Tom, first of all, massive congratulations. What a performance going wire towire here at the Hong Kong Golf Club. We use the word relentless a lot in commentary. How was the week for you? Yeah, it was it was obviously uh amazing. Um I played some of the the best golf I’ve probably ever played. So, um yeah, to to have that sort of golf and and to shoot those scores around here is uh it’s pretty special. It should come as no surprise that along with this victory, you now also have the tournament scoring record here at the Hong Kong Open. What does that mean to you at this early stage in your career? Yeah, that means a lot. Um, I mean, with a a tournament with with so much history behind it and um, you know, great players that have won this tournament to to have the the scoring record is uh is pretty special and and something I’ll definitely uh that will live with me forever. You played some excellent golf all throughout the week to give yourself the lead coming into Sunday. You stretched that advantage going into the back nine, but the job still wasn’t done. Still a lot of scary T- shots and demanding holes on the inward stretch here at the Hong Kong Golf Club. How important were the little goals you set on the back n to your performance today? Yeah, it was uh yeah, very important. You know, uh two shots can can go very quickly, three shots can go very quickly. So, um, yeah, it was it was a little strange sort of building that big big lead. Um, sort of coming in. It was a little bit of a weird feeling, but, um, yeah, sort of just tried to take advantage of the holes that were were birdie chances, um, par fives and and wedge opportunities. So, uh, yeah, nice to take advantage of those and sort of stretch out the the lead coming in. Not only are you the Hong Kong Open Champion for this year, the second man from Hollywood Golf Club, by the way, to win this beautiful trophy, you will also be returning to the Open Championship for a third year at Royal Burkedale. And you have earned a ticket to drive down Magnolia Lane to tee it up in the Masters. How excited are you for those opportunities? Yeah, very excited. um you know to go to go back and play my my third open um will be will be very very cool and um to you say have that drive down Magnolia Lane for the first time ever will be even more special you know I think sort of historic tournaments like this um deserve those spots and um yeah it’s great to sort of take advantage of those you’re one of the great young talents of the game of golf your potential in this uh sport is certainly uh limitless how important has John Ram and your teammates at Legion 13 been in helping been crafty you into the player you are today. Yeah, very important um to sort of spend a full year with those guys this year um and play with them a lot and and learn from them a lot. Um I think it’s definitely made me a better player. Um and yeah, obviously it’s helped me here cuz I I came and played here um about 8 months ago. So um yeah, it’s been a been a huge help. Fancy your chances for Live Hong Kong next year? Hopefully. You know, I’ I’ve dreamt of doing this since I’ve been a a young kid and um, yeah, they they come true if you dream hard enough. Fantastic playing tongue.
