Ever actually seen a forging sequence up close?
Most of us talk about “forged feel” like it’s some mystical thing, but this is what it actually looks like when a chunk of steel starts becoming an iron head.

These are 3 of the 5 steps in the full process for our CB & MB irons (and wedges).
Hot steel, stupid amounts of pressure, and an ungodly loud factory floor — it’s pretty wild how much happens before an iron even starts to look like… an iron.

What do you all think of this process?
Anything surprise you? Anyone want to see all 5 steps start-to-finish?

Always fun seeing how the gear we obsess over is actually made.

Well i used to be a steel worker and the only thing that surprises me about this is that they arent being quinched in oil to harden the steel.

What’s the raw steel? 1026? Is there quench and tempering process or just as normalized?

  4. Not trying to cut jobs here, but using three people to do that is insane.

You mean it’s not some old man in a village somewhere, hand forging irons with hot coals and a hammer.

Sir, please for the love of god get your team proper PPE.

These men are in real danger of injury during every single step of this process.

Thought it was gonna be the dickbutt thing at one point.

Before I even looked to see who posted this I was wondering if it was Haywood.

You guys are the best, keep it up!

  9. As a manufacturing engineer, this makes me so sad. Such an incredible amount of safety problems and waste in this process.

Not to be a jerk, but this is doing the opposite of a marketing video. If a process includes waste and safety risks, those usually go hand in glove with poor quality control.

Ok fine I’ll try one of your 7 irons….

Do you think they would get better quality if they slowed down? Looks like they have a lot of irons in the fire.

Wait, they use a cast to forge? Disappointing

If you pretend that these guys are Japanese instead of Chinese, they become boutique and 2x the cost.

These 3 old men playing hot potato lets me know the quality of the end product is likely to be pretty high
