaddies.com/products/zip-navigator-at-electric-golf-caddy)

get the electric. it’s a game changer! less about the effort it takes to push it around more about not having to worry about parking it, retrieving it back and forth especially around the greens to tee boxes. the electric can always just come to where you are. i even use it to drive to my ball to roughly mark where i landed so if my playing partner(s) take a long time i won’t forget where i landed my shots.
lovemesomewine
Was mouth cart for 10 years went to electric 3 years ago. Takes a little getting used to at first but it’s awesome. Even in the heat of summer can walk 18. You can chat with others even if you drive is further away. Go help finding shots etc.
Wolverine2121
Saw a man who looked to be in his 80s at the driving range with an electric one. Watched him walk down to the range with the cart in front of him while smoking a cigar and a Miller Lite in each hand. Almost bought one based on his vibes.
united07red
Unpopular opinion here but I love the electric push cart. My home course is pretty hilly so you definitely notice it on the back nine. May not be a purist, but am walking every week and loving the extra energy on the back nine.
Vivid_Witness8204
My push cart broke one day and I loaded my clubs on a partner’s riding cart while I walked the round. I was somewhat surprised at the end at how much less tired I was. Pushing was more work than I thought. So I do plan on switching to electric when it starts getting tougher to walk the course but I hope that won’t come until I’m well into my 70s.
Not unlike an electric bicycle I figure I’ll wait until I really need it. With both I figure I’m better off staying old school as long as I can.
Jfo116
I’m currently saving up for an electric push cart. I’m expecting it to improve my walking experience the way upgrading to a self propelling lawn mower does.
mrb1ll
Probably not wise to be openly turning your back on one Mafia to make it known you want to join an opposing family.
throwsfeces
I used to carry, but nowadays I push (32m). Carrying is still nostalgic for me, and if I ever had a truly solo morning dew round, I’ll carry. Otherwise I’ll push with friends cause of the cup holder lol.
cbg13
My dad will never admit it, but I think his electric push cart is his favorite thing he owns. He’s over 70 years old but acts like a little kid with that thing
Trebor711
There is no purist that say no to an electric trolley. I’m 70 and use an electric cart. It is the best! In my young days I carried. Then as I got older and my back started to bother me I used a pull cart. Then when my shoulder started to bother me I switched to a push cart. Upon my retirement, I bought an electric cart. I walk the course and not have to worry about pushing, pulling or carrying and ENJOY the walk.
JTitleist
I was playing with a fit 33yo stick who had an electric push cart. He said he just likes it mentally. Made him feel like he had a caddy. I don’t think any one cares how you transport your bag.
Spiritual-Tadpole342
Our 16th hole is an uphill par 5. If I hit it to the left side of the fairway (or even farther left than that), I have to walk up a pretty steep hill through long rough. It’s always at that point when I contemplate getting an electric pushie. I haven’t bit the bullet yet, but I would love to use an electric for a few rounds to just see how it affects the enjoyment of the game.
Someone I know said that he loves his MGI. He used to push, then he started carrying because it was easier he said, then he got the electric. “Game changer” is what he says.
Effective_Impossible
30+ years walker here, only recently joined the PCM due to back issues from carrying all the time. Personally, for flat courses, push cart is a no brainer easy than carrying, and perfect for the e-cart if you just want to walk. Hilly courses though, I find carrying to actually be easier on my legs and I have more energy at the end of the round than pushing a cart. I still use my old pull cart from time to time as i find it easier on my legs than a push carts on hills. You have to be careful with e-carts on hilly or rolling tracks so they dont fall over on slopes.
If you plan to play any local, state, or national tournament, please note that e-carts are not allowed. So while your practice rounds will be easier, you may have to train to use a push cart in tournament.
Turbulent_Echidna423
I bought an RC electric. it’s still walking, but not walking. awesome.
blilleyjr
I converted to a Stewart because it actually if hands free and follows me. I love it as it is as close to having a Caddy that I have experienced.

I went the opposite direction. I had a push cart and found that I would load up with a bunch of unnecessary crap just to justify having a push cart. I would bring a least a dozen balls, multiple towels, a jacket, umbrella, and just about every accessory I had because “what if I need it!?” I was to the point where I was pushing a cart that had to weight at least 40lbs. Was it stupid and my own fault? Yes.
I shed all that in favor of a lightweight stand bag and have been much better for it. Other than my clubs and an umbrella if rain is a possibility, I carry 6 balls, enough tees to get me through a round, a snack, and a bottle of water. I have noticed no difference in levels of fatigue after a round, and it’s overall much more convenient.

Recent convert to the E-cart. I’m a huge fan, it’s fun to drive and I went from pushing/walking 18 being a fun day but tiring to walking 36 feeling very doable.
It takes some getting used to, more than the riding cart to push cart conversion. Give yourself a couple rounds, and don’t let it get far away until you’re really comfortable. It’s very nice to be able to walk and remove your glove, chat, whatever without pushing.
Brands, Motocaddy and MGI Zip are the two premium ones that are hard to find used for a reason. I did thorough research, and there’s others that I’m sure people will vouch for, but those two seem to be the top of the game.

Anyone have the Axglo E5 or E3?
fun_machine_
Alphard V2. Was sold after watching all the reviews on YouTube, this shits elite. Converts most push carts into electric and can convert a 3 wheel cart into a 4 wheel. So worth it. The cheaper electric carts are 1500-2k, V2 is 8-900.
Alante
Switched to electric this year. My lower back and calves are so much fresher coming down the stretch. Our last few holes are hilly and low index (sadists), and I used to be bolloxed coming to them. Now I’m much less tired, and there is not much improvement score wise! Im not stiff later in the day, though (history of back issues).
Edit: to clarify (because of others’ replies), it’s an electric push cart I have to hold onto (or set to 50 yards etc) rather than a ride on or remote control one.
bartolocologne40
You’re still walking with the electric, but it’s like you have a drunk person caddying for you. I say do it
nimbuscile-alert
Electric is just the natural progression. You realise a push cart is so much easier than carrying a bag and then you eventually realise that controlling your cart by remote and sending it off to the next tee while you line up a putt is just too much fun. Not to mention the freedom of walking down the fairway touching nothing and ever-so-briefly feeling like a pro is worth every penny.
95% of golfers where I live use push carts (maybe even more than 95%), usually you are only using a car if you are really old or have an injury that stops you from being able to walk
panderson1988
>Seeing green grass and proper fall golf
>Meanwhile courses close near me for the year, and recent snowfall before going back to 60 killed the grass
Feels bad man.
Personally, I like the push cart. Electric seems cool and all, but I struggle accepting the costs. Plus I burn a few more calories pushing my own.
Fantastic-Set-347
Just a little food for thought…
I played a league match with a guy that had an electric push cart. He had lost his remote but was able to use his phone to control it. THEN HIS PHONE DIED after a couple of holes. Electric “push” carts are not made to be pushed, they are heavy thanks to the battery and motor. It was about 90* and humid, I thought the guy was going to die…

I personally like to keep things simple and cheap (my cart is about as basic as a 3-wheel cart gets), but I won’t judge someone for going electric. Do what you like, I don’t think it violates this thing of ours in any way.

Love my push cart and I’ll run the wheels off that thing!
sleva5289
I moved to the electric two years ago. Not going back. Sending it to the next tee while on the green is so time saving. I don’t have to worry if I left it in the wrong spot. Also, the courses I play are hilly, so my lower back used to ache by 16-17. No longer have that issue.

Do what you feel, sir!
I feel like the gap from carry to push is far greater than the gap between push and powered. At the moment I don’t see the payoff from extra admin (remembering to charge would be a big one for me) so I’m staying manual for now.
MrDuck0409
I tried a conventional push cart and my neck and back hurt for days. But I want to walk the course.
So I got a KamKaddie e-cart and love it. It was only $400 (on sale), and it’s NOT like the high-falutin’ carts with GPS that follow you around. It’s simply a motor, handlebar controls, and a battery.
Love it.
I got the idea to get an e-cart when I saw someone on the course use one of the expensive “following” carts, but the guy was DRIVING a golf cart, with his e-cart quickly following behind. WTF?
Must have been showing off to his buddies.
lernington
My step-dad and all his buddies have them, and every time I golf with them I’m jealous. It’s very high on my list of things to get, just need to get to where I can stomach shelling out over $1000 for it
